  1. I'd love to see some of these updates in our beloved sim someday. https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/here-comes-10-warthog-steroids-new-weapons-and-more-80001
  2. I'm seeing the Warthog for $368 at Walmart as of 7/8/19
  3. I have a TrackIR sitting in a drawer collecting cobwebs now that I have the Rift S (sold the original Rift) But I am desperately hoping for improvements and mass production of hand controllers that will still allow me to use my HOTAS in a more immersive way. -=gos=-
  4. Pre-ordered mine today as well. Will be selling my old one when the new one arrives.
  5. Where did you score a real A-10a throttle? That's awesome!
  6. I'll be firing up the Cat this weekend, is there a default profile active for the Warthog or will I be tasked with setting up one from scratch? -=gos=-
  7. Awesome, thanks for sharing! Now to figure out how to get these into my CNC machine :) Any tutorials out there on getting a pdf converted into a file that Candle can recognize? -=gos=-
  8. No worries, if I can learn more about what I'm trying to do, hijack away!
  9. It was some craft paint I stole from my wife :)
  10. Actually, the font I used was just plain old Arial in Fusion 360. I tried to DL that font too and couldn't get it to work either. -=gos=-
  11. I bought a cheap CNC machine too just to try both out. Now I just need to figure out how to cut a panel instead of printing it.. Baby steps. -=gos=-
  12. Here's my 1st test at 3-D printing panels for a Warthog pit. As you can see, it's kind of rough but I believe it will be functional enough for a VR pit. I have a long road ahead with learning and building, but that's the fun part, right? -=gos=-
  13. Excellent work as usual.
  14. Excellent, thanks for the link.
  15. Very cool. I was just wondering how this ended up. Good to see it's still a WIP. Tell me about your panels. Did you make them yourself? -=gos=-
  16. I'm running some tests on my 3d printer with some A-10 panels. Right now I'm working on the face plate to the electric panel. On my 1st test I made the panel 4mm thick and I thought that was a bit too much. I'm now running a 2mm thick test to see how that turns out. I'm learning Fusion 360 per your suggestion and so far so good. I have a lot more to learn though. I need to figure out how to get the bottom layers to play nicely with the top layer and then figure out some sort of box or rail system to mount them in. And then, of course, I need to order the electronic components and figure that all out. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your process. -=gos=-
  17. Wow, very nice. And clean!
  18. Resurrecting an old thread here. I've downloaded Lars' A-10 panels and cannot open them in Fusion 360 or FreeCAD. Anyone have a link to newer files or ones that were converted to another file type? I'm wanting to 3d print some panels and so far this is the most complete set I've been able to find with a search. If there are others out there please point me in the right direction. -=gos=-
  19. Do you have a link for that deal? Never mind, got it.
  20. Thanks for the reply. I'm not a fan of subscription software that I'll only use occasionally, I'll look into FreeCAD or something similar.
  21. John did you mention what CAD & slicer program you're using?
  22. I just got my 1st 3D printer and a CNC router. I'm looking forward to printing/cutting some panels for the A-10C. Your stuff is certainly an inspiration and I hope you share some of your files for us to use when you get the chance. -=gos=-
  23. Amazing looking stuff you're creating.
  24. I want to do this, please keep posting your progress and any step by step instructions you may have! -=gos=-
  25. No worries, their stuff does look pretty nice. I wonder if they'd be willing to give a discount for multiple A-10 panels :)
