Capt Zeen MI-8MTV2 Helios Profile ! ! !
Simicro replied to Capt Zeen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Many thanks for your hard work mate! -
If I recall correctly, there is no message after destroying the jeep. Try to look carefully for troops in the village.
-
Great! Congratulations mate! If you found the jeep moving that means that you already hit the right buildings. If you destroyed the jeep, then the next step as per the instructions is to pick up a soldier / some troops. I don't remember if the pick-up zone is marked by smoke. But it's in the village, so try to fly low and slow to spot the soldier / trrops.

I have DCS 1.2.16 and the trigger worked for me. I did not pay too much attention to the village being called suddenly a town but I agree that it might create confusion. On the other hand the briefing map shows the village as the destination. There is not another waypoint with a town.
-
The enemy vehicle (jeep) only moves after you achieve step 1 of my description above. The town is the destination of the mission (refer to briefing map).

Thanks for all your explanation AlphaOneSix. I can live with this. When 1.5 is officially released I will try again and let you know if the problem is solved.
-
I turned off both generators and the pitch indicator is not responding anymore to collective movements. And the "INVERTER ON" light illuminated indeed.
-
Thank you all for your help. AlphaOneSix, So I understant that it is useless to try to get more than 95% rotor RPM. As to the engine RPM, it is possible to reach 101.15% maybe for a short time. But does it help to go faster or climb faster? gospadin, No the metal handle at the left of the collective is all the way down. I will read the manual to discover what is this handle and give it a try.
-
Thank you AlphaOneSix, I will try and report back.

Hello 1.JaVA_Platypus, Thanks for jumping in and for your many valuable and tricky advices! I don't have much difficulty to follow the choppers from Java to Sphora in the first part of the mission. The difficulty begins after Sphora when they fly into the mountains. I'm glad (to speak so) I'm not the only one to experience difficulty! I have not edited any mission in the mission editor so far and I prefer not to since I'm not skilled enough yet. I hope I can finish the campaign in a regular manner. Yes I have set the pitch to 13-14 degrees. However I need to investigate more on "before the RPM's are too low and the generators cut out" to improve my knowledge on this aspect. I don't have enough room to perform a rolling start at Sphora. Anyway the real difficulty is not at Sphora take-off but in the mountains zone. I will try and report back.

Thank you both for your help. I have DCS 1.2.16 Please find below the image of the electrical panel at the beginning of mission 17 of the Mi-8 Spring Tension campaign. 115V and 36V are on AUTO. Should I turn the black rotating button? If yes, to which value please?
-
Hi all, I would be grateful if someone could offer an explanation to this: when the rotor pitch goes beyond an approximate value of 14 degrees, the needle of the gauge returns to 1 !?!?
-
Hi all, I have been flying the Mi-8 for 2 months now and have never encountered a situation that requires more power or speed otherwise than operating the collective to its maximum. Now I am stuck at mission 17 of the campaign (click here) because the helicopter is very loaded I don't have enough power/speed to follow a formation of Mi-8. So my question is: in straight flight, is it possible to increase Engine RPM or rotor RPM to 100% in order to get additional power/speeed. If it is possible, how can I do? The screenshot below shows my purpose. Even if the screenshot was taken during a hover, I could not get higher RMP during straight flight.
-
Hi, I 'm stuck at this mission and have the same difficulties as the the mates above. Any additional advice is welcome.
-
To avoid multiple installation or re-installations, I have decided to wait for an official release, so thank you guys for your feedback. Looks good!

I read select parts of the forum so thank you!

Chuck's next DCS guide - What will it be?
Simicro replied to Charly_Owl's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Thanks for asking Chuck, much appreciated. I voted for the Mirage. -
Molevitch, Thank you very much for your explanation. Very clear, I get it. I don't have a second screen. I will see if HELIOS can run on an iPad.
-
Hi all, I am rather new to DCS and I fly mainly the Mi-8. Thank you for your work Capt Zeen. If I understand well, HELIOS is an utility that allows the display of 2 cockpit views at the same time.
-
Thank you for the heads up, I was not aware of HELIOS and will now have a look.
-
To succeed I did the following: 1. The tanks come into the village and stop ==> fire at the building in the vicinity of the tanks 2. Destroy the jeep going northbound 3. Land near the village (green smoke) to onboard troops Note: when you orbit the village, don't fly too low otherwise you will be hit by the combat fire.

Check the 2014 news at this time of the year and you will have an idea of when are the next sales. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/index.php
