Yes, they are. Can't talk about the Asian ones, but the sting of the European hornet hurts like hell (talking from personal experience), and a few (can't say how many, really) can bring a man down. If one is allergic, already one sting is life-threatening. 10-20 deaths per year related to hornet stings, in Italy.

Sure, but that is the point of view of somebody who focuses on dogfighting. I enjoy the ground pounding, and fly mostly alone: concentrating all targets in one area would kill the fun for me, and I would not join the server anymore. As it is, it leaves me some strategies to avoid being intercepted, bomb, and get the hell out of there before being shot down. I am terrible at dogfighting, and anyway p51+rockets/bombs would be a cow waiting to be slaughtered. Skliff's strategy is the one you should use, just wait for messages and direct there. I know for a fact the this works , I gave away so many A/A kills that I feel I should be given the "A/A retarded" award of the year

Perfect timing for Crosswinds to turn up.

Likewise! I had them since 2015, great addition to my set up! Enjoy -
Format your PC, it could make all the difference.

oh, I see. I wonder whether this will apply for the next iteration as well -

Just out of curiosity: what do you mean with "it's free"? -
Hi Wizav, I have been playing with a X52 for the past 8 years without any problem. Only this week it's been finally substituted (but I'll keep it as a spare emergency stick) with a loooong-awaited VKB Gunfighter. Just to be sure, you should try to plug it in, launch DCS, and check the axes responses within the axis calibration tool in DCS. You'll easily notice if the stick has any problem. Mind you, the X52 throttle, sliders and rotaries are (in)famously affected by Parkinson's syndrome. However, I was never really bothered by it (except for the fact that I could never assign the zoom to the slider). Enjoy!

2.5.0.15365 Update is really good !
gabgio replied to DaveRindner's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I was away for three weeks, and went through a rather large update yesterday, and oh boy things have improved! Am I wrong, or the feeling of speed is back? I was flying a mission on Normandy, and all seemed to happen a lot faster, particularly when flying low or diving for bombing. Funny enough, I was one of the few without any multiplayer loading issues. Now I am experiencing (not always) very long loading times when joining a server.. -
I join the request. Any news for the EU market?

Many thanks, this helps a lot! Especially the 'default profiles' workaround, I could not find a solution by myself.

Hey BT, keep it on! I am really curious to see how far the 8700k can be pushed... But first on other people's rigs

Hey Red, eekz entered just after you left, he is fixing it right away

My delidder order got messed up
gabgio replied to BitMaster's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
BM, my Seasonic PSU from the same shop (ck) has finally arrived yesterday, with a full month delay. I got lucky, 'cause they sold more than they actually have, and the back-orders list on many items is quite long.. Is it common with this retailer? -
Hey Eekz, great work with the new mission, I like it a lot! As for the mission marks, they would help greatly, although I am starting to appreciate the difficulty of localizing and spotting targets without artificial help. A quick look at mission briefing gives a rough idea on where they should be, and the rest is up to us :)
-
Saburo made the kill, mission completed ;)
-
Cancel that, I am online right now and there is only 1 remaining target, so one of the bunkers must have been blown away! I'll go straight there and check if we can bring home the mission ;)
-
Ok, then most likely it's a DCS multiplayer glitch. Pity: I am a newbie, and destroying the assigned targets is my only chance of glory, as trying to dogfight those 109's has so far only resulted in spectacular fireballs
-
Yes, eekz is indeed aware: depending on relative angle of approach, the bunkers disappear (his video showing the problem helped me localizing the damn targets in the first place , I couldn't find them before). The fact they seem to be indestructible bothers me more than the visibility glitch, though
-
Out of curiosity, has anybody flying the Mustang managed to blow up one of the bunkers in the current mission? I have been trying again and again, with bombs, rockets and guns, with no success. Hell, last thing to try is to go kamikaze on them..

Nice! My new desktop pic :)

oh well... I guess I'll have to get me the Normandy+asset pack then :joystick:

Ahh, the Sun, a beacon of light in these dark, misinformed times [all in the spirit of good jest, not entering a fight in here. Not without a hammer in my hands anyway ]
