  1. All aircraft have different brakes, just like cars. Some are crappy (Su-25T) and some are quite good (A-10C). A 2014 Camaro will have much better brakes than a factory 1969 Camaro. If you're trying to stop on a shorter runway in the 25T it may be a good idea to use the parachute and speed brakes to assist your wheel brakes.
  2. I am unfamiliar with the vast majority of weapons available for the Su-25T. I know that L means laser, U is SEAD, and T is TV guided, but the bombs and rockets especially throw me off. For example I can't tell the difference between the RBK-500 PTAB-10-5 and RBK-500 PTAB-1M. Is there a chart somewhere listing all equipment available to the Su-25T with a description? Thanks!
  3. A-10A or A-10C Hello! I'm only familiar with the Su-25T and UH-1H at the moment, and both are much simpler than the A-10C. I bought the A-10C and FC3 modules on sale and I want to become familiar with some NATO aircraft like the A-10. I'm not sure where to begin though since I hear the A-10C is insanely complicated and I wouldn't even know where to begin with mapping controls for my X-52 Pro. So my question is this. Going from the Su-25T to the A-10, should I start with the A-10A or just try to dive into the A-10C? Thanks.
  4. Anybody have any good KA-50 profiles for the X52 Pro? I can't figure out how to use Saitek's profiler software so I'm kinda screwed when it comes to mapping new profiles myself.
  5. How do you use flares in the Huey? I mapped the flare dispense action to a button on my stick, but it's not working. There must be some sort of system I'm not activating.
  6. So I can still use all the modules I've purchased through Steam in the ED DCS World download? To get this working I need to uninstall Steam DCS, install ED DCS client, and then buy Huey from the ED store?
  7. My DCS World is in Steam, along with all of my Steam purchased modules. I got a "60% off any DCS module" purchase coupon along with my TrackIR 5 in the mail. I'm wondering how to use this coupon to buy the Huey module and have it all work in the same client. Thanks a bunch!
  8. My friend and I have both tried hosting a server with no luck. We do not get any errors, but simply cannot find each others servers in the browser - they just aren't there. I can connect to random servers just fine, but can't find each others for some reason. Both of us have completely disabled firewalls, restarted multiple times, and tried direct IP connecting. When we tried connecting directly by IP the game says "connecting" forever, but upon minimizing the game crashes. I know the default port the game uses is 10308 TCP/UDP. I have no idea if that's open for either of us or not since we do not have router access. Is there a way to change the used port to something I know is open? For example a port ArmA or something uses.
  9. Yeah I read through the quick start guide. Didn't realize there are two seperate weapon safeties/weapon selectors, one on either side of the cockpit. So basically when you switch from rockets to a weapon pod you have to select the appropriate weapon on the selector/safety, then also select the appropriate pod in the copilot seat. You also need to do more to switch to bombs for example. Even still though, the APU in the tutorial would not arm.
  10. I'm in the weapons tutorial in game. I've done all the steps leading up to the PUS arming to finally arm the rockets. The PUS is highlighted and the tooltip says NYC 2 and 3 lights should come on. Nothing ever happens when I press and/or hold the button. The tooltip stays and I cannot advance in the tutorial or most importantly fire my weapons. Is this a beta bug or am I missing something important? Thanks!
  11. I'd like to add the LCTRL + F for full flaps. They are separate functions. EDIT: Sorry I didn't check the last post date. Didn't mean to dig up ancient threads.
  12. Okay so to create a new profile I need to look in game to see which keys are mapped to what commands, then map those keys to the buttons for the X52 Pro? For example 1st trigger = space = fire cannons?
  13. Okay great thanks. I upvoted it and added it to my favorites. I think more than anything I just need help creating profiles for my HOTAS system. I don't know where to start with assigning keyboard commands to joystick buttons. For example, what key do I assign trim to, and what joystick button do I assign it to? I don't know why I'm having such a hard time wrapping my head around this.
  14. Thanks a bunch! I'll check these out and see if I can start learning hands-on. First though I need to figure out how to properly configure my X52 Pro for the Black Shark. I guess I'll look through the KA-50 documentation before I do anything else.
  15. Hello! Brand new to DCS World and Black Shark 2. I just got a new X52 Pro and Black Shark 2. Tried the training in game and it's safe to say I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. Unfortunately I have a hard time learning complex systems by just watching somebody else operate them (training videos), instead I need to interact with them myself while being guided. I'd love to start small and work my way up, but it seems to even start up and/or take off there are many challenges to newbies such as myself. Additionally I do not have my X52 Pro set up with any profiles since I (lack systems and KA50 knowledge) have no idea what keyboard commands to map to which joystick buttons. TLDR: I have no idea what I'm doing and would like some advice. Thanks! I look forward to spending hundreds of hours learning to fly and having a blast!
