That's a brilliant and elegant thought, Master Zelgadis. However, can the AI even "see" friendly units? It may not have been programmed into the code to begin with... I know it can see the player, but I have no evidence it can see friendlies.

I am building a campaign for the MiG 21, and one of the mission requires you to rendezvous with a transport and escort him to base. However, there seems no way to guide to the transport except to use F10, which I see as a "cheat." Is there a way to program AWACS or Ground Control to guide you to a friendly group? Thanks!

Advanced Waypoint Options I set RTB on out of ammo, Is User Flag 2 User Flag 2 = Pilot 1 enters moving zone around Pilot 2. It didn't work. But I need to play with it, I could be missing something. Any help is still appreciated! Wrecking Crew, I will try your idea.

It happens the plane I want to bug out is unarmed. I even took the bullets out of the gun. What happens if... Advanced Waypoint Options I set RTB on out of ammo, Is User Flag 2 User Flag 2 = Pilot 1 enters moving zone around Pilot 2. I will test this, because if it works, I can manipulate it to get Pilot 2 to go home when I want. Another possibility is to set a waypoint to check for winchester and RTB which is after a reasonable period has elapsed for the player to perform the intercept. It would have the effect of tailing the plane for awhile, then he bugs out, the only problem it would be at the same waypoint, and not when you approach. Thoughts?

Okay, I managed to set a flag for the unit, which starts a timer, after which he will bug out. BUT, how do I make him bug out and fly home?

Hello, I can work with triggers and flags, but my experience is still limited. First item: I am looking to set a trigger for the following scenario; Plane A intercepts Plane B by entering the B moving trigger zone (flying close). Plane B does immediate RTB. I'm not sure what triggers to use to make this happen, if any. Bonus points if I can set a flag to delay the RTB maneuver for a minute or so. Second item: Plane C fires a weapon and it triggers a message. I know how to set the message to play. But is there a way to make a message trigger when a weapon is fired? Thanks!

I am putting together an idea for a campaign that will be set in Nevada. I am interested in what actual weapon systems are on the ground for defense of these facilities. Naturally, I don't need precise information, but rather, what should I put down, and how much, as a scenario designer. For example, 1 patriot battery? 2? How about AAA? I would imagine the actual numbers in the field would be low since we aren't planning on any invasions anytime soon. Any insight or resources I can look into? Thanks!

Here is the overview for the first mission I attempted to build. It will give you an idea of the backstory for the campaign. South Ossetia bills itself as the "Best Third World Country in the World." Admittedly, your government is weak when it comes to promoting its tourism. The people of South Ossetia, all 200,000 of them, are very proud and very independent. Their customs are unique and they're given to hyperbole. That's terribly evident when it comes to you. You are South Ossetia's "No. 1 Best Pilot!" You are also the country's only fighter pilot, flying the only fighter plane in the arsenal, an antiquated MiG 15bis. This does make you the nation's Top Gun, but you also happen to be the official janitor for your barracks, so there's that to keep it in perspective... Your country has been neglected since the end of the Cold War. Old Soviet airbases dot the countryside next to small towns, and that's literally it. The country makes money from a little agriculture, a smattering of tourists, and your one tech firm does produce the world's best spam emails. And we mean the best, they get an over 1% open rate. Otherwise, it's one of the world's poorest states. But your people are proud and they take care of what little they have. Of course, all this is about to change. A few years ago, a geological survey revealed your country was blessed with oil. A lot of oil. In fact, the entire country sits atop one of the largest oil reserves in the world. Wisely, your leaders kept this discovery quiet and your government has erected a small oil patch to drill and refine some fuel for domestic use with a tiny bit left over for export. It's not much, but it's helping your people. Moreover, it is less than a percent of what could be, if your country allowed outsiders in to take over... Enter, the USA. Your people have a custom. Before asking for something big or important, it is customary to offer a token gift. To fail to do so is considered a grave offense. Naturally, the Americans visited and immediately asked to pump your oil on questionable terms that left your people only a small share of the revenue and the Americans a couple military bases. And they forgot the gift, of course. This one-sided offer was flatly refused and the American delegation expelled. Since diplomacy and bribery have failed, it is time for the Americans to get that oil by other means. Naturally, your leaders have courageously vowed to resist and pleded that you would fight to the bitter end to prevent them from despoiling South Ossetian soil. You should be proud that your country has such faith in your ability. Good luck. -
Looking to team up to build a campaign

