The mig-21 caucasus campaign has been incompatible for a while now, and Mbot mentioned that he won't be fixing it anytime soon as he's working on the Nevada version. However, Desert Fishbed doesn't seem to be working as intended as well at the moment, so I'd say stay away from it for now.

Interesting.... Have they ever mentioned about bugs like this being worked on? I mean the mig isn't a new module, shoulda fixed years ago, right?

Lucky for you, Desert Fishbed is almost unplayable. :(

MiG-21bis Dynamic Campaign: Desert Fishbed 76
Lymark replied to MBot's topic in User Created Missions General
I'm enjoying it. Way better than the default boring one. Quick question tho; how are we supposed to 'intercept' 14 ships(mostly F-5s) with only one wingman? I'm constantly getting missions which I'm outnumbered by so many. In addition, Both mission description and AWACS have been directed me to nowhere but more or less the exact spot around east of Las Vegas(8+missions), almost within range of enemy SAMs, and the enemy CAP would usually just stay within that the AA coverage until I go in hot suicidally. I feel like I could just end the mission even before starting up the engine. Does it sound right? Edit: My tactics right now is literally drag them to my base and let the air defenses deal with them. Edit#2: If Desert Fishbed is supposed to be something similar to Guardians of the Caucasus, then I'm 300% sure Desert Fishbed is currently bugged. I've probably flown 40+ sorties, ALL orders are, as mentioned, pointing me exactly at the same spot, facing more or less the same amount of F4s/F5s(which only circle above Las Vegas every single time). Since interception mission only launches after the single B-52 finished bombing, there's no way I could catch up. If I were to startup and take off within 2mins and go afterburner all the way toward it, the B-52 would be on short final of its base before I'm within SAR range(as well as their AAs). Not to mention, I've never seen a single allies flight flying at all. -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - Nevada - Round 1
Lymark replied to Ciribob's topic in Multiplayer
I notice a lot of Mig-21 pilots(via stream)are flying with "realistic ASP reticle''setting off. Isn't it possible to force it on via server side? I just thought that it would make more sense to have it on for a server like blue flag. -
Just bought the Mig-21 and finished learning it. Thank god I thought it was just me forgetting to switch something on. So I guess there's still no workaround for it yet?

You know that 1-2(inner)/3-4(outer)missile pylon selector? Since It launches both missiles at the same time, If one loses track or misses, the other one will most likely too, correct? Why would you use it then?

Thank you guys for the replies! So, I guess my best bet would be find that small PS analog joystick piece as a replacement. :) It's just a simple step of plug in/out,right? Will I need special tool like a glue gun? And, how accurate is the PS pot compared to TM's? Also, do you guys have any advice on preventing this from happening again? It sounds like TM's pot is poorly made, and I only own it for a little over a year. But, I seem to be the only one having this issue as I can't find any other similar thread.

The slider has started jittering MASSIVELY a month ago and it's getting worse since. Right now, the forward axis(zoom in) is no longer detectable by the calibration tool(re-calibrated for over 30+ times in a row now) and the center deadzone will be off-centered after a few cycles of slide movement(On top of the mentioned massive jitter). Thus, it's pretty much dead. Unfortunately, my warranty has expired pass June and It'll most likely cost me for the repair via my local dealership(I live in Hong Kong). I could live without the slider as long as I'm not flying the A-10C, but I thought It would be nice If there's any other cheaper/easier way to have it fixed or replaced(Note: Not a DIY expert nor have any experience in repairing things here). Any advice? :)

Is it possible to change the default preset channels for multiplayer flying? I've read some old threads regarding that for SP mission, but doesn't seem to work for MP.

Sorry for the SUPER late reply! As the others mentioned, you can't use this mod without failing the integrity check.

What's the trick in going against F-15/Su-27 at high altitude? Still learning to fight in the Mirage, and I usually have no problem doing sneaky stuff down low. But I feel like naked and half dead whenever I gotta go high with no terrain as cover. Also, any advice in shaking off bandit on my six within gun range? Besides having a wingman and using terrain?

