  1. Nice :) Pretty cool you got it to work :)
  2. Nice Video DM, it looks like our Warthog Joysticks from Thrustmaster has way to much movement compared to whats needed. Specially when you use Extensions.
  3. A couple of new pics showing the parts seperated.
  4. Looking very good :) Looks like most of your research work is done, and it just need to be cut, and put together :)
  5. Here is a little update on the Progres of my MIP. The Center part is raised up from the rest of the Panel. Here i have made a prototype of the center, which sizes are made to fit real Instruments and of course my Bezels. Its 3D printed in 4 parts for easy postage, and then screwed together. Its also made for being screwed on top of the MIP Plate from behind. Here is a picture of the right side with a couple of bezels mounted, as well as the Indicator Lights I will post more pictures of this soon. And for those who are interested, but arent too happy about the 3D printed Surface, i will make a HOWTO, on how you can easily, with very low cost, and not alot of work make the surface Nice and smooth, so that it can be painted to match the rest of the MIP. That will work on all my 3D printed Products, and it dosnt require alot of effort to do.
  6. Your Panels are looking Bloody Good Lars, i havent yet begun to design mine, but yours are really quality Work :)
  7. Thank you Lars and Excalibur :) Brixmis, yes you can use Leo Bodnar card in stead, you can just chose to buy the front with buttons and PCB, and then do your own solding and connection to the Bodnar Card. Only thing i cant promise, is how you get the Caution blinking light to work with Leo Bodnar card. But yes, it will be available in difrent stages, so you can buy what suits you best, and so you dont use money on something you dont need. :)
  8. No problem :) The Nav Select Panel and CMSP Are also in the Works, just havent had time to Draw them yet, all that real life stuff is taking my time :P
  9. Looking Very nice :) That underlay is not a bad idea.... i dont know how soft that it, but you can get something for caravan tents, also underlay for the floor... that is pretty stiff, you can walk on it without it bending, but very easy to bend with a Little heat. I have made Roleplay armor for my nephew from those Things.
  10. A-10C Engine Cluster Panel: http://lynx.dk/blueprints/A-10C%20Engine%20Cluster%20Panel%20Outer%20Dimensions.pdf
  11. And here is the AHCP and the Multi Instrument Panel A-10C AHCP: http://lynx.dk/blueprints/A-10C%20AHCP%20Outer%20Dimensions.pdf A-10C Multi Guage Panel: http://lynx.dk/blueprints/A-10C%20Multi%20Guage%20Panel%20Outer%20Dimensions.pdf All the drawing can be found here: http://lynx.dk/blueprints.html
  12. One of my friends, who is a F-16 pilot has just returned from Kuwait, where he where flying missions along with a squadron of A-10C's He asked the American Ground crew if he could measure some of those panels and instruments that I was missing, and I haven't been able to find elsewhere. And they where kind enough to help us out, which means that I know have the last dimensions i needed to finish the MIP. As i have stated before I'm going to release the drawings for the MIP, so you guys can make you own to match my panels, or to build them yourself. So now I will share the outer Dimensions and the Screw Hole positions with you all. I here have the first 2 drawings, the Landing Gear Panel and the Fuel Quantity Panel. For me the big question has been, is the Fuel Quantity Panel the same as the Landing Gear Panel, and the answer is yes, it's simply mirrored. As I get the other panels drawed, I will post them, so I will try to do it as fast as I can. This will of course all end up to my free release of the complete MIP drawing. Where the screw mounting holes are the same as the original panels. So you can choose to buy panels and bezels from me, but also mix it with real A-10C Panels, and they will still fit and look right. The precise dimensions of the MIP can maybe vary a little from the real one, but all the panels are measured from a A-10C that is flying missions in Iraq at this very moment. So here goes, I hope someone can use this info. A-10C Landing Gear Panel: http://lynx.dk/blueprints/A-10C%20Landing%20Gear%20Panel%20Outer%20Dimensions.pdf A-10C Fuel Quantity Panel: http://lynx.dk/blueprints/A-10C%20Fuel%20Quantity%20Panel%20Outer%20Dimensions.pdf
  13. I would also say that those prices is a bit too much, i would love to help you, but i live in Denmark, and then there is the Postage / Shipping Price. So it will no doubt be cheaper for you if someone here on the forum, that live closer to you could help you out :)
  14. Glareshield Price Update. Here is the prices for the Glareshield. Note that there is a mounting Foundation mentioned, but it is not shown. This is 2 pieces that you put in front, and behind the MIP plate, so that the Glareshield get the right angle. They are not shown because i have to Work them out to match the MIP, so its in the Works. The Pictures dosnt show the firehandles together with the glareshield options either, and the same with the mounting screws. It will all be shown later on. This is just for you Guys who was wondering what the prices would be. And Again. Its 3D Printed in PLA. Its not something you break easily. The horisontal single wall on the glareshield panel houses are 3mm Thick. A set of the right and Left Glareshield Panel Houses, Without Panels. Including Mounting Screws and a plate for mounting switches and backlight on. For mounting onto existing MIP: 250 DKK Single Firehandle. They can be used alone, screwed into an existing cockpit, but are also fitting inside the glareshield: 352 DKK A set of all 3 Firehandles: 1056 DKK Glareshield Base Without Panel Houses, panels and Firehandles. Including Mounting Screws and Foundation. For those who bought The houses and the firehandles, and want a complete Glareshield: 1372 DKK Glareshield with Panel Houses, without Panels and Firehandles. Including Mounting Screws and Foundation. For those who allready have the firehandles and the panel houses, and want the rest of the glareshield: 1622 DKK Glareshield with Base, Panel Houses and Firehandles. Including Mounting Screws and Foundation, but without Panels: 2478 DKK Glareshield Panels will be sold seperately at a later state. There will eventually also be a "upgrade" Mounting solution. Which will incluse 8mm Threaded rods for further stifness of the Glareshield. It needs to be included in the Cockpit MIP Construction, behind the screen. All the Bases are allready made ready for those threaded rods, and you can just mount those rods to an existing frame behind the screen yourself.
