  1. Episode 9 is LIVE: TACVIEW Vyrtuoz (http://www.vyrtuoz.com) joins the podcast to talk about Tacview. Take a listen here: Episode 9: http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php?294-476th-Podcast-Episode-9 I'm extremely pleased to finally get to interview the legendary Frantz (Vyrtuoz) to discuss the Tacview product. I consider us fortunate to have his level of talent and passion behind the product! We really hope you enjoy the listen and take advantage of the tool as much as we do. Also, I know I said this episode would feature Leatherneck, but due to now *very public* :smilewink: circumstances, that episode should be next. As always, please enjoy, more great thing are on the way from the 476th! Credits: Commercial: Produced by Ragtop & Dojo of the 476th, performed by Ragtop, Graywo1f, and Dojo.
  2. Towsim, while we're taking a fresh look, as the "crash on exit" issue is still present from version 1.2 to 2.0, can you point us to why this happens? It is a relatively small thing, but an annoyance still. I suppose I shouldn't assume, so I'll ask: Do you and other members of the 10th experience this issue? It's been consistent for me since 1.2.
  3. FYI Towsim et al, I tested Aries in 2.0/Nevada; it's working. I was/am concerned that the terrain masking features may be an issue with the new map, but at least wanted to report initial success.
  4. Thanks Big Bubba! (He likes that, everyone. Trust me.)
  5. Episode 8 is LIVE: Virtual Airshows Sawamura of the VAT Berkuts (https://www.facebook.com/VATBerkuts?fref=ts) and Rhino of the Virtual Blue Angels (http://virtualblueangels.com/) join the podcast to discuss Virtual Aerobatics and Virtual Air Shows. Take a listen here: Episode 8: http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php?292-476th-Podcast-Episode-8 First and foremost, an apology to both Sawamura and Rhino, as this episode was in fact recorded a few months ago. I could provide great excuses, but what does it matter? It's late, and that's the net of it. If any of you know Sawa, you know how supportive he is of the community, particularly in his management of Virtual Air Shows, and he was no different in supporting me in the production of this episode. He makes you want to work with him, by sheer attitude alone. This of course has left me rife with guilt. Alas, I've already taken steps to remedy this going forward by enlisting help with post production. No details for now... actions, not words. Additionally, it was a huge honor to have Rhino on, who we wanted as a guest from the first episode. Finally, thanks to Sawa and my friend "FAQ" of the Virtual Blue Angels, we were able to make that happen. We're also going to do a dedicated VBA episode in the future to get to know the team in depth. Originally, this particular episode was supposed to be released before Virtual Air to help promote the show, so be mindful of the mentions of the upcoming show towards the end, as Virtual Air has already happened earlier in September. I'm such a fan of these guys, and will be promoting all future Air Shows on the Podcast whether they are on it or not. Additionally, Episode 9 is already recorded, and is in post production now, and features Leatherneck. Stay tuned! As always, please enjoy.
  6. Indeed. I want to be very clear, the "poor" results have nothing to do with your design, which is excellent. It's the underlying sensor that is requiring the special consideration. My initial dead zone changes have certainly improved the accidental slew, but will need some tweaking.
  7. I should add, I'm going to attempt a wider deadzone to see if that resolved the primary issue of accidental slew. I'll report my findings.
  8. Edouard, I was able to quickly get some samples produced based on your design. I flew a mission with my squadron last night, and had poor results. Admittedly, this was my first flight after having just installed the slew, so I'm not ready to say this is bad yet. Please see the following quick video I recorded. Really, it's exactly as you say in your article. I will continue to run it for another week to see if things improve, as it's too early to make a full judgement. In any case, thank you tremendously for your effort.
  9. Not yet, but I did check it out when you notified me of it previously. I do intend to try it, and I appreciate the suggestion.
  10. Nice Sig :) Much rather have your voice on the commercial... just had to get the damn episode out already.
  11. Episode 7 is LIVE: LotATC DArt and ANE join the podcast to discuss LotATC Take a listen here: Episode 7: http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php?287-476th-Podcast-Episode-7 The wonderfully patient and community supportive DArt (http://forums.eagle.ru/member.php?u=55442) of 3rd Wing is joined by the dedicated ANE of the 132nd Virtual Wing to discuss human air controlled traffic using the LotATC plugin for DCS world. I'd like to extend a special apology to both DArt and ANE for the extreme delay of this episode. They were kind enough to lend us their time, and I unfortunately had a completely unforeseen set of personal delays. I hope all will appreciate the episode and checkout LotATC, it's just pretty F&(*cking cool software! **This episode's commercial is written by Dojo and Tigercat Next episode is already underway folks! As always, please enjoy!
