  1. Everytime I fly this beautiful plane I end up with busted/broken gyro. May I humbly request the damage model for gyro damage be made less sensitive. Most times after some savage dogfighting I am flying with broken gyros so compass direction not available. Takes away from the fun of the game and current level of sensitivity does not seem realistic. Am aware it was a weakness in the real aircraft. Gary
  2. Thanks Py for your info. Yes I am starting to think this is something aerodynamic. And the plane does not like the high AOA + low speed created by an aggressive and maximum pull back of joystick. I can also get this problem with the F-14 not just the F-18. Problem never happens on the ground ... only when severe loop is done with full pull back of joystick. Easing off on the joystick pull always stops the problem...Gary
  3. When I use my Joystick (Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS) for extreme pitch up/down; the elevator on tail of plane bounces around erratically making aircraft unstable. Only occurs when joystick is pushed forward or pulled back to an extreme position; where joystick is say in its last 20% of its travel range full back or full forward. This problem occurs with both F14 and F18 which are the modules I use. If I ease the joystick back to a more moderate position away from the more extreme positions the problem goes away. Seems worse particularly with pitch up more so than with pitch down. I know the problem is not with my Joystick (Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS) as I have two of these. One is brand new and the other one is about 12 months old. The problem occurs on both joysticks. If I go to the Thrustmaster Control Panel (image attached) and test the pitch up down axis; the centre cross within the Axes is absolutely stable and does not behave erratically at all with joystick in any position. I do not have any conflicts within controls settings for pitch axis. Please refer to thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3980548#post3980548 I do not think this is normal behaviour unless there is something I just do not understand. Or maybe it is just a bug that DCS need to sort out. Any suggestions would be appreciated...thx...Gary p.s. Have noticed after further gameplay that pitch trim function does not appear to be working either. Though this is only a problem with F18 **running w7/64 and using a MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Duke OC 11GB, 16GB RAM Kingston Hyper X Genesis-DDR3L-1600 on Asus Z87C MOBO, CPU is i7 4770, no overclocking, OS on an Intel SSD and DCS on dedicated Samsung 850Pro.
  4. Force Feedback is disabled. Problem occurs with/without Force Feedback being enabled. Have attached a couple of Track Files demonstrating the problem when I do a pitch up loop in F18. Initially I do not do an extreme pull back of joystick to its maximum range; but then I do and then the problem can be seen in the video. The problem is much worse in pull up rather than push down of pitch. Also use a Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle Controller which has a mini joystick and the same problem occurs with that device too Strangely as mentioned in previous post; pitch trim for F18 does not work either...both are pitch related issues...Gary p.s. I do not have any Mods erratic bouncing elevators when do a loop in F18 .trk another view of erratic bouncing elevators when do a loop in F18 .trk

  6. I actually mute sound as F14 is spawned then unmute to solve problem. My PC is connected to a hifi system with a powerful 12 inch MK subwoofer which will reveal bass frequencies others may not experience with small PC speakers etc. This sound I am talking about is very loud ... much louder than say F18 spawning sound or other aircraft...perhaps the sound file dealing with this specific sound can be reduced for F14. Draconus it is much louder than sound of F14 landing on carrier deck. I have my volume control on Asus sound card GUI set at about 9am when this sound occurs so is not set hi...Thanks for input IronMike, Cobra847, FoxTwo, SVgamer72, =BJM=
  7. All this information makes logical sense...however how about making the sound quieter so is not so joltingly loud. This is the problem... it is very loud.
