What should come after Europe 1944?
Boomer20 replied to flare2000x's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I reckon a nice Me-163 Komet would be a good module after Europe 1944. Complete with removable landing trolley that if you don't detach at the right time can either bounce back up and knock your plane out of the sky to the high volatile fuel mixture just exploding like they did. I reckon that would be cool. And maybe an Arado Ar234 Blitz. -
Thanks Wrecking Crew, Ill keep that in mind for the future. However I think my mission is gone, but no matter. I can just remake it, apart from lots of triggers it wasn't a hard one to make. But I will keep in mind to make multiple copies.

So in short I was creating a rather complex mission. Lots of triggers and options. etc. After a large amount of work I went to save and playtest what I had done. However the save function didn't want to work. So I tried Save as and made a new file to save it to. It seemed to work until I got out of ME and back in only to find the the save as version I made was wiped (the map was void of any objects that I had added) so I moved to the old version expecting it to be like the last time I had saved the mission before this issue......NOPE the map was clear as well. So hoping that I can salvage my mission. Is there a way to recover a broken mission? Does DCS create temporary backup files of missions that I can recover? Regards Boomer

MTrenda and mwd2 not exactly what I was asking but thanks for the response. vicx cheers for the link, i believe that that is what I'm after, and I'll look into. As for the will I be scripting eventually, I dunno maybe, I love mission building and delving into the complexities that are linked with the scripting/triggers to make a complex mission. So I might look into how the scripts are made and have a crack. I'd start small first though, doubt a JTAC 9-line is easy to do :) .

Hi Guys For me, I enjoy Combined Arms by making very simple missions where nothing really shoots at you and I just have fun blowing stuff up. But I'm looking into the possibility of making a more complex mission or at least seeing if I can do such a thing. So my question right now is, is it possible to set up a JTAC in single player with alot of scripting? My idea was on the lines of marking a particular target with smoke which would be followed by a bombardment from either a ship, artillery or a fighter/bomber. Further more I wonder if it is possible down the track for the required coding to be implemented by ED to allow for being a JTAC in single player to lase targets etc. Given I have no experience with code I have no idea if this is even feasible.

While a DCS:WWI plane would be cool, i reckon some aircraft from the 20s and early 30s would make for some cool planes, Hawker Furys, the Boeing Peashooter etc. While there weren't any very notable conflicts to base them off they still would be fun.

I would love a bf-109 too! Pretty Please!!!!!! :P

There were pictures a while back of a new model for the Mig-29, I believe once they have ironed out the Flanker that the 29 will be next. Best guess is the 6Dof cockpit will come first and then the afm. All in good time.

HORTON Ho229 v4+ by Polychop Simulations
Boomer20 replied to borchi_2b's topic in Polychop-Simulations
I love the Ho-229, ever since my Medal of Honour Frontline days. I say good luck to you and good luck with your other projects. -
I would love a Mi-8 good sir. Your very kind doing all these giveaways.

Su-27 has a new flight model, you have to handle her with a alot more care than you use to. Su-33 has the old simplified flight model hence why your not experiencing the same issues.

Can I has the Mig-21 please :P (Do i get bonus points for saying please?) And here is a nice drawing of F-86s going against some Mig15s

Hmmmmmmm, I think I may trigger some music to play in one of my training range missions I made and see how it goes. I'll let you know the results  I really feel as though if someone made a story 'movie-esque' style campaign, in-game music could work, I just feel that it depends on the mission/campaign style whether it is suitable. Particularly subjective thing though.
-
But wouldn't you find that it would be too much? Comms are hard enough to hear sometimes and to maintain clarity you would have to drop the music down enough that the music would then become nothing special. In games I like to listen to the soundtrack on its own because i find that when your playing the game you just don't get to enjoy the music cause your just too busy mid-game. Idk maybe you process the music better in game than I do.

I feel more distracted by the shiny roof to even notice that Kim Jong Un was even in that picture. Nice rugged looking joystick there

Dynamic Music is cool yes, however I believe that it would be challenging to implement. Using Freespace (which has dynamic music) as an example, the music changes when the baddies arrive. BUT because you have infinite 360 degree radar range there isnt any surprise about that. In DCS however you are more limited in what you can see and detect, I very well see the music changing prematurely and almost providing an extra 'sense' allowing you to know that enemy fighters for example are close by without you physically being able to know. And i bet issues like that would be a big pain in my peoples behinds. Personally i find the beeping or the RWR, the tone that someone has a radar lock and the alarm that someone has fired a missile at you enough to generate emotion. However if someone was making a story, entertainment driven campaign (which the DCS ME is VERY capable of doing), the addition of dynamic music could possibly be a good asset.

And every system resource is valuable given that frame performance (for many it seems) is so turbulent at the moment.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Boomer20 replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
An Su-22 would be a cool module however i think you put this in the wrong place given that this is a US aircraft wishlist. Recently I'm feeling vintage.......an F4U Cutlass. Is a cool looking jet. -
The pilot hasn't been modelled for a very long time in any of the planes. The A-10C never had one, the black shark has the option but since then it has been in place.
-
This poll is missing an option: It would be nice but there's no rush for it. That and there already plenty on ED's plate to get done first.

I like the last picture of the Su-27 with the lens flare, the colours in that image are really good

Thanks cichlidfan rather embarrassingly I just realised that if you click the search tab button you can change it from threads to posts there without even going into advanced search. thanks anyway.
