  1. Missed that. Thanks!
  2. Towsim, Separate from the "tanker not responding issue", which appears to be resolved by a completely *clean* install, can you confirm you will be removing the new function which couples the Rotary selector to the PTT in the A10? This is less urgent than the previous issue of course, but should be fixed as it has the potential to cut off comms while transmitting. Thanks again for all you and the team have done. Regards
  3. I just got it to work. I was frustrated, couldn't drop it. It's working now after two re-installs. Again, after the first re-install, it wasn't working. During the second re-install, I did the following: 1. Close TS. 2. Uninstall Aries using Program menu. 3. Go to TS install directory, and delete AriesRadio folder from here: ...\TeamSpeak 3 Client\plugins\ 4. Go to DCS World install directory and delete the AriesWings directory. 5. Re-install Aries as per previous instructions. Single player, multiplayer, old missions with Advanced Waypoints, and comms menu configured freqs are all working now. I'll get other members of the 476th who are also having the problem to follow these steps to confirm if this is indeed a solution.
  4. Me too :) I will stand down for now. I don't really know what to make of this. The heads of my squadron have indicated the issue isn't sufficient for us to revert to TARS, but being unable to refuel certainly drastically affects play. Do let me know if there is anything else I can provide to help you diagnostically. Regards
  5. The first post in this thread has been polished a bit with a cleaner page to listen to the podcast from. Thanks!
  6. Leto, the miz file I provided to Towsim was created in the latest version of DCS. It's not an old DCS mission. It's literally the simplest tanker mission I can generate. The Advanced Waypoint Menu is not touched at all. By default, adding a tanker to a mission will use Comm freq 251.00. Towsim replied yesterday that he observed the exact behavior I did. Which is as follows: disconnect Aries from export.lua, and the tanker responds. reconnect Aries in the Export.lua, and the tanker does not respond. It doesn't get any simpler than that. I am even willing to record a video of my desktop to illustrate this to you if it helps. I am not observing this behavior at all. This is the key question. I can create a brand new, extremely simple miz (which I just did a second time). This time changing the freq in the Comm menu to 225, and again, not touching the Advanced Waypoint Menu at all. I do have to create a single simple waypoint for the Tanker to fly to, because if not, it won't activate at all as an available tanker in the AI radio menu. But again, advanced waypoint menu is not touched. With Aries activated, no tanker response on 225. With Aries de-activated, tanker responds every time. I am happy to test this. Ideally, can you provide your miz file this time? Also, I am happy to put it on my dedicated server, provide you with a password, and we can test together from a common environment. Again, this, sounds like a different issue than what I am reporting, as I'm not observing this behavior at all. Thank you again for your time.
  7. Silver_Dragon, I appreciate the interest! Since this podcast was meant for the entire DCS Community, I would love to have it translated. I spent a little time researching this, and it seems to be a tremendous effort. There is apparently some software that will translate audio recording to text (which can then be translated to another language, using something like Google), but I don't know much about these programs or cost. Doing this manually (as it is done by journalists and reporters) appears to be very time consuming. I read one response that 15 minutes of talking takes about an hour to transcribe. This episode was almost two hours long, I unfortunately can not spend the time to do this. If someone is aware of a method to do this easily, by all means go for it. I also give permission to anyone to do this manually and distribute this in any language if you wish. My sincere apologies that I can't be more helpful.
  8. Thanks for your work, Towsim. Admittedly, I am having the same issue with the tanker on VHF/AM as well, but I'll wait for your fix before testing anymore. I did not test the VHF/AM radio as exhaustively as I did the UHF based Tanker, so I don't want to waste your time.
  9. I believe you are describing a situation with Easy Communications. However, I don't believe it's relevant. I just tested by separating the rotary selector switch, with Easy Communication on and off. Same issue. Again, please know that I'm trying to be helpful. I'll try to be very clear as to what's happening: 1. This was just tested on two multiplayer dedicated servers, two different missions. I am happy to share those with you, BUT... see point two. 2. I also just tested by creating a new single player mission, EXTREMELY simple: One A10C at Batumi sitting at runway, One Tanker. With Aries enabled, the tanker does not respond at all (forget about pre-contact... he never responds). 3. With Aries disabled, the tanker responds 100% of the time. In this single player miz (attached below), the tanker's frequency is UHF 251.-- I agree that the rotary switch functionality does not *appear* to be causing the issue, but I can reproduce the issue 100% of the time with Aries enabled, and I can never produce it with Aries disabled. Also, I want to be clear, I am not including other wingman, because I am trying to isolate the issue. Please let me know if I can do anything else to assist your t-shooting. Here's the simple single player miz I created: (when you click the link, there will be a down pointing arrow at the top to download the complete miz) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1sITGjSP1KeLWllRk9mWUZFTmc/view?usp=sharing Thanks for your effort.