  15. And you have a Plate under the piece your cutting that you have leveled of so its flat according to the machine?
  16. I can help you if you need something 3D Printed. :) Im not charging as much as your linked site does. Of course Price depends if you have the 3D file, or i have to design it. But anyway, just letting you know :) And may i say, its a very fine cockpit you are making yourself... love the curves :)
  17. Yea thats right, since the 4030 cnc has a slow spindle motor, it need to run at max All the time, allmost no matter what you do. 11000 RPM :) Tour right Metal... They are flat in the pic, but just checked, mine are also flat...
  18. hmm im accually not sure, but yes, i guess its mm/ minute, alltho it looks like it runs fater than that. Those 60 Degrees, i tryed them, and i could never get a fine result... but everything you see engraved in my thread, is done with 15 degree 0.2mm at those speeds... its like the 60 degree takes too much material, and then isnt cutting nice.. i dont know.. but the 15 degree is definately good. The machine ive done this on, is the same as yours, a 4030 CNC. I still have it for small engraving jobs etc. I had a bigger cnc that stopped working, so im waiting for my new High-Z CNC to arrive hopefully late next week, so i can get going Again, but that thing will also be bigger, big enough to cut the MIP in one go :)
  19. ClayM. i dont know how Deep you are engraving, but when i engrave, im not cutting to the desired depth in one go, i let it run through 2-3 times, that way it has time to remove the cutted material, and are not "destroying" the painted edges. Also if you have compressed air blowing onto the object while cutting, helps alot. Engraving with too slow speeds can slo be bad i found out, then rather go a Little faster, and cut over more depths. Hope this helps :) My setting for engraving in CamBam is 250 Feedrate and 0.05mm depth at a time. you could go even less if needed, it depends on your cutter, and also the material. I also found that 15 Degree Engraving Bits, makes a way finer job towards the edges that a 30, or 45 Degree Bit. See this link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10Pcs-Multi-purpose-0-2mm-15-Degree-CNC-Router-Tool-Engraving-Bits-V-shape-/281397093094?hash=item418492e2e6
  20. The overall Width of the Glareshield is 659mm
  21. Im not on FB :) DM, If you are offering the dxf's for me to make panels for the community i wont say no of Course. But thats not my decision to make, and i would never ask you for them, since thats your work. But as everything i do, im not charging people for the time i use for designing and developing, only the accual time it takes me to make the final product. But we shouldnt talk about this in this thread, we can start a new thread or PM.
  22. Sry Deadman, Those thee dots has been with me too long, i cant just let them go like that :P As for the Light plates, i am going to make a complete set available for the A-10C, Backlit with Aluminum Backplate, to fit the rest of my cockpit. But problaly not 100% correct design, since i dont have the real panels to go from. :) Sry about topic change :), To get back to the topic, im using CamBam, and Mach3. and im only engraving like 0.05mm or less at a time when engraving, with a 0.2mm engraving bit. This gives me some very fine lines.
  23. I have to say that i accually have no problems with fonts. I can engrave all fonts, with great results... simply by pocketing. All you can see i engraved is done that way.
  24. Firehandles with Switch Box is now ready. Complete box, with switch, "click" meachanism and engraved acrylic Firehandle glass. Its 3D Printed and made so it can be mounted in my Glareshield. But its also possible to Mount it in an existing cockpit as stand alone handles. In the handle there is a light Diffuser, so all you have to do is to Mount a small LED, and its backlit. There is no wiring to the Switch or LED, thats up to the buyer to do. The "click" mechanism on the handles are shown in this Little video. The Price for this is 352 DKK per Handle. Which is 1056 DKK for a set of 3 Handles. But if you intend to buy a complete Glareshield, with these 3 handles, im willing to cut the Price for my time assemblying these. Prices for the complete glareshield, or the diffrent stages of the Glareshield that will be for sale, is on the way :)
  25. Im guessing its the Caution Light panel?