Hello, I am looking to team up with one or two people to build a campaign. I am passable with the mission editor and have built a few missions you can download and play, but my skills have a limit. Someone with advanced skills would be appreciated to help my vision become reality. The idea is to build a campaign set in the Caucuses that deals with a small independent state facing invasion from the U.S. and neighbors. The original idea is fairly humorous (tongue-in-cheek), the small state has just one aircraft, and one qualified pilot, so it's quite an underdog story. Of course, this changes as the missions progress. The pilot will also progress though a few different aircraft; MiG 15, MiG 21, MiG 29, Su 27. The campaign will consist of 10 missions or so. I'm very good with ideas and I can help build. I am also a decent writer, so I can write everything needed for the mission from the story, to the briefings, to the scripts and more. I would need help with the actual build of the scenarios and voice acting. Is there anyone out there who wants their name on a campaign? Here's your chance. Message me and let me know what you're willing to do. Please be a follow-though-in-a-timely fashion kinda person, please. Be prepared to see the campaign through to the end. That's very important. Thank you. At least I now know I am neither crazy nor incompetent, and I assure you I do have a valid serial key and proof of purchase! I suppose there is no way to edit and save by hand, then fly the mission? I'll quit bugging about this now that it seems the mystery is solved. SOLVED! Sort of? I think I have discovered the problem. The waypoints for both Dodge 1 and 2 specify the SAME target, so both drop on one target, but fail to bomb the other. No wonder I can't pass the mission, no matter how hard I try. The question is, how did this become broken? And, how can I fix it? (Images)Mission 3 possible bug found? Eagles do not bomb correct target? I'm getting pretty frustrated with mission 3. I follow the objectives, stay out of the red zones, shoot down every MiG in Nevada. Still, no mission success. Have to repeat again, and again... Could this be the reason why? Notice, Dodge 2 bombed the USA? Is this a bug? Dodge 2 drops GBUs, but they drop them into the sand, missing the EWR target. Dodge 1 drops a second later with Mk82s, and hits. I suspect I'm not completing the mission because the AI is up to something that's a little off. Any help? Direct link to images here: http://imgur.com/a/YxBI4 -

Gosh, I'm not sure what to say. I flew again and once more, no message of mission success. I constantly checked my position, and carefully stayed away from restricted zones. Dodge hit their targets and got away alive. They even told me when they were at IP and running in. One my my wingmen did violate restricted space, chasing after a stray MiG. Not sure if that would count against me. I also have this on TacView. I tried editing my logbook to advance the mission manually, but that doesn't seem to work. -

Both Dodge flights dropped payloads during my mission last night, but still no mission success. It seems something very specific, beyond player control, has to happen? What can I do, other than follow the flight plan and shoot down MiGs to facilitate this? I've shot down 4 MiGs in one mission and still not passed. I guess I'm worried that my advancement depends largely on an AI script that seems to fail a lot? Thanks for any insight/feedback! It's a CREDIT to the designers that I've flown this mission at least ten times now, and still come home to fly it again and again! -

I'm having the same problem as above. I am completing the mission, avoiding restricted airspace, and even wait for Dodge Flights 1 & 2 to land and park at Nellis. I have a massive trackview of the whole mission as well. No success message and I am looped back to Mission 03. There has to be some variable we are missing. Is it possible I can dropbox a tacview to someone to review? Is there a way to fly mission 4 separately?