In campaign where I have to land then takeoff in the mountains, I always almost flip myself If I have parking brakes on and nose wheel isn't centered during lift off. However, I find that having the brakes on and pitch backward helps centering the nose wheel back. Very good video, thank you! " You can come back on power a bit earlier when you are about to exit ETL so you can do a more gradual increase of collective so you down let the rotor rpm decay when you go back to hover power." And good advice here! took me like 20 crashes with generator failure to realize that. After I bit more of practice, I'm able to decent a lot faster similar to how you did there, but still really worried about VRS at less than 40km, gonna practice more!:) Speaking of combat landing in the terrain, wouldn't it be risky performing the touchdown roll? I believe landing on uneven terrain with wheels instead of skids have a high tendency to flip forward?

1) Is there a way to lock nose wheel? My nose wheel often tends to turn to the right for some reason, and I have to compensate it by applying left rudder. If I don't be careful during vertical takeoff, there's a very high chance that my heli would yaw to the right hard, possibly causing a flip. 2) Is there such thing as 'combat landing' for the Mi-8?If so, how do you do it? It wouldn't make sense having to set up a slow approach at 120km/h & 3~4 m/s decent rate while in the heat of battle, right? 3) How does one perform a nose wheel take off? I managed to flip forward initially, but then the main gear would immediately drop back down, end up rolling with 3 wheels on the ground at 150km, even If I have full forward cyclic. Thanks!

I must've been blinded, thank you guys! :)

I've watched some videos and tested it myself for two hours, but I'm still very confused with the launch warning and I can't find any useful info in the manual. So, I've no problem recognizing the constant beeping sound as me being locked, but there seems to be two different kinds of launch tone? One being the very obvious and tense tone, and the other with higher pitch and fast interval beeps. What determines which would be sounded? Then to the RWR display itself, a launch symbol(diamond shape) sometimes have the aircraft type in it instead of 'M' as for missile, why is that? And there's also times where a solid line pointing towards the direction of launch. Last question, where is the RWR volume knob? It's not in the volume control panel. Thank you!

Is there any workaround at the moment, besides using Cv NA?
-
Ahh alright then, I must have mistaken that I'd able to use it for blue flag.
-
Weird.. I'm still getting the msg. I might try reinstalling the game.

Could anyone please share me their nvd.fx file? I've already replaced it with the newer one, but I'm still getting the integrity check failed msg. Thank you!

(Above video should easily explain my problem, please note I was only moving my head left to right.) I just updated from 2.2 to 2.3, and whenever I turn my head from left to right(Yaw), there's a certain point where my X(lean L&R) and Z(zoom) would start moving as well. This sort of happened in 2.2, but simply adding dead zone solved the issue completely. I did that in 2.3 too, however It won't work due to the how huge the X&Z movement is. It basically reached the peak of my setting. Everything else is just fine as long as I don't use X&Z. Thus, I have a feeling that It might have to do with the new 'camera offset' setting under in the option tab. Cause my PS3 Eye's mounted on my speakers(Left side) next to the monitor. I have no idea how those offset numbers work, but I tried playing around a little with no luck. I'm out of idea, any help?:surrender:

Warthog throttle calibration problem
Lymark replied to Lymark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Alright, so I have returned my throttle to the retailer, and been waiting for the past weeks. They relayed me an email from Thrustmaster today, saying that the axes ain't supposed to be the same. I find it extremely contradicting, cause I've also sent an email to TM before returning it, and they were the one who told me to had my fault product replaced. And then, here you guys with a perfectly aligned throttle. My head's gonna explode  -
Warthog throttle calibration problem
Lymark replied to Lymark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the instruction!:) And yeah, I'm gonna see If I could get a replacement instead of doing all the work. Just in case, the area I marked is the spot where I'd have to clean it, correct? Gotta make sure, cause I suck at mechanic stuff, and it always freak me out when stuff are involved with circuit board, feel like I'm gonna break it somehow. :D -
Warthog throttle calibration problem
Lymark replied to Lymark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Kinda surprised that I just bought this brand new and EXPENSIVE Warthog for less than a week, and I'm already having little problem with it. It doesn't seem to affect A-10C luckily. However, It bugs me a little when playing other WWII SIM bombers. I was able to tighten the difference by increasing the friction though. I've been playing with DIView a little, but I just can't figure out the right calibration numbers to fix it. And there's only one video guide online that isn't quite useful... How much closer are the values after you finished cleaning it? And do you mind elaborate a little more on how you get to the magnet parts? I surely don't wanna break it :P I was able to tighten the numbers a little by increasing the throttle friction.
