Wartog HOTAS I think I screwed it up
Pineapple Pete replied to Pineapple Pete's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Sarge, I proceeded as advised. Same results. To amplify the condition a bit, as soon as I give the slightest nudge on the joystick I get a full deflection. I put in a 5 deadzone. No change. I am beginning to think the joystick has an internal issue. AS I said, the CH Fighterstick works fine. Thanks. -
Wartog HOTAS I think I screwed it up
Pineapple Pete replied to Pineapple Pete's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks Sarge. I will try as you suggest. I re inserted my older CH Fghterstick and controls are all working properly. I agree about TARGET. In game is great with DCS. Best sim out there I think. -
Hi All. First, a brief history: Plugged in the Warthog HOTAS Stick and Throttles. Booted up and went straight to configuring my P-51 and Sabre. I did not stop at TARGET. Both aircraft were flying beautifully. I then went to the F-15. Assigned a lot of buttons and switches. Went to Instant Action just to take look at things All of the flight controls were ineffective. Since I din't think I had to go to TARGET based on my experiences in the P-51 and the F-86 I decided to got to windows and calibrate the joystick. Now in both the P-51 and the Sabre here is what I have: Up Elevator = Aileron input roll right then roll left. Down elevator= Aileron roll left. Ailerons remain stuck. Aileron roll right = Up elevator Aileron roll Left = Down elevator I THINK THE WINDOWS JOYSTICK CALIBRATION IS THE CULPRIT. I am going to unplug the joystick, reboot, shut down, plug in the joystick and reboot. Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Man! This is frustrating. Many thanks :joystick:

Warthog Modifier Switch
Pineapple Pete replied to Pineapple Pete's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi kingpinda, Your help worked and I was able to add a modifier switch (lever.) I am in a bit of a conundrum on how to enable both positions of a switch when the default position of a switch is off and does not appear in the in game controller set up when you select the switch. I hope that makes sense because I barely understand what I just wrote. I really do search the manuals but I find the DCS manuals more descriptive rather than a how to step by step which is what I need. Thanks again for your time. -
Warthog Modifier Switch
Pineapple Pete replied to Pineapple Pete's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you for that txmtb. Right now I am learning the Warthog with the TF-51. At the same time that I pick up the HOTAS setup, I bought FC3. So my next endeavor will be the F15C. Man the learning curve is steep. Before I got the Warthog, I spent a lot of time stepping from the smoldering aluminum on the left side of the departure runway. The Warthog has already helped that. I appreciate the help. -
Warthog Modifier Switch
Pineapple Pete replied to Pineapple Pete's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Many thanks for this. Just to let you know how new I am, what or where is the big "latch button?" I will try this with another button until I figure this "latch button" thing out. I appreciate your help. -
Hi All, Very new to the TM Warthog and I am wondering how one can utilize a switch for more than one function. I assume one needs a "modifier" switch or lever. I have been researching how to do this for a few days now and I getting frustrated. Can anyone give me their insights in how to do this? Many thanks. Especially to those fellows who contribute a lot of hard work for we newbies on the forum. Pineapple Pete

Cannot find a TM warthog profile F-15C
Pineapple Pete replied to Vintovka's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Hi Zabusa, Just bought the Warthog Hotas and found these profiles. Before going any further, thank you for sharing these. Just a quick question if I may; How does one employ two functions on the same switch as illustrated by your yellow captions? I am of course trying to keep my hands off of the keyboard and mouse if at all possible. Many thanks.:joystick: -
Thanks Buzzles.

Question about fidelity / realism

Hi cichlidfan, Man you know your way around the forum. I really looked around for this but didn't find it. Many thanks. -
Question about fidelity / realism
Pineapple Pete replied to ekg's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Hey, this fun I am a noob with DCS and I am thinking of buying FC3. So, what is the meaning of FM's, SFM, and PFM (in the airline world PFM is Pure Friggin Magic -G-Rated version) Not trying to be a wise guy. I really would like the correct definition of these although I could probably wager good guess. Many thanks -
Hi All, From what I can determine, the only way to tune for comms is in the mission editor. Since I am still learning the F86, I trying to pre plot a course and fly it after departing via the Instant Action feature. I would to have comms with departing tower and arriving tower but I don't know how to manually tune the radio on the ramp. I have the NDB figured out. Thanks

Thanks!! Good work.

HI Ramstein, Responded earlier but not sure if it posted correctly. Anyway, yes, I still have them. Thanks, Steve

Thanks for taking a swing at this.

I am learning to fly the P-51 slowly as time allows. So, I felt good enough to try the Alamo mission. Why wont my wingman engage ground targets after I ask him to? His response is always "negative." I have tried normal and easy comms but all he does is fly circles around me. BTW I have never seen the "green smoke" Dog is popping. I purposely took off in the wrong direction and "Dog" said that they have me in sight. Maybe they were looking at the wingman who wont follow orders? I am really enjoying DCS but for a casual gamer the learning curve is steep. Many thanks.

Hi TAC-1, I am new to DCS and only fly the P-51D and the F-86. I would love to join up somewhere to learn how to get the most out my flying. I feel alone out here trying to sort it all out. What is LOMAC?
-
Thanks airdoc. I use the TF-51 as a test platform before transferring to P-51. I am off to give it a try. As an aside, I have the CH Products and I am beginning to think I should have gone with the Warthog. i did get rid of the Pro Pedal and went with the Saitek Pedals. Much happier. All in all (being a pilot in real life) it is the pitch control that is giving me the most fits in the P-51 Regards

Can I fly as wingman?

Right! Create an AI flight. Exactly what I cannot figure out how to do. -
Can I fly as wingman?
Pineapple Pete replied to Pineapple Pete's topic in User Created Missions General
Thanks for your thoughts and I agree. I am beginning to think it is part me and part the the CH Fighterstick but I cannot find a smooth pitch scenario. Still can't figure out the mission thing though. -
Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to create a P-51 mission where I can fly as wingman. I think that it would be good practice to follow the the leader and practice formation flying while enroute. I have been messing around in the missions section but can't seem to figure this out. I believe I could fly in a virtual squadron to grt this practice but I am having such a hard time with my pitch curves that I would be a burden to the other pilots. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hello All, I would like some info on a good mouse for DCS use. My old track ball Logitech doesn't do a good job adjusting things like the the direction gyro etc. Thanks
