Its been a while since I used combined arms, like before 1.5 while and I have to say. It's miles better than the last time I ever used it. The big difference I have noticed is that the enemy don't murder you as soon as you hit their theoretical max weapon range. And the other targeting reticules (I was using an Abrams) are very handy. I have a two requests though, simple things (undoubtedly not as simple as they sound though). 1) Is it possible to have a brake axis. Theres a throttle one but no brake one. 2) Is it possible to allow headtracking in the drivers view. Currently its lock looking straight ahead. And lastly a bit more of wild wishlist idea: Could it be possible to create an advanced waypoint action that tells a friendly to attack where a JTAC designates, be it IR, Laser or markpoint, a bit like how in the A-10C you can tell your wingmen to attack at your SPI? For example the player as JTAC marks a lead tank in a convoy and the AI aircraft task with responding to you (or that specific unit) will engage said target. Once destroyed you mark a new target and repeat. It could make for some Single Player fun for JTAC missions. Probably requires mountains of work but one can dream right? :D

Well looking at the server lists I'm lucky to find an open server (yet alone a WW2 server) below 300 ping so I guess multiplayer isn't much of an option (I'm a single player kinda guy anyway). Easiest solution for beating the Spitfire is replacing it with the Mustang in my mission :D. Maybe down the track it won't defy physics as much like how after years of struggling against the gravity defying Mustang it became much easier and more reasonable to fight after one update.

Yeah practise would help a lot, still not sure what strengths the Fw190 has that I can use to my advantage though. Yep ran it twice just then, 4 dead 190s and pristine Spitfires, not a German gun fired. I might look into (the ever daunting) online gameplay soon, I'll need clean up some of my skills in the warbirds first though. What's the best bet to go to that's casual and suits a player from Australia (with rubbish internet and all).

Fully aware that they don't use the PFM but I was probably expecting the AI to be more dumb like the other prop AIs to compensate for my (lack of) ability :D. I had it only the default skill setting but when I reduced it to the easiest I latest a little longer and got a few pot shots off but they still minced me and my wingmen.

I've been flying the German props a bit lately and while I have no issue fighting against AI Mustangs and just cannot seem to fight the AI Spitfires. They just seem to be able to turn on a dim and latch to your tail and never let go. Even my AI wingmen are hopeless to them. So what do you experienced German pilots do to fight the Spitfire? Particularly in the Fw190D-9 given I really don't see many strengths in her. She's gets outturned and I don't find her faster than the others.

I think its been superseded by the Marsden FARP Mod. Link is here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=222775

Hi SUNTSAG, really been enjoying your asset mods. However I have noticed an issue. In a mission I have unrelated to the V1 launch site. When the Oliver Hazard Perrys and Ticonderogas fired Tomahawks and Harpoons. The engine sounds for both weapons seem to have been overwritten by the V1 engine.

Glad to hear, You have made a very nice little jet.

Doesn't seem to have been mentioned (Apologies if it has). Playing on 2.5.4 release version and had a mid air with the L-39 in the dogfight quick mission. The damage suffered didn't effect my flying, As the screenies show I got banged up bad. I managed to fly perfectly stable and land without issue. As you can see the instructor wasn't too impressed :D :P Also cool that you can individual eject one of the crew members and not the other. Probably more of a DCS thing but I noticed once I repaired the jet that with the ejected pilot I could control the flight control surfaces with the ejected pilot.

Doing those tips have made as far as I can tell most fire. Need to lower the light level (I put it in the middle of the day with no cloud to make visibility as good as possible to get them to work) to see more of the tracers. Works much better now. Thanks for your help, now to make it more brutal! Edit: Making it start at 0615 with a cloud density of 10 meant that not a single flak or ZU emplacement fire, but dropping the cloud density to 3 and they came alive again.....weird.

I feel honoured :D (I'll just gloss over the bit when I reached the target, blasted them and then got hit by return fire from a T-72 and had to fly slow and straight back home with a nasty chunk out of the wing......trimmed it out and made it home though.)

Yeah I changed some to compare the ones with the default and the ones that are red and weapons free. Didn't make a difference.

Are they not by default???

