  1. Thanks for the update. There's more where that came from  Is this the proper sub forum for submitting or tracking bug reports related to the F-15 FM?
  2. I was flying on the North American VA server last night which had wind enabled. It appears YAW CAS still doesn't limit uncommanded side slip due to wind. Attempts at countering the slip were ineffective and required almost full opposite rudder. That would mean I am applying over 100lbs of force to the rudder pedal! Resetting the CAS channels also had no effect. Can anyone else confirm the F-15's behavior with wind present?
  3. THIS. Users keep saying how great the update is graphically and I can't honestly say that. Speaking honestly, it actually looks worse than 1.2 did. I'm playing on a 34" 21:9 curved ultrawide monitor at a native resolution of 3440x1440 with frame rates over 100fps. The haze/fog pervades the whole map. The terrain detail at medium altitude appears very poor on any setting. At high altitude the terrain is almost completely obscured by haze. The effect this haze has on depth perception is awful. Just like driving through fog IRL, it's very difficult to maintain spatial orientation and relative motion. I find myself descending, ascending, or banking without instruments because no indelible horizon exists. I've tried every combination of settings without resolve. 2 reports on the haze have been closed as they were deemed not a bug. Am I missing something? Why doesn't 1.5 look glorious for me as it does for everyone else?
  4. Sorry for the delay. Here is the .trk: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4xtep8xfcjkac6j/client-20151004-223202.trk?dl=0 Here is the acmi. (I use the Tacview beta which may not work with the current RC) Skip to 14:00 minute mark and the ATT hold malfunction occurs at 14:25. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2qb1kz3291sgt8p/Tacview-20151005-002829-DCS.acmi?dl=0 Below are telemetry plots to provide more detail on the issue
  5. If you could provide a bit more detail, such as where you are seeing this, more people may be able to help.
  6. Sure thing! I'll post it this evening when I get off work.
  7. The E has significantly more thrust with the 229's than the the C has with the -220's. At Military power, standard day, 4xAim-7's and no CFT's the F-15E can sustain just over Mach 1.00 within a very small altitude range.
  8. It still happens for me. Try recreating these conditions: -Trim the aircraft to 1.0G in level flight at 37kft -Engage ATT hold at a speed > Mach 0.95 -Apply forward stick to 0.5G. Be very careful not to go decrease acceleration below 0.0G. -Gradually return the stick to neutral -Now gently apply aft stick until 2.0G. This is when the problem occurs for me. Pitch response is very sluggish, and suddenly the AOA will slice negative as ATT hold disengages and pitch trim goes to the forward limit. Edit: Tested again last night. The problem is exacerbated with rudder input and ATT hold on. I will upload a track and FDRR plot once I'm off work.
  9. haha there's a whole lot more :p The FM updates are a HUGE improvement. The notorious roll off at high altitudes seems to be fixed. Turns are coordinated at high altitudes now and you can really muscle the aircraft around without departing into a death spiral or instantaneously bleeding all your airspeed off. The aircraft is now stable beyond 30 CPU AOA. Without being specific, I have a few minor concern areas but I don't want to start a witch hunt without proof. In summary, I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with the FM update. It's a whole new jet.
  10. I had the same exact problem, it is absolutely SweetFX. When I attempted to delete sweetfx DCS wouldn't load at all. I was able to fix it by searching my install directory and deleting the following files: d3d9.dll d3d9.fx dxgi.dll dxgi.fx injector.ini SweetFX readme.txt SweetFX_preset.txt SweetFX_settings.txt Hope that helps!
  11. Same here. I5 3570K 16GB DDR3 GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0 (4GB)
  12. The F-15C is an absolute joy to fly now. I was grinning ear to ear for hours straight. Incredible work. Regarding graphics, the haze is excessive just as it was in pre 1.5 builds for me. It doesn't seem like this affects everyone though. In 1.2.6 it could be fixed by increasing the far clip value but this seems to have no effect on 1.5.
  13. Post a track when able. It seems to occur with less than 1G when ATT hold is engaged.
  14. I'd be happy to give you my executive summary once I get a few hours of flight testing in this weekend!
  15. Wow this topic has really gone off the rails. I think it is confirmed hitting the brakes defeats the the stall inhibitor, increases instantaneous turn rate, makes no logical sense, is not documented, and puts flanker pilots unaware of this secret at a disadvantage.
  16. I prefer the view from here
  17. Have you forgotten entirely about the Gulf War?
  18. Great explanation ShuRugal! It may be worth mentioning accumulators are actually pressurized hydraulic reservoirs, basically energy storage. An example being the JFS on the F-15, no batteries needed! I think this is all beside the point though. This isn't a study level sim but the systems or functions modeled must exist in real life. This is the reason trim reset was removed from the F-15, it doesn't exist IRL. Intentional or not, it's my opinion this needs to be addressed. Pressing W in a flanker actually alters the flight envelope and no one knows why.
  19. I don't really follow your logic regarding the hydraulic system. I find it hard to believe a modeling error would result in a usable, helpful feature like this. It'd be really nice to hear from the developers if this function is intended and if so, what part of the FBW system it is simulating?
  20. My understanding is rudder behavior is bugged for the current FM. The 1.5 change list mentions improved rudder authority, so it should be improved in the next release.
  21. I think we are making a mistake comparing most RL conflicts to the bum-rush for bullseye we see in multiplayer in DCS World. A large amount of the advice posted here contradicts the fundamentals of fighter combat maneuvering, such as plummeting to the deck once the fight starts. I don't think these conceptions arose from how our aircraft and missile systems are modeled as much as how our MP conflicts are staged. What parameters you choose to put your aircraft in is not black and white such as flying high or low.
  22. The updates to the F-15 FM are such a pleasant surprise! I can't wait to try it out!
  23. Well that's interesting...I'm assuming it's not documented anywhere. How much does it actually improve sustained turn rate?
  24. The F-15 at least was designed for look down scenarios. Depending on altitude and launch velocity, Max velocity of the missile will be higher. Rate of deceleration actually decreases as Mach number increases.
