  1. If I understood the latest Q&A correctly, I think there'll be an alternative way to get the module where we get to play one day early, right?
  2. A quick question: Is the 'bitching Betty' voice a WIP or is that how the real one sounds like? Cause I swear it's the exact same soothing voice as from 'one of the wives'!
  3. Will youtubers gain early access to the module for reviews and stuff?
  4. Ah that explains it! What would be the max number be roughly? The server I'm playing on now has all kinds of nails and it always make the RWR almost unreadable.
  5. I've tried turning the knob to different positions, but the RWR doesn't seem to be filtering out unwanted nails. Any clue? Thanks!
  6. Has anyone figured out how to use LSS yet?
  7. Does anyone know what the new ^ symbol mean? It shows up occasionally but I can't replicate it.
  8. Is this a common issue for the throttle? And what are some ways to prevent this from happening again? I've heard the inside of TM HOTAS isn't as pretty as the outside, but I didn't expect it to be broken only after 3 years of use. Am I just unlucky? I've zero clue about wiring, and I'm afraid that the might invalid my whole replacement/repair privilege.
  9. My HOTAS is 3 years old, I first experienced malfunction(not working at all) of both coolie and boat switches a month ago, and I could somehow temporarily fix it by moving the right throttle back and forth, as of the buttons needed some 'warm-ups', then It'd be fine for a few days before having to repeat the 'warm-ups' again. The malfunction has gotten worse since two days ago, as mic, speed brake and china hat are now included. I've been doing 'warm-ups' for the past 30mins and these buttons seem to only get detected for a brief moment when my right throttle position is within 50~100%. I assume It's pretty much dead, right? Is there anything I could do before I decide to send it back for a costly repair? Thanks!
  10. Thank you both of you!:) It's such a relief to learn that the 3th wire isn't as crucial as I'd have thought, and I actually didn't realize the geometry issue. I'm all good then! :D
  11. Out of curiosity, would a hornet pilot still receive a "OK"4 points, If he's done everything correctly but ends up catching the 4th wire?
  12. +1 Trimming left seems to ease the right bank tendency a bit, but I still need to fight with the joystick constantly more than I feel like I should
  13. Bankler, does the score in the tomcat look right to you? I was only slightly low in the 90 and had a long groove time. But for some reason, that two things cost me 20 points? I assume one extra groove second is worth 3 points? Anyway, any advice on cutting my groove time? I seem to stuck in between 21~23sec, even though I could perform everything from abeam down to the ramp perfectly.
  14. I sandpapered, greased(767A) as well as replaced the O-ring last month, It felt really smooth and all up until today. I've started feeling a noticeable grinding in all four directions when the stick is near the center, and it makes flying with small adjustment very uncomfortable. I can even feel the small vibration caused by the grinding when I touch the base. It was my first time doing all that, so I assume that I either didn't apply enough grease or missed some spots, in which the plastic gimbal is now grinding against the base? If so, I'd like to know which part of the gimbal is responsible for the center area, so I could be sure to grease it real nice this time. Thank you! Update#1: I just disassembled the base, the large spring seems to be the culprit, as the grinding goes away when I remove it. Maybe I needa grease the spring too? Update#2: Yep! Fixed it by greasing the large spring like there's no tomorrow. Hopefully it will last longer this time.
  15. Let me take a guess, did he fail to lock a target in between 20~50nm?
  16. I've been pulling my hair out around this and decided to do a quick test. Target is a tanker at 25,000ft/50nm,I'm slightly below at 20,000ft. Closure rate is way above the filter blind spots. As you can see, I'm able to lock him using PSTT, but switching to PDSTT, RWS or TWS will result in an instant loss of lock(I'm aware of the 2 seconds refresh time). This tends to happen after switching to a 50nm TID range scale. PD modes pretty much stay blind all the way until ~20nm, I'd play with the Azimuth&Bar switches and HCU thumbwheel like crazy to no avail, but when I switch back to Pulse search, the target would be right where I've been scanning the entire time! Could someone please enlighten me?
  17. Moved to appropriate section
  18. May I ask what kind of playstyle do you fly the f14 with?
  19. After flying sims for so many years, I've learned that the best way to 'adopt' such issue is via muscle memory. Play A LOT , test fly a bit and eventually you will know how much is too much.
  20. Just tried that dogfight mission and have contacted the tower. Still no luck.
  21. +1 I've never heard of any landing callouts since day one, be it checked or unchecked.
  22. One thing that should be considered is that AI uses SFM and never makes mistakes, so it's eventually cheating esp. in a dogfight. Although you might suck at fighting them, you will probably be more than good enough to kick some butt against players.
  23. I fly a tiny cessna IRL and have also played the F18 in DCS and F16 in BMS. I've taken 'pitch for speed, power for altitude' into my heart, as well as aware of what it takes to maintain AOA and land on a carrier properly. But dang, It's a whole different level of flying when flying a 'modern jet' with old school flying tricks. What I find to be the most challenging at the moment is the 'power for altitude' part. Normally, you will see an almost immediately result when adjusting the power, but with the tomcat, I see no changes of altitude at all, at least not til I'm at a very low speed(below 150knts). Not only that, there also seems to be some sort of delay to the response too. In the end, all these combined are giving me a very unstable and confusing approach. Any advice? :)
  24. Will I get to see the troops I've deployed actually advance and fight on the ground? Or, Is it just a number game, which the enemy strength will 'magically' be lowered every time I transport the troops to a designated location?
  25. Hey Debolestis! Any chance you'd do an envelope shipping? Shipping cost alone cost $26 to where I live(Hong Kong). If the piece is small enough to fit in an envelope, It should probably cost less than a few bucks to ship it instead.
