We aren't talking about reflections, we're talking about this weird LED diode looking thing projected on the canopy on the F15, Su-25 etc. It isn't the HUD reflecting, its a weird light spot
The new cloud system is great and appears to be much more stable than the in 1.5 in regards to bugs and artifacts. However, I really miss the old overcast skies of the previous build. There was a distinct waviness to them that created ultra-realistic depth. The new overcast model is totally flat. I understand it may be an issue of compromise (since singular clouds looked horrible and overcast looked incredible now vice versa) between either cloud engine but I wanted to voice my opinion.
Possibly recreating the wavy effect in 2.5 clouds would be a dream. Before/if we get volumetric clouds.
He's referring to the light emitted on the canopy - not on the HUD. Su-25T and Su-25A also have this bug, Su-25T has it on the top left and right sides of the canopy
I'll post photos when I get back home.
In the Su-25A in the daytime there is a small LED above the HUD right smack in the middle of the front canopy glass. In the Su-25T, in the nighttime there is are small white LEDs on either side of the canopy frame. Are these supposed to be there in 2.5?
Maybe the Russians are pimping out their rides with aftermarket LEDs

I've got it set to 512, but it seems like this problem is based on the cockpit model. For example. my Su-25T cockpit or MiG-21 cockpit set at 512 renders very high PIP but all FC3 PIP renders are extremely poor quality
I think DCS 2.5 has a jittery nature even at 60fps. If camera smoothing was implemented a lot of that jitteriness would disappear. Also, to generate a better sense of speed ground objects (static objects) should blur slightly like in newer racing/driving simulators such as GT5 or Fernbus Simulator. I think it would create a great sense of immersion while reducing perceived stutter.