  10. @EVERYBODY This keeps going in circles. To try to put this issue to bed for once and for all, I will try to say this as simply as possible: 1. In Aries, Towsim added the functionality to ROTATE the rotary selector switch when a particular radio is pushed. This may be correct for the Huey. It is definitely not correct for the A-10C. That is, the A-10C should always be on VHF on the rotary dial on your left panel. REGARDLESS of whether you're pushing the UHF PTT. 2. We suspect this might be the cause of the tanker problems. I'm attempting to troubleshoot and provide Towsim more info now.
  11. Sniped by Astiles5470 :) That's what we suspect. Going to try to prove it.
  12. Thanks for the responses, I will conduct additional testing and provide additional info. And to be clear Towsim, I'm not being critical of your software for not being error free. We genuinely want this to work, we just instructed ~30 members to update. We can live with errors, we're just trying to understand what/why something might not be working. As I wrote, this issue also appears to affect AWACS (and since I wrote this, someone has reported problems with AI Tower now as well). Of note, our missions have multiple (and always have) had multiple tankers, so it's not always ...F6 -> F1. Also, we do not use "simple" communications. i.e. we must tune the particular radio to the frequency of the tanker. (let's say UHF 365.45 in one mission) and then contact the tanker on that freq. When I do this, I confirm in the Aries radio panel and in game radio are both showing UHF 365.45, however the tanker does not respond with Aries enabled. I will do more testing today and reply. Including tests with a single tanker.
  13. Towsim, Quite a few members, though not all, of my squadron are having the following experience: With Aries enabled, the tanker does not respond to refuel requests. That said, the tanker *does* go into a refuel state when approached (lights on, boom extended) but pre-contact is not an option in the AI radio panel. Commenting out the Aries export.lua entry resolve the problem, but of course disables Aries. :) Other members have advised the same is true for AWACS, but I have not tested first hand. I can repro this consistently.
  14. Sounds cool! I like the idea, sort of standardizing in a way video sharing. (But I do think it's more about Videos than anything... see your own tags ;) )

  19. No worries, Slipp. Not having a website isn't an issue. Just wanted folks to have a chance to follow up with whoever appears on the episode.
  20. Thanks X-Man! Will do. For everyone else, I'd prefer if you replied here as opposed to PMs! If you're too shy to post your squadron in this thread, are you going to be any more comfortable talking about it on air?
  21. Hello Virtual Squadrons of the DCS World! For an upcoming episode of the 476th Podcast, I'd like to invite the heads of a couple virtual squadrons to join me for an open conversation about your squadron. Reply here (one reply per organization please) and let us know if you'd like to participate, with the type of squadron you represent. (feel free to post a link to your website if you like so we can check you out!) Note: WW2 squadrons, not for you just yet! Please don't be offended, I'm going to do an episode dedicated to you guys soon, and I want it to be focused on your craft, so I'm keeping you separate intentionally for now. Thanks for your consideration, I'm really excited to get to know you and share with the DCS community what makes you interesting. We'll do this type of episode more than once, so If I don't select you, don't worry, we plan on doing this podcast for quite a while.
  22. Thanks guys for all of the replies and PMs. My apologies for the inconsistent audio quality, it will get better. And next episode will have members outside of our group participate, though it's always good to share.
  23. Episode 2 is out now. Available at the original link in this thread. Enjoy!
  24. Folks, Episode 2 is here. I don't want to create a new thread per episode and pollute the community news forum, so I'll reach out to the moderators to get their opinion on how to manage a periodical thread. If you'd wish to reply, please do so on the original thread which is probably actually above this in the Community News section. As of today, we've had over 1200 listeners to episode 1, so we've far exceeded our own expectations! As I've said before, I will continue to improve. Listen or download here: http://www.podcastgarden.com/podcast/476podcast Subscribe here: http://www.podcastgarden.com/podcast/podcast-rss.php?id=5090 or iTunes store. Thanks and enjoy! As many of you asked, here are the near term plans: Ep 1: Joining a vSquadron (complete) Ep 2: Building/Maintaining a vSquadron (complete) The remainder are NOT in order, but these are the near term plans: Ep 3: 3rd party developer Ep 4: Senior members of other vSquadrons discussing their organizations Ep 5: Mission Designers Ep 6: Cockpit Builders Ep 7: Must have Mods/Add ons Ep 8: WW2 Squadrons Ep 9: 3rd party developer Again, subject to change in order, and I hope by Ep 3 to have Q/A from listeners, but there's lots to sort out.
  25. Grayson! Joyride and El Roto proposed this to me last week as an episode. You are now the 3rd, so it's clearly a good idea, and I'd love to have you guys. I was going to reach out to you guys after I wrapped up Episode 3. I'm going to coordinate through Joyride... really looking forward to it!