  12. Beast, thank you very much for the reply. I actually flew with my squadron for the first time in 2+ months 2 days ago, so I'm getting back slowly but surely. Going to try to get the next episode will be out no later than this coming Monday. It's been recorded, but unfinished for over 2 months! I don't *believe* the content is stale, and I'm super appreciative for the patience of my guests on that episode.
  13. Folks - There's been an extreme delay in these, due to real life stepping on my neck for the past month or so, haven't even been in the pit! Rest assured, the 476th Podcast lives. I've actually had an episode recorded for a month now, that I just haven't had time to finish and release. Thanks for your patience, and I'm looking to implement a scheduled release period going forward to help me organize a bit better. Stay tuned and thanks for listening. -dojo
  14. Cheers and Congrats, X-man!

From now on, I vote we call Grimes Mommy. Rep inbound.
  16. Thanks DArt for the extremely quick reply. My apologies if it's a known bug... a few of us were talking on our TS about it, and I admittedly did not read your full thread before posting. We're standing by! Thanks again!
  17. Hey DArt, we noticed that after our server was running for a few days, LotATC seemed to stop working. We can still connect, but we're not getting all of the data. Is this a known issue? Our server tends to run for a few weeks at a time with a single miz. Thanks! Btw, if it helps, so that you can see what we are experiencing, I can ask our command members for permission to let you connect to our LotATC instance so you can observe what we're seeing. If we restart the mission, it is fine. But after a few days, we pretty much only get airport data.
  18. So qualitatively it was better, but levels were uneven. Got it. Thanks for the feedback!
  19. @Towsim. Is it possible to make the Radio Quality settings "savable"? I know that a handful, but not all, of the values in the Radio Quality settings can be changed in the .ini file. In this case, we'd have to change the Horizon setting each flight. Not a big deal, but being able to save these settings would be ideal, especially since this menu is only accessible once in sim. Thanks in advance.
  20. Thanks for the tip, I'll certainly check them out before next episode. Out of curiosity, did the last episode sound better? I've been trying a couple new things.
  21. Thanks all @Ian, I use to use the mission planner as a briefing tool when part of a previous squadron. It was clever, though when it was abandoned, we stopped using it. I certainly understand how changes in DCS can make it difficult for a 3rd party to maintain the integrity of their mods and add-ons. Again, this is the reason native support for such essential tools is desired. But I'm certainly grateful for your effort and the ideas it inspired. I'm going to be playing with Witchcraft soon. ;)
  22. @Towsim, No, it was never enabled. To confirm, I've checked the HTML file that renders from the TS Aries menu which says Protocol Function is disabled, as well as the fact that the check box in the ARD Configurator is unchecked. Will standby for next version, but at least for me, this doesn't seem to be the issue. Thank you as always! p.s. - to be clear, it is Teamspeak that is crashing, not the simulation.
  23. Towsim et al, We've been doing quite a bit of flying with 1.973, and mostly things are stable However, many members, myself included, are getting random TS crashes. Rejoining TS during flight after a crash, Aries becomes half duplex: the recovered crash member can hear others, but no one can hear them. I can assure you that all programs are installed with admin privileges and are being run within an admin context. Please let me know if I can provide anything (logs, etc) to be useful. The crashes aren't consistent, but they are frequent enough to be problematic. Approximately 1 in 5 flights
  24. It's been a blast having you aboard, and personally, this is my favorite commercial so far, Morgan ;)
  25. Episode 6 is LIVE: MISSION DESIGN Grimes and Graywo1f join the podcast to discuss mission design. Take a listen here: Episode 6: http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php?286-The-476th-Podcast-Episode-6 The ridiculously multi-talented Graywo1f and Grimes join me to discuss mission design within DCS. Get to know them and how they approach design with the mission editor as well as external scripts. It's a great listen, even if you've never approached mission editing yourself. As always, please enjoy!
