  1. This is a very interesting app, I like the premise behind it, but it does not like my DCS install at all. I installed Olympus exactly how the instructions say, started a server, got the connection success notifications on the screen when the mission started, instant CTD every time. Tried it multiple times, tried repairing my DCS install, uninstalled and reinstalled Olympus, but still CTD every time when trying to start any kind of server. Hopefully I'll be able to use it in the future, but doesn't seem that way now. Was hoping to use it to allow my friends that don't fly to play our mission as an RTS on, but it seems that this only allows it if you use the dedicated server install, and I don't have a dedicated server running. I'll keep my eye on this, hopefully the kinks will get worked out and more functionality will be added. Also, does not seem to play well with the "Pretense Dynamic Mission," if anyone was wanting to try. Edit: Seems most of my issues were being caused by a recently changed pagefile size. Please disregard most of my ramblings.
  2. I had to bind mine to a hat, which worked better, and once I got it moving with the hat, I could use my ministick, but it had issues staying in one place once it was used with the ministick. It keeps drifting, even though the axis shows steady.
  3. The only "autopilot" modes in the Apache are attitude hold (working) and altitude hold (not yet implemented). The R (release)/up mode is for you to trim the aircraft for stable flight. It has to be re-trimmed anytime there is a change in torque, or if transitioning from flight to hover. As far as an actual autopilot similar to the BS, there isn't one, the Apache is a very hands on helicopter. However, theoretically once the altitude hold mode is implemented, you could get a stable hover and engage the attitude and altitude hold modes to get it to sit there like the KA.
  4. The rubber power cable for the cockpit light to the left of the CPG bounces around too....
  5. I think it's mentioned in the cold start training mission. I also believe Casmo talks about it in one of his videos. The rotor brake is normally off for start up, the brake setting can be used for slowing the rotor down after the RPM is below 50%, and the lock function is only used when the aircraft is parked on the apron during high winds.
  6. Ah, a man of culture I see.
  7. That just means the product has been delivered to your account. The actual update with the release is coming on 3/17, (Tomorrow for me). No idea on a time, it could be 0900 Switzerland time or 0930 PM EST, only ED knows.
  8. I'm sure there's an Army regulation somewhere that says you can't do that. It would be like taking off your PT belt. Just no.
  9. bought me one, bought my two friends one each. $150 well wasted, I think my wallet is still happy too.
  10. Front is gunner (main job)/co-pilot (only in certain situations), Rear is pilot. Gunner controls hellfires, FCR, and most things to do with the weapon systems. The pilot flies, but also shoots the rockets. The cannon can be used by both positions, but usually the gunner.
  11. As far as I know the F14 ECM suite consists of your jammer, rwr, and electronic chaff/flare dispensers. As far as a mode, well your RWR can filter different signals. Your jammer from what i've seen only has an on or off mode though. Also here is a website to help with the equipment: http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-detail-ecmfairings.htm If you're talking about dispenser modes, there is auto and manual, Jester can control them. I've not dug too deep into the programs though. The center of the Jester wheel will tell you what program you have set under countermeasures. The countermeasure jester menu will allow you to set them up.
  12. I'd say they probably will, but it's most likely not very high on the list of things to do.
  13. That's the video, I was thinking of, and I totally misheard hours. I thought that it seemed kind of low.
  14. From what I've researched, the SW Cool is just for cooling the seeker head of the sidewinders, as you said, and it is limited to about 2-5 minutes of cooling. The MSL Prep switch is for Sparrows and Phoenix missiles guidance (mainly Phoenix). Think of it as seeker head alignment, similar to the Maverick align on the F18 and A10. It gets the missiles ready for launch and makes sure the targeting computer is sending the proper data to the missile. It takes approximately 1-3 minutes to align the missiles, so I usually switch it on prior to takeoff. Also, as soon as you turn it off, the missiles will lose all of the targeting data and have to be re-prepped to be ready again. Hope this helps.
  15. Same issue here, I tried respawning into a different slot and I even went to another server and it still did this.
  16. So it works, however, there is something in the profile that is causing my radio menu to keep popping up constantly. It's really annoying. I am going to try the startup profile you made and see if that fixes it.
  17. I'll let you know, I have it enabled on my system Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk
  18. That's awesome, I'll give it a try, by the way does it work with VIACOM Pro? I literally just started using Voice Attack last night and have yet to get it to work, so hopefully I can figure it out.
  19. I noticed that they used a VA profile in the Episode 3:cold and dark startup video. Is there anyway we can get that profile? I saw quite a few people requesting it on the youtube channel, but haven't found anything in the search on here or google, other than Chaser's profile, which I am trying out now.
  20. Awe, thanks man. I do tend to do well with the ladies :lol::lol:
  21. Just had the same issue. Mine was that I switched weapons; the new weapons showed up on the stores page, but it still showed the old weapons in the top left. I could not use the new weapons.
  22. Lately I've been getting this problem too, I also have Bitdefender. The only fix that I have found is to re-download just the updater portion of DCS and keep a backup copy in a separate location. Re-copy the updater to the proper folder in DCS and hit the repair function. It should work fine to update after that. I've had to do this twice now, it has worked both times, but it is a pain. Just make sure your disabling any mods before updating. Hopefully a fix will be published by someone, either bitdefender or eagle dynamics, that allows the two programs to work along side one another.
  23. The problem I'm having is that some of my mods work and other's don't. I've checked the directories and made sure everything lines up; I've even re-installed them. They must not work in this version of DCS, I guess.
  24. Hello all, I'm sure this has been asked before and I sifted through pages of threads here on the forum and on google, but couldn't find anything. I know A2A is a big FSX addon developer, but why can't they port some of their stuff over to DCS or create some of the stuff for the new WW2 module coming soon. Are there any plans for anything like this in the future? or are A2A and ED mortal ememies or something? I would love to see some of their quality accusim warbirds brought over to DCS. *Please do not turn this thread into a hate/rage fest, troll pit, or any other negative type of thread. Keep comments constructive and well articulated.
  25. I turned it back on and now it works, but I still don't have any autopilot function when in the gunner positions so I have to manually fly the aircraft while gunning. Takes some getting used to to say the least.
