Hi Focha, I ask since the FAA publishes only the longest LDA on all US sectionals next to each airport, as during an emergency, it becomes very easy to determine what airport you are going to alternate to by looking at that.

Hi SinandGrin, good question! It is certainly our intent to release training for the DCS A-10C, although it won't happen prior to it being released. Perhaps in the future, after we've established ourselves as a major training house we will have access to DCS products prior to them being released, with the intent of releasing training before or as soon as it is released. That being said, I think what you'll see is training for the A-10C won't have to wait until the Black Shark training series is complete. More on this soon. And thanks for the interest!!!

Hi LeadBird, Absoultely, I fully understand it. Trust me, it wasn't easy making the decision to start from simple and then move on to complex, but we ultimately think that's the best for the community as a whole. One thing to keep in mind is even though there are many people that have been flying the Ka-50 for a while now, and are very experienced, it doesn't mean they are doing it right, or that they understand why it is they do it in a certain way. So the basic lessons might help an experienced pilot also. Also, every basic lesson will be specific to the Ka-50, so when we discuss basic aerodynamics, it will be of a coaxial rotor, and not just any rotor, the one on the Ka-50. Finally, thanks again for the words regarding the startup video. I am passionate indeed about training, and I hope that shows in the upcoming lessons!

Hi LeadBird, thanks for the words! All the lessons you see listed on the website are Ka-50 specific. That being said, we considered jumping straight to the advanced stuff, but decided not to. Here's some info in why we made that decision.

We are aiming for a week between each lesson. Since we haven't done it yet, I am not sure if it will be faster or slower than that. but that's our aim right now. By the way, both of your questions (and more!) have been covered in our weekly newsletter, which started earlier this week. You can subscribe by going to the Leading Edge Training website and submitting your email on the newsletter bit on the front page.

Hi herr_LaSk, We are about two weeks away from releasing the first lesson. One of the things we have to wait for before shooting the final videos is the winner of the Leading Edge Paint Scheme Contest, as that will be the livery used for all Flight School lessons. We're almost there!

Thanks Bucic, but it's far from finalized! Granted, a lot of the ground work is done, but we still have to finish shooting the entire Flight School series, then the Combat School. I guess the only thing that gives me solace is that each lesson is pretty well designed, so students will be occupied by the current lesson's study and practice while waiting for the next lesson to come out. We are a team, but I put in a lot of the work. Without the beta testers, though, I'd be nowhere! And ED has been excellent at helping too, they have much interest in this venture succeeding.

Hi coke23, Actually, the manufacturer of the Black Shark, the real helicopter, is Kamov :music_whistling:, and that's what I had meant. I can see how this may be confusing, I have now changed it to this question: "What is the name of the Russian company that makes the Black Shark simulator?" and the answer will be eagle dynamics, capitalization not important (works either way). Thanks again for the feedback!

Updated the forum software, newer version has a feature that allows the registration page to ask a question. If you don't type the right answer, you cannot register. The question I ask is "What is the name of the Russian company that manufactures the Black Shark?". Hopefully this is easy enough for all you guys to figure out, but hard enough that it will keep bots and even human spammers out. It's unfortunate that we have to go to these lengths in the battle against spam, but it was a battle I was losing. So, let's see if this will be able to keep the forums clean from now on. Thanks everyone for the feedback so far.

Thanks dooom, it's truly great to see the support of the whole community and the makers of DCS!!! Not only thought about it, but it will be one of the available media for each lesson. In this day and age, we'd be neglecting technology if we didn't do that, but hey, thanks for the thought, keep the questions and suggestions coming.
