Hi, while playing DCS sometimes Track IR just freezes. No Headtracking anymore. When im Atl+Tab out of DCS and open Track IR Software, the Camera is just freezed. When i try to stop the Software i get Windows Error Message that theis PRogramm doesnt work anymore. When i restart Track IR then, DCS recognizes is only when i restart DCS. First i thought thats a Track IR Problem, something weird on my installation. So i did a complete clean reinstall. (uninstall, clean up registry, new download of the Software). But the same as before. It seems like if you Recenter Track IR multiple times it freezes. I tried it with other Games like Falcon BMS and Arma 3 and never experienced a Track IR freeze. Has anybody similar problems?

partially yes, that describes very well how to enter the coordinates into the CDU but where did i get these coordinates from? Lets say i want to bomb a bridge, where did i get the coordinates of that bridge?

It has something todo with translation i think, but the problem seems to be a bit more than just translation since there is missing functonality.

Hey, im trying to learn the A-10C. Well it works quite good so far. I can drop every Bomb and Missile, still need training but at least i know how to use them. But i have one Problem using the JDAM. The Description says its perfect for Bad weather. But since i use the Target Pod for pointing it to a target i need good weather. you can drop the Bomb on a waypoint but im missing the option to set a precicion waypoint like i can do it in BMS where i would plan such an Strike in Advance. And since the A-10 also has no A-G Radar i dont know how to get any Target Coordinates for dropping them in Bad Weather. Any Suggestions on this?

Hi, as you can read in this Thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=195883 i try to setup a Mission with a FAC. Just to learn Missionbuilder. But it wont work. If i setup the FAC as described in many Tutorial Videos and by many people via Advanced Waypoint Actions it wont work. I get no JTAC or FAC Option when im starting the Mission and try to contact him. Also if i provide someone with my Mission he says there is no Callsign and no Frequency in the Advanced Waypoint ACtion. Well its not possible to set no Callsign because at least Axeman is default. Then i get a Mission from the Member which helps me out (thanks again to him). If i start his Mission, it works like a charm. But when i open his Mission in the Editor, there is no Advanced Waypont Action at all. The only difference i can see is that iam using the German Version. I will provide you with both Missions. 02-FAC is created by me and doesnt work but looks correct in the Editor The other works but is a mistery in the Editor. 02-FAC.miz JTAC or FAC test for A-10C.miz

Thank you very much for this Test Mission. I assume this Missions works on your machine otherwise you wouldnt have send me this. The weird thing is it works when i start your Mission BUT. When i open your Mission in the Missioneditor and open the Advanced Waypoint Actions of the JTAC, its just empty. Not a single action there. On the other Hand there is that triangle Symbol on the Map pointing to the Aggressor Vehicle. Well its time for a Bug Report i think

Hm thats interesting. When im opening the Mission and go into the Advanced Wapoint Stuff into the FAC engage Group Action, there is his Callsign (Axeman) and below his Frequency 33 FM. I just redone another test mission using the advice from that youtube video. I did exactly the same but nothing in the radio menu. Only difference i can see so far is that im using the german version/translation of DCS. Whould you be so kind and offer me a sample mission with a working JTAC i can take a look at?

Yes i did. But i get nothing in the Radio Menu. There is Tower and Groundcrew but no JTAC option. I tried different frequencies, AM and FM but nothing.

Hi, just to learn the Mission Editor i set up a FAC Mission in Caucasus using the A-10C. There is a Jeep acting as FAC, a few enemy tanks and the FAC is set up just as i found out via google and some youtube videos. Meaning he has Advanced Waypoint Action as FAC to engage the Tank group, Hes invisible, unvulnerable and he has a radio frequenzy. But i cant contact him and have no idea what im doing wrong. I add the Mission that you can check and hopefully spot my mistake. please help me to understand this. 02-FAC.miz

But im searching for a place where to study that CDU Unit further not just a single workflow. It seems like you can do a lot with it but i havent found a decent source about that topic. In the Manual there are a few articles spread out but no comprehensive manual just about that tool.

Im fairly new to the A-10 thing. Can anyone point me to a place where to learn about flightplans and markpoint management? I mean i can use a Flightplan and i can use markpoints but currently i dont know how to set up a new flight plan and move markpoints to that plan and so on.

will this be just in DCS 2.0 as long as that plane is still in Beta or are we abele to fly this beauty in Caucasus (meaning 1.5) also?

Thanks Guys, i will experiment with that Feedback id get. So it seems like its good enough to scan with MSL 10 degrees up and down. Of course if i get something i will need to fiddle that down but before i have this problems i need to find any targets at all ;) Oh and yes, no Radar at all seems logical to me but its kinda impossible to spot something in the simulator. But i dont want to use Labels.. Is there a way to scale the 3D Models?