I am currently making a few single/co-op missions for me and my buddy to fly. I've noticed that when I put down air defences, some play tests see them fire and sometimes they don't; now I've noticed that line of sight is a bigger thing since trees became collidable but this seems to happen only in my missions. Example: Current mission I've made has about 128 Flak 37s, 76 ZU-23 emplacements and 1 SA-6 Strela along the valley to Gori. Obviously the traverse speed of the Flaks aren't quick enough to hit a fast moving F/A-18 but they at least fire some rounds, the ZU-23s don't fire at all. In 3 test flight attempts though the valley, the first had some flak fire and the only other AA was from the tanks (the target). The second had absolutely nothing firing, no flak, no AA, not even the tanks. Third time again a little bit of flak but no AA. At the target I actually got pummelled by a heap of flak so I think that time I had all the flak guns in range firing on me. Lastly the Stela never fired and at best lifted the launchers up but never tracked. This isn't just this mission though, I've made other missions with AA being inconsistent. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

This is exactly what I came on the forum to ask for, as we get more maps (plus different alternate scenarios with differing and unusual coalitions) the standard modern preset and one custom preset aren't enough I think. Being able to save and name your presets like we do with weapon loadouts would be very useful.

Advice with hardware and stutters
Boomer20 replied to Boomer20's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Update: After reducing preload radius and dropping all the settings to low and still not seeing any improvement, I ran a repair and what do you know, things that use to run somewhat smoothly run smoother and some of my own made missions that didnt run well because of WWII assets now run pretty decently. Thanks for the advice guys, it will come in handy on the long term. -
Advice with hardware and stutters
Boomer20 replied to Boomer20's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ill try my best with my specs. Intel i7 3770 3.4Ghz CPU Gigabyte 8gb DDR3 RAM Nvidia GTX 950 2Gb GPU Can't give the exact model or dimensions of the monitor other than LG with 1920x1080 resolution. Saitek X-55 HOTAS Track IR v5 Anything I'm missing? Well I'm planning on buying the same stick of RAM to double my amount and its $80AUD which is considerably cheaper than upping my video card which is on the realm of $300AUD. While it may be better bang for my buck the added complications of getting a new video card mean the RAM is a quicker fix possibly. -
Advice with hardware and stutters

Thanks guys. I will post my specs when i get home from work. I will try changing the preload radius and see if that helps in the interim. Given that this week has been 30 degress plus (celsuis) and todays going to be 42 for me AND i was a smart cookie and have my pc in probably the hottest room in the house. Heat could be an issue as well. As much as id like to up my card im not in a position to do so just yet. I have other life priorities that are more important. Thats why im aiming to meet the ram recommended requirements (technically my card is within the recommended specs but the ram isnt). And gpus from my local pc store arent cheap while ram is haha. -
Hi guys, Last year I went through an upgrade of my computer, upping the RAM to 8gb (from 4) and going to a GTX 950. Things worked nicely on 1.5. Nowadays I am using 2.2 with Normandy and I'm finding myself suffering from the odd stutter, the frame rate is usually between 45-60 with the exception of when the stutters hit. I have noticed that they occur more frequently when I have the object count gets high (obviously) and more so with the asset pack (the bf-109 instant action dogfight mission is a constant stutterfest in fact). While I haven't looked in depth at performance figures I do see in task manager that I'm always using between 7.6 and 7.9gb of memory. So my question for those that know there hardware. Is my stutter issue to do with lack of RAM and I should invest in more or is it GPU related or a bit of both? I'm not in a position to upgrade my card again but I can easily up the RAM if that can at least make an improvement. Help is appreciated Cheers Boomer

Well there goes that idea of putting it onto that HDD. C drive it stays.
-
Yes FAT32 is the HDD file system. Funny how 1 small thing can stuff it all up. I've been trying to get this working for 5 days and all I needed to do was do it through my C drive haha.
-
Update: It successfully unpack onto my C drive no problem. Its seems my 2tb hdd which had 1.3tb of space remaining was the problem and that it was flagging as having not enough disk space. Im going to try and just copy it over to that install. I just have to change where the registry is looking for it right?
