You can use Helios without problems, asuming you can see through the VR device !

Hello all! After several weeks trying to install everything (again!) on my new computer, and wait for the the RMA on my new graphic card (the first one was infected by the space invader artifacts), i am operative again! And for start, y made this little video, thats show how to get the position and sizes for the DCS viewports for the second monitor. I know thats a dificult part for a lot of people, and a process of test and redo till you got your corrects numbers. Well, using this system the operation is very easy, and you got the correct numbers in the first attemp, so... no more excuses ! I am preparing aswell, a series of videos showing how to install Helios, the profiles, the export files, and the rest of the process. Usually, in my profile packages you got everything you need to do that operation in a folder called monitor configuration. So... CONFIGURING THE SECOND MONITOR Included in the KA50 Helios profile package, there is a folder called "DCS Monitor Configuration" width a complete folders structure you can drop on DCS World instalation folder. This structure prepare the diferents lua scripts to export the views to the second monitor to represent the Abris, Skhval, PVI digits, Ekran and UV26 digits. IMPORTANT NOTICE: This package is very old and ED made some changes on the folder names. So..... Copy this structure anywhere in your hard drive, and change the name of the folder "scripts" by "script", in other words, remove the "s". Then continue this instructons ! You will need to change the coordinates x and y of every viewport and the width and height sizes of them in the DCS Monitor Configuration\Config\MonitorSetup\2_monitors-KA50.lua Change it before copy to the game folder, and save a copy of this structure, couse DCS world rewrite this files every update! To calculate the correct position of each viewport, run Helios and start the profile. Activate the uv26 panel and take a screenshot using print screen key on the keyboard, and paste the image in any art program. Paint from Windows works well. Put the cursor over the left-up corners of every empty spaces and write down the coordinates. Drag a box from that point to the right_down corner, and take the width and height of the rectangle. Modify the 2_monitors-KA50.lua width your correct numbers. and you can now copy the complete "DCS Monitor Configuration" folder to the DCS game folder TROUBLESHOTING: - Check if you installed the files in the correct place. I recomend to you use JSGME or OVGME to do the job, because in every DCS update those files are rewriten again - Then edit the MonitorSetup file to adjust the viewports to your monitor configuration. (2_monitors-KA50.lua ) - In DCS options, put your max resolution ( this is the total of your monitor resolutions in horizontal and vertical, for example two monitors 1920x1080 placed in horizontal layout, the total resolution is 3840x1080 ) - In DCS options, uncheck full screen option - In DCS options, select the monitorsetup file to use (the one your just edited) ..

Hello. I don't have any experience with 4k in DCS, so i can't offer any solution on that, but i know several people that are using a configuration like you. I really don't know how they do, perhaps they let windows 10 to increase the size of the mainviewport, but i am not sure. So... lets see if someone can help on this.

Hello Mr Burns You can load the profile in the editor and then, delete everything you dont want. In some cases, the image in the backgrouond is complete, and you'll need to cut those in photoshop or any other paint program. The team working on the new Helios 1.4 is working on diferent F18 panels, ready for use, so probably you can do what you want soon, and easy. The F/A-18C is my last profile thats uses the old A10C interface. In the new Helios 1.4 i added a new interface for general purposes and can be used by different airplanes. The conversion between A10C and F18 was made directly on the export files. i Assign every A10C control to the actual F18 one. With the new general interface, that part is much more easy to do. I can assign the diferent controls to the new airplane models. My new Mi-8 v2 profile, already uses this new interface. Rightnow i am finishing a new UH1H version with this new interface too. ..

Tonight, at home, i made some test in 1.3 and 1.4. The resoult is that all the keyboards commands work correct with DCS. so... send keys: press and release a key Press key: press the key and mantain it pressed release key: release the key But i found a possible cause of your error: If you use capital letter to refer to the key, it don't work. You need to use lower case letters to refer to the key. For example: "send keys Keyboard to k" : it work "send keys Keyboard to K" : Don't work ! Anyway, use capital letter when you refer to the Special Keys, for example: "send keys Keyboard to {LSHIFT}k" Hope thats help you. ..

I just tested on my version, and yes, it looks like the send keys commands don´t work. Send keys : dont work at all press key : it works but looks like this just send a key press and do not mantain pressed. release key : dont know if it works, because press key dont work as expected.

Open a text document, configure a simple letter key on the helios profile editor ( without combination, just a simple letter), and test if it work. Make sure you got selected (fucosed) the text document before press the key with helios. Thats way you can see if the profile is really sending the keys

Some months ago, i started a AV8B profile, but the i discover that Bluefinbima was started another one, before me, so i decided move my efforts to another projects. First, implement the new Generic interface in the new Helios version that Bluefinbima was making. Then, with that interface i full remodeled the MI8 with the new Helios 1.4. Now i am working on the refactoring of the UH1H to the new version. Next one? well, can be F14 or F16 or Viggen, lets see...

This happens when you got a trackir device control deactivated or not in use but you got it in the control panel (in dcs options). Check that.