Im using the Standard Scanning Mode. Nothing Fancy, im starting at 40 Miles and im at the same height as the target 25.000 feet. So Ground Clutter is no factor. I did using the tilt control to actively search different heights. Even if i knew the target is on the same height i was experimenting to find some kind of tactic for Air Patrol when i dont know anything about the Enemy. But it seems that playing with Antenna Elevation is my fault. When i dont touch it and just scan at 0 degrees i can catch the target at roughly 40 Miles. Dont know what im doing wrong with the Elevation, how many sweeps should i wait before changing the elevation? Is it appropriate to switch in 10 degree jumps or should i do 5 degree instead?

Hey, im working on my Skills in flying this nice little Jet during Combat Operations. So ive setup a Training Mission. I used a Tu-138 as Enemy Plane and placed it way up in the North with direct course to Batumi. My Plane starts in Batumi and tries to find that Enemy Bomber, which should be an easy Task since a Bomber is a very large Plane. But i have no luck. I double Check the Position using F-10 and everytime the Bomber passes me without getting noticed. And it passes me relative close. Sometimes i could catch him visually but no joy on Radar. Do you Guys have any Tactics/Tricks on how to pick something up with the Radar?

This was something i tried. It seems like the Buttons will be held with this command and never released. MapKey(&Throttle, APENG, L_CTL+'j'); I didnt know how to chain commands, so thanks. I will use this if i cant get the Button to work as it should. But i would prefer to hold the button 3 secs on my own that i can disrupt this when needed.

Hey, im trying to figure out Target Scripts. So far i have allready some nice results, but currently i have a problem i couldnt solve with manual and the internet. The problem is the Autopilot Engage/Disengage Button on the Warthog Throttle. I want them to just work like the L/G Warn Button, but it seems like he has 2 Events. APENG and APDIS. Currently i want to use it in Falcon BMS to Emergency Jettison external Stores. But for that i need to press that Button 3 Seconds. So PULSE will not work. Any Tips/Ideas?

Are there plans to add German Bombers? Would be nice for some kind of Battle for England Missions where you have to hunt down German Heinkels.

Hey, Trying to make a Mission in DCS Normandy Map. I want to have a bigger Bomber formation which attemps to Bomb a City. The Player should stop that Bomber pulk with the help of several AI Pilots. So far i have a big Bomber Pulk flying in formation into the Target Area. But they didnt drop any Bombs. So how can i make a group of Bombers attacking a City? So far i have advice to set up 2 waypoints to overfly the City. And then at least 20NM away from the first Waypoint i should set up a Bomb Trigger. So Question is how to set up a Bomber trigger? I couldnt find any option in the Triggers which sounds like drop ordonance or shoot or anything like that.

Hey folks, so i bought the F5 and as always with a new plane, the first things i train are Ramp Starts and then take off and landings in normal conditions and then crosswinds. I think its crucial to be able land the plane in almost any circumstances. So the brakes are a Topic for multiple discussions. But in that case the brakes are only part of the problem. I have really hard time to land the plane in heavier crosswind situations. Im talking about 10kt and upwards. While the main problem is that this beast skids heavily. Im not talking about braking since this plane has no Anti Skid even if i dont think thats ok how its modelled, im talking just about skidding if you touch down not perfectly 100% straight. If you start to skid theres not much you can do, even chute doesnt help.... Here is my Question: What are your tactics to land in crosswind situaions?

Yes you can find the Runway if the visibility is good enough to land when you ar close. If theres fog and you see the runway only if you, lets say, 1000 feet away. You are in trouble.

While Maverick would be funny, i think ILS would be far more usefull than anything else. Because no matter how precisely your Missiles will hit, if you cant find the Runway again you are in trouble. So a big +1 for adding ILS support. havent done much research so far but i think ILS is mandatory.

i bought the warthog just 3-4 months ago and its allready the 2nd time this happens. Currently im at work but i will try to plug them back into the original ports and see what happens. reflashing the firmware might be an idea too, i just checked if there is allready the correct firmware installed and there was so i didnt touch anything. i cant tell for sure when the mini stick quit working, for that reason i cant tell if there was any windows update or something like that. For a few weeks i just flew the P-51 where i dont need any, yesterday i tried BMS again and couldnt move the cursor. I checked the A-10, same there....

A Update on this problem. I switched USB Ports and now the mini stick works like a charm again. Is there anybody with similar problems or is it just me? Its the second time now that mini stick quit his function.
