Indeed. Just tried an A-10c startup, and was frustrated beyond belief with this issue. Before I start forum surfing, any known workarounds other than literally binding every switch at the moment?
-
That would be epic! Thanks in advance for your time.

So I've been dying to fly this mission again, decided to try it this AM. It appears most of the scripting is working in 1.5! The exception is picking up troops. I don't have that option in the F10 menu. Is that just bugged or can it be fixed? Seriously drooling over this mission. Without exception, it's the most replayed mission I've ever done, and I'm primarily an A-10 pilot!

dooom, My friend. I can't stop talking about this mission. Is it still dead? Any possibility of reconstituting. I miss it dearly...

New Thrustmaster gear coming soon
Dojo replied to gillers's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
As promised... http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2766355&postcount=1 -
Hey folks, I'm going to attend the Thrustmaster 25 year event tomorrow evening (May 4th, 2016). 18:30 local (2230Zulu). My tweets should** largely consist of images of the hardware they plan on showing off. If you're interested in receiving images and updates during the event, follow me here: @476th_vFG on Twitter, where I will temporarily be at the helm of the 476th Twitter account. Now, for those who don't use Twitter, my apologies, but I won't be able to pause and upload images elsewhere during the event. I'm sure there will be images online at some point afterwards. **For those who've followed this event, there's been a suggestion that Thrustmaster will not show off any new hardware, but will instead exhibit their existing line up. None of us can say for sure. However, this seems odd given that the invite explicitly describes unveiling a new squadron of joysticks and other flight sim hardware, and that they've invited media. Additionally, a low cost rudder option has already been showing up around the web that runs counter to that claim. Could it be they're keeping details under wraps? Who knows! But I'll know soon enough, and so will you.

476TTP 3-3.A10 Combat Aircraft Fundamentals - Public Release
Dojo replied to Eddie's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Not in the slightest, this type of feedback is very much appreciated. We actually have an internal thread that is essentially exactly the format you've reproduced here. We're really appreciative of the help! While everything may not be acknowledged individually, we're definitely reading! -
Folks! In an upcoming episode of the podcast, we're going to try to answer your questions on our newly released -3. Not sure what I'm referring to? See here! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2755626#post2755626 The intent of the episode will be to simply provide you an overview of how to use the document, how it was created, and some of the real world concepts modified for DCS which it includes. While focused on the A-10, we believe many of the principles taught may be universally applied, but especially for strike aircraft. As the doc is still being updated with images and other items, note that we are constantly proofreading it ourselves, and will update the original post above as necessary. Any noted "errors" or issues you find should be reported either in the release thread above, or at the 476th forum. Let's keep this thread about either conceptual or tactical questions you might have. If you've got questions you'd like our SMEs to answer on the episode, ask here! For the record, expecting this to take some time as folks crank through it, there's no rush ;)

New Thrustmaster gear coming soon
Dojo replied to gillers's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Haven't decided, but If I do it live, I'll mostly likely use the 476th Twitter as a medium. If I do it after, it'll just be a forum link to my photo storage. I was planning on posting in the community news area to maximize visibility. I like it. I've been working on my wrist flick all day. -
This is exactly how I envisioned the podcast being used, which is why it's audio only, and I'm very pleased to hear others do the same! Please don't misunderstand me: I love that others are doing video podcasts, demos, news reports, and other general Youtubery. As I'm frequently engaged away from the computer, I listen to a lot of podcasts (news, sports, etc), and I wanted to provide that option for our hobby. It's a learning experience, trying to get better at it! Thanks for the continued support everyone, apologies for the amplification artifacts in the last episode, and more to come! -dojo

