X-55 Rhino Hotas Issues and Problems
Alkaline replied to Raven434th's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Before you think you have to return your fresh X-55 Rhino, try to COMPLETELY uninstall EVERYTHING regarding the X-55 Rhino! I had some issues myself, but I managed, and now it works perfectly fine and im very satisfied with the HOTAS. Do this as your last attempt, when everything else didnt solve anything. I recommend having a external USB Hub to the HOTAS. That fixed my HOTAS when it was randomly pressing the buttons on the throttle like every 10th second.. Lets start Uninstall the Mad Catz SST Software (The programming software) Go to "Device Manager" and locate your HOTAS. It should be under "Human Interface Devices" Uninstall all X-55 devices. Should be like 6 of them. -> Unplug your X-55 HOTAS Go to C:\Windows\Temp and delete the folder "Mad Catz" ->Open Device Manager->View->Show Hidden Devices Delete every X-55 devices under "Human Interface Devices" again. -> Restart Computer, and connect your HOTAS by starting with the Stick followed by the Throttle. Install the Mad Catz SST followed by drivers. -
Gah.. I canceled the auto-update. Now when I want to update it, it just wont do it.. Tryed to run DCS Updater application but it wont update.. Im stuck at 1.2.10 :(... Advices?

Haha no problem mate! :) I didnt believe it either until I actually bought a external USB hub. -
Hello, I'm looking for any squadron to play with, and join the team. I play basically every day, both the A-10C, F-15C and Su-27. I have a HOTAS and mic. From Europe only please, so our timezones dont differ too much.. :/ I live in Sweden, and have played DCS for approx a month now. Reply here or send me a PM :)

Hi, Anyone got the same issue as me? Its litteraly EATING RAM and VRAM, and eventually, my game crash and I get a MSG about my memory is out and system is exhausted, lol... And it wants around 1.8GB VRAM aswell.. -.-
-
Dude... Are you for real?? Obviously, im not talking about the feeling you have ingame, im talking about performance and graphics  As BF4 has much better graphics than DCS, it would most often require a better GPU and CPU. My point were that im able to run BF4 at ultra settings fine, but DCS im limited to low/medium.. And no, its not about my CPU. DCS actually loads 99% of my GPU, and it want around 1.800 - 2.000MB of my VRAM... I also experiencing some memory leaks aswell after this latest patch. Sometimes the game even crashes because of the memory leak, and says that my system is running low on memory... And I have 8GB RAM, using ~1.5GB when surfing...

If you still have the issues that the throttle randomly flicks the switches etc, there is one simple fix. I had that issue too aswell. Just get a external USB hub, which is powered from the wall outlet. Regarding your axis problems. Did u delete the X-55 folders in C:\Windows\Temp\MadCatz? -

New X-55 Rhino - Not in System Tray
Alkaline replied to SnowTiger's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well.. First thing u should try, is to start over. And I higly recommend you to uninstall Saitek's profile software that u used with your X-52. Uninstall the X-52 in Device manager aswell under "Human Interface Devices". Then, install the latest Saitek Profile software from their website, and the drivers of course, and you should be good to go. -

Maybe im just tired, maybe im retarded, but i am so confused right now.. Are we talking about X-52 or X-55 Rhino? Why would u want to have 2 almost the same HOTAS systems? Why cant u just pick one if you have issues using 2 HOTAS systems..? -
Time for me to build my own little cockpit! Advice and help needed
Alkaline replied to Alkaline's topic in Home Cockpits
Hehe yea, im fully aware of that. Sometimes it can seem like im rly cocky or rude, but thats just my way to discuss u know, arguments etc.. I understand that pedals is awesome for some, but for me who hardly use any rudder inputs at all, it would be a waste of money IMO. But I dont know if I got u. Did u get TrackIR, but you thought the POV hat was more nice? And yea, I know I can have one monitor for the map only in BF4. But I have almost stopped playing BF4 completely.. DCS has replaced BF4, haha :D Yes, my favorite playstyle is either helicopter pilot or gunner, both transport and attack. Haha jeez, I was the KING with the TV Guided missiles, hahah :D Tho, the feeling when u fly the heli in BF4 is sooooooo baaad.. It feels like the helicopter goes on a railroad, like a train, lol. -
Are you kidding? I dont know what kind of lines you draw, but a system with 8 core AMD FX-8320 at 4.6GHz, 8GB 1600MHz RAM, ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 and a R9 270x 2GB at 1100MHz core is a high-end machine. Okay, maybe it's on the edge.. mid-end machine, but if I replace my 270x with 280x 3GB, its defo a high-end machine. I guess that you are one of those who only thinks that Intel qualifyes to be called "High-end", then I wont waste my time on you. Srsly, Mid-low?... Lol, I got no words to say... To the post above! ^ Do you think it's better than 14.9 in DCS?
-
Had AMD 14.9 for a few days now, and frankly, I havent noticed any effect on the performance ingame at all.. Though, AMD 13.12 has been the best driver for DCS so far IMO. Other than that, maybe a loss of 10frames has occured to me. But as I play other games aswell, I manage.. Wished DCS performed better on AMD systems tho... My rig is pretty much a high-end system, yet im limited to Low-high settings in DCS with around 30-40FPS.. Sinks to 10FPS when T/O and landing... It sucks.. :( Is it because DCS doesnt run on DX11? Cuz according to GPU-Z, DCS draws 99% GPU Load and uses up to 2.000MB VRAM sometimes.. (I have 2048MB VRAM) Even BF4 on ultra with 4x MSAA in 1920x1080 needs that much GPU load and VRAM..

