I and a lot of PC pilots I know would certainly like to see the Tempest V as a flyable module in DCS  We just need a developer to see the potential and give the customers and the WWII project historical context this fantastic aircraft. The 2nd TAF employed the Tempest V to excellent effect, so it would be great to see this aircraft in DCS able to perform its historical role. Happy landings, Talisman

Interesting to note that the tracer rounds appear very discreetly in this footage. Happy landings, Talisman

Version 1.5 Tracers are not very visable

DCS: Spitfire Mk LF IXc Discussion
Talisman_VR replied to Yo-Yo's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
"The Spitfire Mk IX also had no headrest, they were removed on an earlier version and shouldn't be present." That is very interesting Azref, I had not realised this. Thanks for posting. Do we know why the headrest was removed? Happy landings, Talisman -
Version 1.5 Tracers are not very visable
Talisman_VR replied to lennycutler's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi Solty, Thanks for your post. Are we sure that photographs and film, recent but also including particularly those taken during in WWII, actually give us the same effect as we get using the live naked eye, when we view them second hand through such medium? I am no expert on this sort of thing, but during the daytime on a bright sunny day I would not really expect to be able to view tracer very much against a clear sky in an air-to-air situation. Perhaps DCS have got the tracers about right with the latest version. I have not flown the P51D on DCS in fading low light situations, so can't comment on that, but I would expect them to naturally show up more as darkness nears. Happy landings, Talisman -
Version 1.5 Tracers are not very visable
Talisman_VR replied to lennycutler's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have noticed the difference too, but I prefer the latest tracer effect with V 1.5 to the previous version, as I think the tracer was overdone before. Also, if I had the choice, I would prefer not to use tracer rounds at all. Happy landings, Talisman -
DCS: Spitfire Mk LF IXc Discussion
Talisman_VR replied to Yo-Yo's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Shame, I was looking forward to getting the clipped wing :( Perhaps we will get both :) Clip wing gets my vote as it is very much in keeping with the historical time line of Spitfire development and I believe the clip wing was the more common version of wing for 44/45. After all, remember it is a Low Fighter (LF) version. Happy landings, Talisman -
Possibility of other 109 Models as an addon?

This is how many misconceptions come about, comparing apples with pears! Thanks for posting Solty. Happy landings, Talisman -
I am a WWII enthusiast, but the Harrier would have tempted me if it had been the Falklands War spec GR3 and/or Sea Harrier. This could have paved the way for a Falklands War scenario with other aircraft that took part to deliver some historically based land and sea action. As it is, not interested in Harrier later versions, so did not vote. My request to developers is to think about producing aircraft that took part in historical conflict against each other and other air forces in a meaningful way. I am not a customer for the versions of the Harrier in the poll. Happy landings, Talisman

Perhaps you have just finally got over the steep learning curve. No matter how hard to handle I have first found different aircraft, in various simulators, I always get to the point were I can manage them almost without concern because I have skilled-up on them. However, as soon as I fly with a rookie to teach them 'the ropes' I am reminded how far I have come and how much I take it for granted. Also, the small improvements that I seem to continuously make to my rig set-up and associated peripherals tend to incrementally improve my performance over time. If anything, because I had not flown the Mustang for a while whilst waiting for the 1.5 public release, I have found it harder to fly in combat against AI and human pilots. I never found much difficulty in handling the P51 on the ground or for take off and landing from day one. I suspect this was because when I first started in DCS, with the Mustang, I had learnt a lot flying the BoS Lagg 3 and FW; try to taxi and land them (on an icy runway) and you will soon find out why everything else is easy, LOL. I think perhaps AI pilot behavior has been improved, so may not be all down to aircraft changes when fighting AI. Happy landings, Talisman

Thanks Andre, I have a FF joystick, but I don't want to disconnect that. I have given up trying to get working for CloD for now, but if anyone stumbles on a solution I will have another go some time; no drama, but it would be the icing on the cake to use for both of my flight sims. Might also expand the customer base for the jetseat. Happy landings, Talisman

This is one of the reasons I have stopped playing MP, and thus DCS, and purchasing any more modules than the one warbird I have, pending public release of V2. If MP is not viable for us WWII types with the visual air-to-air capability and the historical environment then I am out of here I am sad to say; living in hope though. I want so much to be an enthusiastic customer, but, oh well... Happy landings, Talisman

If anyone is able to get the jetseat to work with CloD I would very much appreciate it if they could let me know how, because I have drawn a blank :(( Thanks. Talisman

No amount of training is going to make anyone able to see what is not displayed on the screen.

The visibility, environment and campaign building issues are key, as I believe that if DCS crack this the WWII side of the house has the potential to expand the customer base, pilot population and the on-line MP experience for the better. However, at the moment I am starting to lose a bit of hope from the WWII perspective; perhaps it's the early New Year blues :(( Happy landings, Talisman

Possibility of other 109 Models as an addon?
Talisman_VR replied to IronJockel's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Strongly agree! I am here recently attracted to DCS for WWII, not modern fast jets at all, so I thought I was going to have a great time in MP when 1.5 was released. However, it has been so disappointing with the model visibility and other problems (like no bomb delay availability for the P51 and lots of other issues too many to go on about) that I have stopped flying DCS again pending the next public release version. Moreover, I am now starting to think that even with the Normandy map I am going to have to lower my expectations, or even give up on DCS. I was so excited about the prospect of WWII with DCS that I invested in a gametrix jetseat (great bit of kit by the way), but I hardly use it since DSC WWII is in the slow lane as far as I can see :(( I can't help feeling pessimistic at the moment and, on a bad day, am wondering if I will even bother purchasing the Spitfire if I can't get a decent on-line MP experience. Happy landings, Talisman -
Andre, Will this work for Cliffs of Dover (CloD) WWII combat flight sim? Originally by Oleg Maddox, IC Games, but now Team Fusion. I fly CloD a lot because DCS is not up to speed with WWII yet, so if this works for CloD that would be great and might give you more customers. Happy landings, Talisman

Is there an enforced setting for Model Enlargement on this server and if so, what is it? Thanks, Talisman

Hi MB2_Svejk, I notice that your sound module gain levels are all set to 100%. I have left mine at the default 50%. What difference does it make with the higher 100% setting? I have been thinking about changing mine to 100% but am not sure about it. Happy New Year, Talisman

Andre, Don't know what you did for the latest update for the jetseat, but it is working better than ever now. The 2 motors to the rear of the seat cushion, directly under my backside, are now working better than ever :) These 2 motors were very weak compared to the others before your last update. Happy New Year, Talisman

[WORKING AS INTENDED] bomb delay setting
Talisman_VR replied to Talisman_VR 's topic in Bugs and Problems
Copy that. I just wish we could have more information on how DCS is going to pull things together to make WWII simulation in DCS viable for the WWII enthusiasts who would like to fly the aircraft in the way they were intended to be used and actually were used in the historical context. Happy landings, Talisman
