I discovered Dcs last month and starting to realise that that discovery will cost a fortune. It started with my girls and pedals and a few modules. Now I want most of the modules that are out as well as what is planned for future release.

I am all for flying the back seat or the front seat. Both are quite important and the aircraft is not effective unless you have skilled personnel in both positions. Would a f14 pilot know what to do in the rear?

Unfortunately I only have a gtx580. Would love to get a couple gtx 970 or 980.

Was able to get it up to 1.6 in a steep dive after 1.2 level.

OK Thanks. So it is knots not kph? Should be able to hot Mach 2.5.

Well I just cant get up past around 700kph and would love to fly mach. Why is this not possible?

Doh. The mirrors are always there so I thought they were on lol. Now I turn them on and they work. LOL. Sorry for the post.

Landed the f-15 once since I got the Hotas. My issue is either too fast or too slow. I either crash before or onto the landing strip. What is the best speed for each aircraft to land heavy or light?

Did a repair and still mirrors are not good. Only get shading but no reflection. Looks kinda liked a foggy window that you cant see through.

Tried to install a cockpit mod and then deleted it, but my mirrors are not working correctly. If I do a repair will it fix it? Will it delete all my hotas saved settings?

X55 and saitek combat pedals showed up yesterday. Set everything up and configured it today. I love this setup. I am using the blue spring and i have no issues that are floating around. Only thing i do wish is that it had a heavier base on the throttle and a lock for the twist.

Dumb question. Are these saved into the game, or do I have to load for each aircraft I am flying? Ie will I have to change the saitek software every time?

I agree. If there were hospitals then one for that also. This would make finding an airport much easier at night.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am going to run circuits from parked engines off and back. This will give me plenty of practice with the basic flight mechanics.

Mostly because of speed I guess. Going too fast when I try to set wheels down. I have been getting better tonight. I almost landed a f-15c that nose and part of one wing was shot off. I made it alive, but landing gear collapsed and started a fire, but hey I got out. I just landed my a-10c at night and landed a mig29 during the day. I just think it is funny how the first time and since I can land on a carrier but was crashing on the runway on land.

I think it would be quite helpful if the airports had the beacon lights. I get all the other lights of the airports, but no beacon.

I dont use it for the game. I only have a few days left before my x55. I am sure it has to do with my experience. I have always been huge into first person shooters and not had much time behind a stick. Part of it is having to learn to trust my instruments and not just my eyes.

I crash a lot when I try and land aircraft on land, but can do it great on an aircraft carrier. I am looking forward to my X55 arriving and hope that helps control better than the logitech 3d.

No doubt. It is something I am getting. Was talking to someone e about a 4 fro 40.00 with the pro clip and hat mount. Just waiting on him to work out payment.

Just hit the purchase buton for the x55 and saitek combat pedals. Now all I need is a trackir 4 or 5 and I will be all set. I guess modules will eventually come. I have black shark 1 and 2 and flaming cliffs as well as combined arms. Not sure why it is not showing my sig pic.

I have over 1500 jumps halo, haho, and static line combined. Not bad for 10 years of service. Have two combat jumps under my belt also.

See after I had to have someone show me where this thread went to, it pops up on the first page. Maybe I was just being slow. Well I now have the money for my x55 and might be able to buy the combat pedals and a used trackir 4. Maybe I can actually learn the sim the right way.
