Great idea! Probably a wish list item. I posted about Naval Ranks in the logbook for DCS 2.5. It would be a nice stat to track. Steve

No, No, No. I was told today, that they never gave a date. It's okay guys, we all will survive. If you ask ED out for coffee at noon, show up the next day at 5:00 PM and maybe they will be there. But, it's not a guarantee and certainly subject to change. Steve

Good post PitBull. I would also like to chime in with, do not start "Pre-Release" until you are nearly ready to start the early access period. 5 months of a pre-order is a little bit much, especially when you barely had the product built. This is not a Kickstarter campaign, or is it? I don't know anymore. Maybe they should start doing that? Hey, we know you guys want more deck crew functions, and we can do it. We just need to hit a certain number to make it viable financially for us. It's up to the customer? Steve

You are right. Obviously stuff like this does not happen in the real world. It's just a hobby/simulation for god sakes! Professionals have deadlines and expectations from their customers/bosses. I know that I do at least. It's just not like that in the make-believe world of games. I hope everyone is staying safe, working from home is tough. Steve

Agree to disagree. Steve

I'm sure your opinion is much appreciated. Just like the pages of this thread where people give theirs. "Or else?" LOL, it's a computer simulation. Life will go on, I'm sure of it. Communication is something that was lacking and something that most of the comments of these 196 pages talk about. Including, ED.

Nailed what? Who the hell is asking for that? How about a sentence. Nobody needs a page and half full of updates. The community also does not need huge development updates, full of information that is irrelevant. God bless you if you believe that all of that "news" on 4/15 was planned for the day of the Super Carrier release. That's what the mini-updates are for. Look at the date of the last one. So yes, communication has to be better, and they already have admitted that they messed up and will improve. Steve

+1. Communication HAS to be better. They said that they will learn from what happened on 4/15 and it is now 4/27 with still, no "official" update. What is strange about this situation is not a lot of reasonable people are asking for a rushed release of a buggy product. They are asking to be in the loop as customers. I too will continue to buy everything ED puts out. I also bought the Viggen to support HeatBlur and have never even opened the module. Most everyone here wants to support team ED.

No doubt the art team is world-class.

Do not forget the F-14. There is a mod that some did for these, but it breaks with every DCS update. It also does not pass IC.
-
Just an idea - Maybe have the ability to pick the branch of service you want your pilot to align with in the logbook? Naval Ranks etc. Thanks, Steve

Great no-bull$hit response. I wish they could have posted that as a Super Carrier mini-update when they learned it was going to take some time, but it's a start. Looking forward to more information as they dig through the problems and see the light at the end of the tunnel. For now, not a single complaint. Good work. Steve

I posted a response in the Carrier Discussion thread that NineLine gave yesterday on Hoggit. Hey Steve, thanks, you guys know what is wrong with the Supercarrier, it is what is wrong with all carriers in DCS, multiplayer is way too rough right now (understatement?). This was the major reason that the SC came full stop right before release. What needed to be done was an extensive re-write of the physics of the carriers, this is why you are seeing issues with the free ones, as it is a core issue, and affects all carriers in the game. I can also say that this is going very well, and we are seeing great results internally, so I hope this will all be a distant memory very soon. Thanks!

For the guys that do not follow Hoggit, NineLine gave a solid answer yesterday about what is going on. I figured I would share it here. _____________________________________ Hey Steve, thanks, you guys know what is wrong with the Supercarrier, it is what is wrong with all carriers in DCS, multiplayer is way too rough right now (understatement?). Mr. Biggs, Great thought, and I believe you could be right. I wish they would tell us that. Sick of reading between the lines. Steve
-
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I thought it was implied because we are talking about the "new" module and features. S-3's and E-2's being guided to the CATS by the animated deck crew. Sorry, Steve
-
Yep. Disappointed. Oh, well. Life goes on. Lesson learned about "pre-release" and "early-access" though. Steve
-
What about some information on the Early Access Super Carrier? It was considered broken, not released then no information. Someone has said it before, this early access stuff seems like a "Ponzi Scheme" (Someone, 2020). Almost 6 months since ED started taking our money (great trailer btw) and limited information. Is this what Pre-Release means? Should I pre-order Madden 2027 this week? Steve
-
Curious, does anyone still believe it was just multiplayer broken? Steve
-
I only speculating because in the pre-release video (5 months ago) you could see a E-2 taxiing to the CAT.
-
Maybe some information in the newsletter this week? Hopefully, it isn't just about another sale.
-
Looking at your PC specs in your signature, if it kills YOUR frames, we all are screwed.
-
Its going to be cool to have a living environment. Tomcats and Hornets. S-3's and E-2's launching and recovering.
-
Ok guys, We said what we had to say and ED knows where the community stands with the Super Carrier delay.....lets put that behind us and look forward to the module. What is everyone looking forward to the most? Steve

Hey Guys, I remember when the Hornet first came out we were getting all kinds of updates. Things were moving at a ferocious pace. Then, we were told that things were going to slow down because they were working on more complex systems. Hornet production slowed way down. Videos and mini-updates also slowed down. Then......BAM! The Viper was announced. People were angry because they believed that the Hornet Team was moved to work on the Viper. We were told that it was not true and that they were two teams. (I was also angry and received a 20% warning in this forum). At some point, ED admitted that it was one team working on both airframes. I am happy that ED has decided to refocus on the Hornet and to make it what everyone hopes and wishes it will become. ED please continue with the honest communication, this is a smart community, we can see when something is amiss. Steve
