  1. First of all, sorry if this has been already discussed. I'm totally new to paint skin and I'm trying to understand how paint a skin works in DCS world. I'm getting confused about BORT and SERIAL number. In the description LUA file I can read: For waht I can understand, using true instead false in the BORT and SERIAL rows, I just want to use default P-51 serial and bort number placed in the zipped texture file. I opened the zipped and found the bort and srial file...they are a list of number and figures...now the question is...if I want to use a specific bort number ( let's say....5 instead 3) how can I set the selected number? Same for serial. And...can I use a custom bort and serial numbes? One more question: how about DECAL row? Sorry for question and poor english...hope I explained my doubt.

    How to paint pilot

Thanks a lot for feedback GeorgeLKMT. Fixed the helmet issue using correct material name. So...the complete pilot customization should be done using: {"pilot_P51_patch", 0 ,"pilot_P51_patch_custom",false}; {"pilot_P51_body", 0 ,"pilot_P51_body_custom",false}; {"pilot_P51_helmet_B", 0 , "pilot_P51_helmet_custom",false}; {"pilot_P51_head_A", 0, "pilot_P51_head_custom", false}; assuming the dds files named as: pilot_P51_patch_custom.dds pilot_P51_body_custom.dds pilot_P51_helmet_custom.dds pilot_P51_head_custom.dds Just a weird ModelViewer issue...since even if I load my custom skin into the viewer, I see the pilot with the old skin. While in game, loading the custom Aircraft livery, I get the proper skin for the pilot too....since the description.lua skin file include custom pilot too. In the model viewer it doesn't work so... Additional, loading the pilot in the viewer, I het a body with no head About DXT, thanks for the link...I was asking because using DXT1 I lost transparency...

    How to paint pilot

I'm trying to repaint the P51 pilot...but I got in trouble with face and helmet. The following line in the description.lua file seems not working...what am I doing wrong? The dds file is called pilot_P51_WWII_helmet.dds ... of course. I need to edit pilot face too. Additional...which is the better dds format for DCS? DX5?
  5. Interesting stuff....thanks for info Boquinauer ... where can we found the PRMG channel for each AFB?

    P51D Skins

Robo, I have a request if you can...hope you don't mind. Your template file is the best I have found so far...since it includes several layers for weathering, rivets, lines and so on... Do you have the complete template for the P-51? I got just the Dif Fuz Front file. Thanks a lot for any feedback

  9. Trying to write a mission based on WWII era (P-51 vs Dora) I realized that Mission Editor automatically add lots of objects (car, tank and so on) not realted to my desired scenario. Is there any way to get a completely empty terrain?
  10. Don't know if this is a related multiplayer issue...but it occured during an online session. While hosting a mission, very basic....I've seen the teammate Aircraft with the pilot outside the plane.... He disappeared just at the Landing...
  11. Thanks a lot Art-J.. I got it.
  12. I'm wondering if there is a log somewhere about online missions, I mean... I hosted an online mission and I'd like to see some stats about online players/actions. Thanks
  13. I'm trying to connect with ATC at Sukhumi airfield...in the Mission Editor I have the radio channel set up as the follow image...but no way to start radio communication with the Sukhumi tower. In the airfield map I see that 127 Mhz is the frequency of the tower...I'm confused  Most weird...I don't see Sukhumi channel in the radio menu And...just to make it clear...this one should be the radio panel:
  14. Sorry for the silly question...but I'm getting crazy trying to use the Dora radio. No way to get in touch with ATC or friend Aircraft. Any help to solve this? Thanks a lot for any help
  15. I have downloaded two MOD into a friend laptop...but got in trouble with the online activation. Both P-51D and FW190 return the same error. The window says "Automatic activation failed"...it's imposible to be a missing connection...I have downloaded DCS World and the MOD...connected and played online using the TF-51 I'm stuck on that point since the window shows the message: Click OK to activate the product manually...but there is no OK key in that window. Any help? Thanks

  21. Sorry if this isn't the correct section to post this. In the training SU-27 mission ( basic navigation training) the info says to use LeftCTRL + R to toggle HDD mode...this doesn't work on my DCS...so I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or missed anything...thanks for any help
