After the latest patch (which from what I understand DCS snuck some Mig updates that weren't ready) the engine sounds are horribly distorted at the 80-100% range. Idle and burner sounds are okay. The high power settings sound far to loud and quite distorted. It's very unpleasant to listen to on a long flight. Other members of my squadron noticed the same thing. I assume this a bug.

I also wanted to make a purchase and only have the PayPal option. I no longer wish to use PayPal as I've had issues in the past with them. Soooo....that means no purchasing until they fix this issue.

The other trick is to make sure you keep some power on until you touch down. Flaring and then chopping the power will smack you down hard.

Following the previously mentioned advice I can land the Mig again. You just have to touch down very very gently...1-2m/s range. :)

My cockpit language is set to English and custom cockpit is on. However, my cockpit is now all in Russian! EDIT: After using the above mentioned fix, it's working properly again.

I've also noticed that since the last update my right landing gear collapses every single time I land. I'm touching down what appears to be gently at around 300 km/hr, fuel less then 700L. As soon as I touch down the right gear immediately collapses and I roll off the right side of the runway and burst into flame. Previous to this patch I had no issues landing. Also, every time I raise and lower the gear it sounds like a machine gun going off.

Who in their right mind would want to buy a product on sale when they can easily pay full price?

I've had the same issue from time to time. I'm pretty sure I've seen the same problem in other aircraft though so I suspect it's more on the DCS side of things.

The other way to "cheat" is to set your altimeter to the current field elevation when first jump in the pit.

Made a mission for Mig-21's and/or F-86's. Using the radio menu to start the mission it will select on of 10 random air intercept missions. These range from intercepting civilian aircraft that strayed off course to bombers, fighters, etc, coming to attack our airfield. Briefing has not been totally finished but you should be able to figure it out. AWAC's is there to guide you to target. :) Download HERE.

As far as I know they are hard coded into the game. I don't think there is a way to enable/disable them.

If you zoom in at all on the HUD it's very dirty. Looks like water spots and dust. Does make it pretty hard to see through.

Not that I'm aware of. I'm sure that will be fixed/changed pretty soon.

Seems after further testing this drop in FPS only will occur when an enemy ground unit with a weapon is in the mission. Aircraft, unarmed vehicles and buildings have no effect. Throw in a ZSU or an infantry man, and boom...FPS of 2 when battery comes on. Very strange.

Just curious now that there are a few 3rd party developers out there how patching works? Does everybody have to wait until DCS releases everybody's patches at once, or can a 3rd party like Leatherneck release patches whenever they're ready?

Upon further testing. This massive FPS drop only occurs when I'm hosting a mission, even if I'm the only person in the server.

Similar issue here. I made a mission with AWACS in it. I can see the AWACS in the radio menu (F7), but nothing happens when I press it. I can hear them chatting to ATC however. I did notice that no matter what frequency I have my radio set to I can contact ATC, I suspect that radios could be bugged? EDIT: Upon further checking, it was my TrackIR that was interfering with selecting F7... :)

+1 Exact same issue for me. FPS drops from +30 to 1-2 when DC batt turned on when hosting.

Hi Cobra, Yes I did test this out. Made a new mission with a Mig-21 on the ground. Hopped in and same issue. Edit: I guess I should clarify, this only seems to happen on user made missions as far as I've seen.

Took me a few minutes to find the parachute release button also. :)

I'm having an issue with the Mig-21 when I'm doing the cold start procedure. When I turn on the DC battery my FPS suddenly drops from 30ish to 1-2. I'm also getting a low bass buzzing sound at the same time. This issue only seems to come up from a cold start mission and even then it seems to randomly happen. When trying instant action missions or training everything seems to run fine. I uninstalled DCS World, deleted the remaining C:\DCS World folder structure and re-installed with the same result. Anybody else have any ideas or suggestions?

My impression is that they have well since moved on from the Mi-8. Havnt heard a word about development in a very long time. I don't think the patch that broke even had any Hip updates. I can see them saying it's a DCS problem not theirs. I predict 6-12 months before it's fixed.
