  1. Thanks for your feedback Johnny :)
  2. I only saw speculation articles about a 1060Ti but to my knowledge it has never been released?
  3. Hello rge75, You could have posted in the "general" DCS World 1.5 & 2.0 Open Alpha forum or Input and Output forum. But me too, I would have posted in Huey or Mi-8 forum. Me too, I ask to myself the same question as you, but did not take time (or was too lazy ?;)) to post so far. To complement your question, for me "joystick with no centering spring/no FF" are: 1) Joysticks that are natively without springs like yours, specially designed for helicopter flying 2) Force feedback joysticks which have been set up with no force/friction 3) "Normal" joysticks whose springs have been removed from by user
  4. Hello David, I plan to change my graphic card too: 1060, 1070 or 1080
  5. Hello Bitmaster, Thanks for your testimonial on Gsync. Much appreciated! I am not interested in VR either at this time. After Johnny's (and now your) suggestion about Gsync, I am now considering this 27" TN 144 Hz 2560 x 1440, 16:9: DELL S2716DG Indeed I used iiyama so fat but it looks like they have a partnership with AMD, so they have only FreeSync and not Gsync. I see that you have a GTX 980 and Asus PG278Q 27" WQHD Gsync 144Hz What fps do you get in 2560 x 1440? Do you have medium/high/very high graphics settings in DCS?
  6. Many thanks Pilotasso! I was not aware so I will put on hold a bit the purchase of the graphic card. If it is true, I guess Nvidia must be aiming to release the card before Christmas.
  7. Hello, I googled but was not been able to find a 1060Ti, at least on french stores. Maybe it is out of stock.
  8. Thanks Johnny! Cool, I got it :) Right, the monitor I intend to buy (iiyama around 500 euros) is not Gsync (Nvidia). However I must confess that I currently have a Freesync (not Nvidia compatible) iiyama monitor and I don't have problem at all. No tearing or that sort of things. So I wonder if Gsync/Freesync is so important. If I had to get a Gsync, it would be 650 euros for a Dell with a classic design.
  9. Thanks guys, however it looks like my power is enough for at least 1060 and 1070. I do not want to change the power because I'm not very technical.
  10. Hi, I currently have a 27" TN 1920 x 1080 @144 Hz monitor. I am considering to get a 27" TN 2560 x 1440 @144 Hz monitor and more specifically this one So the surface will be the same (27") but the resolution will increase. What will happen? Will I see the same image with more details? (let's say a DCS module cockpit). I am mostly interested in a better readability of gauges because I fly classic choppers. Will I see a bigger image? On the iiyama website they say "more on-screen space". If so, that bigger image will have more details? Other? It's hard for me to imagine... The last time I changed a monitor, the resolution increased but the size too.
  11. @Pilotasso: thanks, I was not aware of power simulators. I checked and it is indeed useful but I also like users opinions (vs manufacturer) @cromhunt: I answered to your PM @Phantom453: thanks, DCS runs on my SSD @Stefem: thanks, I prefer Nvidia. I have to decide now on 1060 ,1070 or 1080. I feel that 1080 might be a bit too much for my processor. Thanks also for your feedback on the power.
  12. cromhunt and shonist, Thank you for your interest and help in my upgrade as we are getting close to DCS 2.5 I have now narrowed my choice: it will be a 1070 or a 1080, the 1080 price being very close to the 1070. I also plan sometimes in the future to get a TN 2560x1440 (2K) 144Hz 1ms monitor. One fellow already answered me but I'm still worrying about my Power: Antec HCG 620 Watts 80+ Bronze. Will it be enough to power the graphic card and all the rest of my PC? I would appreciate more confirmations. Thanks for the hint about the size of the card. My case is a big one, a Fractal Define R2. So I think it should do.
  13. Thanks for the clarification Dzen. Makes sense.
  14. When I said "boarding" I meant: soldiers running towards the helicopter (and vanishing 1 or 2 meters from the aircraft). I read that in DCS 2.5 a new "skeleton animation" technology will allow a better rendition for that sort of things.
  15. Very nice schematic Ramsay
  16. It's clear for me now, thanks. Also it's nice to hear we are getting close!
  17. SiThSpAwN, many thanks for sharing New Caucasus is simply fantastic :) Sorry to ask this here but it's not crystal clear in my mind yet: if I understand well, New Caucasus will be available in DCS 2.5, that is when 1.5 and 2.0 merge? Sure, that's why when Nevada came out I bought it to support the "war effort" even if I don't really use it.
  18. Hello Redglyph, Thanks for your feedback :) I played Spring Tension in 2015 and there were animated soldiers boarding the helicopter. Maybe rge75 can give an up to date observation since he played Spring Tension recently.
  19. I like classic navigation with the Mi-8 so I won't buy this addon. But happy it is available for those who were waiting for it. Right, however for the price, in Flight Simulator you can use the GPS in virtually any aircraft you want. Here, for DCS, as I understand, that GPS is only for the Mi-8.
  20. Thanks PeaceSells and Django.
  21. Good idea, PeaceSells, thanks. What kind of improvement did you observe in DCS after upgrading to 16 Gb?
  22. @demon: thanks, you did answer to my question. @intifaxl: yes, almost only for 2.5. Thanks for that smart comment. Without doubt the same hardware will be cheaper or more powerful for the same price. I will think about that.
  23. I had that issue at the sub-base after the 1.5.7 update. So I immediately reverted to 1.5.6 and I am still on 1.5.6. Guys reports that kind of problems after updating to DCS 1.5.7 I think it's not an issue related to Oilfield Campaign.
