  1. Thanks for your opinion mate. Gracias hombre! Un saludo.
  2. Hi all, I bought my rig late 2013 and just upgraded to 16 Gb RAM and got a new GTX 1080. The motherboard is a MSI Z87-G43 Gaming. The CPU is an i5 4670K (3.4 GHz). In 2014 I overclocked the CPU to 4.3 Ghz by simply using the built-in selector in the MSI BIOS software. Then I tried to play a bit with voltage but without completely mastering what I did. So by security I increased by 0.1 Volt increment. But rapidly the system became unstable so I decided to stay at 4.3 GHz. And since then, all has been fine so I think I will keep as is. By curiosity, I wonder if it would be worth trying to overclock to 4.5 Ghz? Basically and mathematically speaking, going from 4.3 to 4.5 is a 4.65% increase. That is very little. But maybe it does not work like that? By the way my cooler is a Master Hyper 212 EVO (it is not a water cooling). So it is not enough I believe to cool the additional overclocking to 4.5 GHz.
  3. The bug is not from the DLC Campaign, I believe, but from DCS. Have a good time mate :)
  4. If you have budget for a 1080 that would be perfect. 1070 or 1080 + 2K 27" monitor is a very good combo IMHO  Community managers say we are close now. I'm not knowledgeable enough to give an opinion on that precise model but I see guys having that card on this forum. That's what this great and mature forum is all about! Great to hear ;)
  5. You are most welcome. To sum up my previous posts, it would be your option 2. With the release of the 1070Ti, hopefully prices for the 1070 might drop a bit... but maybe not immediately. Regarding "noob", don't worry mate. Me too I was a noob 2 months ago when I started to study the upgrade of my rig in anticipation of DCS 2.5
  6. Yes, wish me luck guys :) If the new monitor is right then my hardware upgrade for DCS 2.5 will be over! The choice of an alternative monitor was rather easy because as far as I know :detective: there are only 2 monitors with the following specs: 27" 2K TN 144/165 Hz Gsync
  7. You should have created a separate thread as this it not a bug. As I recall the storage tanks are down of a hill and you have to land on the roof of the house higher on that same hill.
  8. I ended returning the DELL S2716DG and ordering an ASUS PG278QR. Thanks to all.
  9. The 960 will struggle to run a game at 3 840 x 2 160 (4K). For 4K you need at least a 1080 if not a 1080Ti. A 1070 for 2K (2 560 x 1 440) is OK.
  10. If there is no patent, I say YES
  11. Ciao Luca, Welcome back to DCS and flight simulators! ;) So you are going to play 720p... How many inches is your monitor?
  12. I'm been searching to death a solution on Dell support forum and on the web. No luck. For those who have the ghosting problem, it seems that there is no fix. I think I will return the S2716DG rev A04 to Dell. And regarding the S2716DG rev A01 that I bought initally from Amazon I will ask them to exchange it against an: Asus PG278QR All I hope with this model is that I will have a uniformity of colours all over the screen (as traditionally on TN), no back light bleeding, no dead pixel and no ghosting. If somebody has that monitor I would appreciate feedback.
  13. Thanks all! David OC, petsild: I tried all you suggested, no significant result. BitMaster: I will think about it.
  14. I managed to turn on ULMB. It does not work above 100 Hz, that's why I could not turn it on before (the monitor was set on 144 Hz) Unfortunately ULMB does not solve the ghosting (also known as "pixel inversion").
  15. Many thanks mates for helping me. Mr_sukebe, I've never felt necessary so far to calibrate my monitors. But in this case I will try. I've already tried this given by a guy on Amazon, many guys tried it and were happy but it did not solved the ghosting. Nvidia Control Panel>Adjust desktop color settings: Brightness-50% Contrast-50% Gamma-0.60% Digital vibrance-70% Hue-0 CLICK APPLY DELL Monitor settings: Brightness-26% Contrast-75% Color>Custom Color: R-97% G-99% B-96%Now I'm going to try a profile from TFT Regarding your hueyPro, are your refering to this? It looks like a commercial product but has been discontinued? BitMaster, - Monitor *.inf installed ? ==> I don't know how to verify that. I installed the latest drivers for the monitor from Dell's website but the drivers are from 2015 - ULMB instead of Gsync activated by any chance ? ==> I deactivated Gsync to try but cannot get ULMB activated in the monitor OSD menu, for an unknown reason. But anyway, it would not be convenient to switch back and forth ULMB/G-Sync for desktop usage/gaming. - 388.00 driver ?? that one brakes Gsync and has several more flaws, take 388.10beta if... ==> I saw indeed your report in the 388.00 thread, but no, I have not installed those drivers yet. The Black Swan, Thanks, I had a look already on that very specialized website
  16. Thanks guys. I've come to the same conclusion as this guy
  17. Please look behind your monitor: the revision number is the last 2 digits of the serial number. Mine for example is A04. Yes, my G-Sync is enabled.
  18. Hi everybody, I got my DELL S2716DG (2K, 144 Hz, 1 ms, G-SYNC, TN) last week from Amazon. It was revision A01 (2015). I'm very happy with this monitor (nice and fluid images, uniformity of colours all over the screen, no backlight bleeding...). For games it is just perfect IMHO. However the ghosting is terrible  So scrolling text on desktop apps or webpages is a nightmare  I already tried to set response time to "fast" and "normal", lower the refresh rate (120 Hz, 100 Hz...). No way to get rid of the ghosting. I then got a RMA from DELL and today I have a revision A04. Same story with the ghosting :( I initially read/thought that revision A03 was ghosting free but apparently it is not. Does anyone has the DELL S2716DG and could got rid of that *** ghosting? How? Please state your revision number. I am considering to ask Amazon to exchange the DELL monitor against an ASUS PG278QR because it looks like it is the only alternative with the sames specs (2K, 144 Hz, 1 ms, G-SYNC, TN). Even if the design is more "gamer" while I prefer the classic design of the DELL. What do you think guys?
  19. I won't! Only a figure: 3
  20. I understand. I have FRAPS but for monitoring FPS only. I've never made a game video so far but the day I do, I'll use ShadowPlay. Thanks for your feedback :)
  21. In my opinion, for 2K you need at least a 1070. For VR I am not knowledgeable but I read that it is demanding. If your budget allows for a 1070Ti, 1080 or 1080Ti, it will depend on your expectations regarding graphic quality and fps, as well as how long you want to last until you change your graphic card or buy a new PC. Of course you can take a cheaper card than your budget allow, in order to save money for a new card upgrade in 1 or 2 years. But at that time in the future, there will be new low-medium-high-very high end cards and the same question will arise again. Do I take a medium-high or a very high card? It is endless...
  22. Me too I only became aware of the mining madness last month when I started to study the upgrade of my PC. Good for miners and card manufacturers but bad for us gamers/simmers  Only speaking of Bitcoins, their issuing will end in a few years... but maybe other crypto-currencies will emerge?
  23. Hello mate, Can I ask you why you use Nvidia ShadowPlay for recording (versus other recorders)?