A few questions about AWACS and heading
Alkaline replied to Alkaline's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Hmm, alright.. I think im making this more complicated than it actually is, hehe.. Let's say someone says "Hostile radar contact at bearing 80, at 5.000" He is located exactly on Bullseye, but he's direction is west, and I am on my way to bullseye, and I got bullseye on my north. Then I guess the 080 heading for him, isnt the same as my 080 heading, right? I mean, gah... Am I making things more complicated :p ? If we are flying in formation, then its really easy, cuz then our heading is the same u know.. But yea, what if he is att bullseye, and I have recently taken off... With "He's" I refers to my friend who has detected hostile radar contact. -

Oh, you have two HOTAS systems of the same brand? Sorry, I cannot help you anymore im afraid.. I keep my X-55 HOTAS plugged in all the time, and the SST Software (Profiler) starts on startup as normal. It doesnt load a specific profile though, but the actual software is starting. Can't u have the same software for both X-55 and X-52? Like SteelSeries for example. They have the same software (SteelSeries Engine 3) for many mouses etc.. By software for Saitek, aka SST Software, Im meaning the software there u can configure ur hotas and load profiles etc.. With collective, do u mean like center of the throttle would be in the middle? Or do u mean that u dont have two different axis'es on the two throttle sliders? My left throttle slider is Joy_Y, and right slider is Joy_X, or maybe it was opposite, but u get what I mean. -

Im not a regular person. I'm "Institutionalized", lol. I have been on different institutions for a too long period of time in a row in my youth, I dno what I should call it.. Prison/Institution for youths that has problem with criminality. That made me more isolated. And 2nd of all, I am a little bit of a lonewolf. I dont enyoy to hang out just to hang out or be social. I say something if it's relevant or important. chit chat isnt for me. 10 hours/day could have been a little exaggerated. It isnt 10hours of actual gameplay, but my ass is infront of my pc all the time if I dont have something special to do. But srsly, who gives a shit about that, everyone who says "No-lifer" etc probably has some complex about himself and need to push down others to feel better himself.... Tho, I recently got into medschool, so no time to play so much anymore.. :( OnT: I got the X-55 Rhino now. Im really satisfied with it, its so so awesome, and my profile for the A-10c is PERFECT. Pretty much the same as the real TS Warthog HOTAS (The configurement and bindings) I also got a pair of 7.1 surround headset, Logitech G35. Feels like the surround sound in DCS isnt so good though compared to other games.. 25th November is the time for my next continunation on my "cockpit". Im thinking of getting 2 more monitors and setup AMD EyeFinity. But everyone keeps saying that TrackIR is the thing to go, like the 1st prio.. Im having a hard time to really feel or understand the "joy" with TrackIR. I mean, the POV hat works for me, and it aint so often I actually use it.. But then again, that might be because I dont have TrackIR, lol.. But yeah.. To be honest, I think I will purchase TrackIR 5 the 25th November, and I really really hope it's worth it.. I mean, ~200 bucks, when I have a POV hat already.. :p And I dont sit in just one position when I play. I move pretty much, taking up my legs on the chair, different positions for my back etc.. How would the TrackIR handle that..? I also want some kind of a MFD, like the "Cougar MFD". Tho, realized its more of a eyecandy thing. But after all, I love eyecandy, lol.. Rudder pedals is something I'll never even think of buying, lol.. I actually find that 100% unnessecary, as I only use rudder inputs during taxi / takeoff, and for that purpose, the joystick twist works perfectly fine. Excuse me, but just because I have different opinions than you or maybe even most of the DCS players, DCS isnt a game for me?... If I find a game fun to play and I like it, then the game obviously fit for me. You dont need to take DCS to a level of 100% seriousity and pretend that you're actually a pilot and call yourself a "Virtual pilot".. I like games that has realism in it, or atleast what I THINK is realistic. Sorry if rude or something. I just dont get it why people over the internet cares so much about others, and appearantly, know all their life, lol... I dno, maybe DCS is full of kids, or im just mature for my age.. (20) I mean, I had this "behaviour" when I was like 15yrs old...
