  1. So, we know what will be in the beta, but I'd be more interested in what's still missing. Off the top of my head, it seems refueling and INS will be missing. This is fine, I'm very excited about what we do get! I'd just like to know what I'm unable to use yet. Can we put together a list of things that have yet to be implemented after initial beta release?
  2. ED has been doing the Weekend News recently, and they seem to get posted (and emails sent out) around 1500-1600 GMT very consistently. If nothing else, I think we'll hear the story then.
  3. Let's not go there...the F-35 is a thread killer. This thread is derailing as it is.
  4. Interesting, thanks. I wasn't aware that the aircraft could be "aware" of it's current loadout. Is this defined by a data cartridge upon loadout (a la A-10C)?
  5. Maybe I'm too tired, but why would this show as a failure? Also, I bugged you for a question on /r/Hoggit. Plan on stopping in soon? ;)
  6. Just had my last final...Fluid Mechanics...I just might sleep for 18 hours anyway :smilewink:
  7. A good rule (that I've heard, and naturally can't source) for "older" non-A-G aircraft is 1-1.5 km/h drift. I should clarify, I mean specifically 4th gen.
  8. Yup. I'm still adamant we can expect something tomorrow. If not an actual release (with updates to the clients), then at least something in the Weekend News about what's up. Otherwise, I'm trying not to get too excited or worked up, I have one more final to do today and I need to finish stronk.
  9. Some more info, seems I'm unable to connect to the update servers: === Log opened UTC 2015-12-17 01:48:34 INFO : DCS_Updater/2.6.4.30 (Windows NT 6.2.9200; Win64; en-US) INFO : cmdline: "A:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" --apply repair STATUS: Initializing... 10. :dontgetit:
  11. Wow...we're running out of things to talk about.
  12. I figured you were...your demeanor seems more 'merican than Zeus'.
  13. Well, most of us have, like, you know, jobs and shit. If not that, I think he means that the devs will essentially drop responsibility for us to toy around for the weekend, where it's common for most developers to release at the beginning of the week so that they can patch any huge problems by the end of the week.
  14. Regardless of where devs are, release will go on ED (Moscow) time. Considering it's 4:22 AM in Moscow, I think you're good for at least a few hours of sleep ;) My bets are still on Friday. ED likes Friday updates.
  15. Mixed bag, I believe. Larry (Zeus) lives in Ecuador, though I don't know if he's Ecuadorian.
  16. Guys anybody else not updating to 1.5.2? My updater sees nothing; still on 1.5.1.
  17. ED has an obvious preference for Friday updates. Once in awhile, Saturday or Monday if there's an unexpected delay getting it out the door. EDGE was an outlier, they weren't going to wait for a Friday, they released it ASAP. Just look at the dates for the changelogs. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147601
  18. I don't know, but I want to, so I'll guess: Either the wing root blending or the nose cone. (Total guesses.)
  19. The latest development (if you want to call it that), if anybody wants to follow along. Still waiting on /u/LevelPulse to acknowledge the fact that he's lost the bet.
  20. Zeus, would you guys consider a refueling video? I know it's a dry topic to say the least, but it would be easy and help satiate my appetite for a few days :)
  21. I still believe there should be a slight delay (perhaps just 0.5 sec), as there will still be that "hard" stop at the elastic limit, and the pilot would need to again overcome the new mechanical reaction.
  22. A classic match-up :)
  23. Agreed. After thinking more, I think that the timer is the way to go...in both ways, as PiedDroit says. Perhaps release after, say, five seconds?
  24. Why are you so sure of this? It's not at all uncommon to keep from advertising it so openly, as they simply can't guarantee it. And in places like the ED forums, you'll have severe disappointment associated with that.
  25. Here's to hoping it's not this size of Nevada...