New Thrustmaster gear coming soon
Dojo replied to gillers's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Received a great response from Thrustmaster this morning to my question of am I allowed to take/print photos immediately during the event: I'm sure you're all terribly disappointed that you won't get to see me in all of the photos. -
New Thrustmaster gear coming soon
Dojo replied to gillers's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey Folks, I'll be attending the event. If they let me, I'll take a ton of photos and post back in the community thread. That may be unnecessary as there's a good chance the lineup is publicly announced (i.e. via their website) after the event, but I'll plan to do it anyway, just in case. I've speculated as much. Star Citizen and other games have announced partnerships with other hardware producers, and I suspect Thrustmaster won't want options to be limited. However they did say squadron of joysticks, so it'll be interesting to see. To be clear, I have no more information than you do at this time. The event is small, only 60 invites, so on the chance that one of you also live in NYC or are visiting, and are attending, hope to see you there! -dojo -
As promised, episode description and link here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2745705&postcount=200 Note, I couldn't ask all questions as thoroughly as you provided in all cases, please feel no slight in this. However, as we will have opportunities to speak with Pete in the future, I believe we'll get the answers we all seek. Please check out the episode in the podcast specific thread and enjoy.

Episode 12 is LIVE: Pete "Olie" Olson, Retired A-10 Pilot It happened. I got to talk to an A-10 pilot, and hopefully my fanboy-ism doesn't detract from your enjoyment of the episode! Pete is incredibly giving with his time, and the episode is quite long. Listen to it in chunks if you must, but do listen! We start by getting to know Pete, and then transition into the A-10 specifically with listener questions peppered in. Also, Pete has agreed to come back multiple times to conduct subject training as requested. We'll coordinate/organize this at the 476th in the future, and be as considerate of Pete's time as possible. NOTE: We had several technical issues during recording, one of which required I drastically amplify and level Pete's sound. You will hear him clearly throughout, but the amplification affected all background noise as well, and introduced some ghosting artifacts. Please know that I'm aware of the issue, and there wasn't much I could do without taking countless hours of tedium to correct. I do not believe these issues detract from the content! Also, I did incredibly little editing on this episode, so as not to deprive you of any of his responses. MORE on PETE! ASSIGNMENTS 1. The episode was recorded earlier today, so no more questions at this time! However, Olie agreed previously, and again while recording today that he'd come back and conduct more focused discussions (we went everywhere today), and even some actual training sessions in the future. I plan on doing very little cleanup/editing on this particular episode so as to give you as much Olie as you want to consume, so it'll be up in the next day or so. Thanks for participating and for your continued support of the 476th Podcast!
-
Thanks everyone for jumping on the thread! I'm going to need to organize/group these a bit so that we're not jumping all over the place subject wise during the interview. This may make it difficult to give credit individually to each of you for your questions, but I'll make an attempt somehow. Please forgive me if I don't ask all of them, as some were answered in the previous recording, although a few I do believe are worth re-asking in a different manner. Thanks again for your participation, and I'll try to get the episode out as soon as I can manage! -dojo

Reaper, for shame! Of course, I shouldn't expect much of an Airbus pilot ;) This won't be a live session at all, it will be an upcoming episode of the podcast. See here: http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php?257-podcast

Folks, Coming up, the 476th Podcast will have the honor of hosting a real A-10 pilot, with a tremendous amount of experience, and willingness to share. Olie, who some of you may have heard speak previously during the awesome Teamspeak session arranged/hosted by DaBomb and the 1st Cav, has agreed to come on the podcast to allow us to further get to know him, and of course ask more questions! This is just too great of an opportunity for us to keep to ourselves. I would encourage anyone who hasn't heard him speak before to check out the original event, which has the audio and transcript of previous questions asked, found here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2637329&postcount=70 If you have questions you'd like me to ask, please ask them here, as I'd hate to make this a "476th only" fest! But I will if I must ;) We're going to attempt to record this week, so if you have them, get your questions in soon-ish.

Just saw this, could only listen to a few mins so far... will certainly give it the full ear. Awesome job and congrats!

Grimes, I have nothing valuable to add to the discussion, other than to say that this is the thing I'm most excited for coming to the sim at the moment. Now go make us proud, you coding freak of a man.