  8. Thanks Fox2 ... I will need to study the Controls-Camera category... an area of controls I need to learn more how to use....this game u never stop learning. Gary
  9. Sound is excessively loud as explained here by other members. Also is not a sound natural to a unstarted plane...has no purpose. I think it occurs with all aircraft too...Gary
  10. When one hits 'Fly' button on Briefing Window to start game play for F-14 Cold Start (Nevada, Caucasus etc) the volume of this thumping sound as you enter cockpit view is severely loud...enough to damage speakers if system volume is high enough. Needs to be less or not exist at all. Gary
  11. This switch to the right of the pilots right hip is not visible as it is covered by the pilots seat belt buckle. Is a guess really as to whether it is in the 'Shut Off' position or in the 'Normal' position. Perhaps the buckle can be slightly relocated onto the seat enabling clear view of switch and its position. Would be an improvement as it is used during cold start of F14. Gary
  12. When I switch from cockpit view to an external view such as chase view; the rendering of the full afterburner effect is briefly gone for about 1 second and then resumes. Working correctly the afterburner with full engine flame should be there instantly when I switch from cockpit view to an external view. I noticed this on F14 free flight mission within the Caucasus map. Minor bug but thought I would post it for developers to check out...Gary My system specs are: running W7/64bit and using a MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Duke OC 11GB, 16GB RAM Kingston Hyper X Genesis-DDR3L-1600 on Asus Z87C MOBO, CPU is i7 4770, no overclocking, OS on an Intel SSD and DCS on dedicated Samsung 850Pro.
  13. Issue reported for F18 hornet at: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=233505 also happens with L39 but is an intermittent problem. Is at: ED Forums » English » Digital Combat Simulator » DCS: F/A-18C Hornet » Bugs » [REPORTED] DCS 2.5.4.28090 cross wind causing roll
  14. Occasionally upon Exit of DCS I get a frozen computer and hard restart is needed. A Google search on this found some information indicating that de-selecting Full Screen under System Options prevents this...I will need to test for some time to see if this is true as this problem occurs only once in a while. However I am curious to know what does selecting or deselecting Full Screen actually do ... as with either choice DCS plays in Full Screen (which is what I want anyway). I have only deselected it as I hope it will fix the first issue mentioned in this thread. My Specs are: **running w7/64 and using a MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Duke OC 11GB, 16GB RAM Kingston Hyper X Genesis-DDR3L-1600 on Asus Z87C MOBO, CPU is i7 4770, no overclocking, OS on an Intel SSD and DCS on dedicated Samsung 850Pro. 15. Thanks MadDog-IC. Sounds like will be fixed next update mid january. Also noticed you are using windows8 and a tester, so perhaps you could bring to eds attention issue at my thread at: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=227896 ED Forums » English » Digital Combat Simulator » DCS World 2.5 » Bugs and Problems » View System » PC Going into Standby While Playing DCS World 2.5.4.25729 OpenBeta thx gary
  16. Looks like perhaps a bug/error that was accidentally implemented at DCS with latest update. In time they will probably fix it. They do check: ED Forums » English » Digital Combat Simulator » DCS World 2.5 » Bugs and Problems so hopefully will see this Thread.... Is obviously not on just my install and a universal issue...thanks for confirming guys..gary
  17. Since update 2.5.4.25729 open beta I notice the Communication Menu>ATC>Request to Land menu choice is not available anymore? Appears to be missing across all maps and all aircraft. Just mentioned it here as it appears to be a bug...gary
  18. Mostly play single player missions when using DCS which I create myself within mission editor. Sounds like VRAM on 11GB GPU will be needed more when I graduate to multiplayer and even more complex missions. Also my system RAM is DDR3 type so somewhat old...eventually when rebuild PC will go for 32GB DDR6 system RAM so plenty of overhead and speed too...thx all for information...GAry
  19. Am also trying to understand why it is more of my DDR5 11GB of GPU onboard RAM is not being used more. Often my MOBO RAM is close to full 16GB capacity and Pagefile close to 20GB allocated, yet rarely see GPU RAM much above 8GB or its 11GB capacity?? Bit confused as it is the highest quality RAM of the 3 possible types of memory. Can I change this somehow? Thx Gary
  20. Since this problem has only happened after latest DCS 2.5.4.25729 openbeta update; it sounds like a bug with change of new update. Like me Esac_mirmidon I notice you are also on W7. If I use either keyboard or mouse before my set 25 minutes for standby problem does not happen. Hopefully ed with look into it and fix...gary
  21. I have power setting for monitor to go into standby-off after 25 minutes of inactivity. It has happened several times while actually playing DCS 2.5.4.25729 openbeta that the monitor turns off going into standby while I am still playing DCS; providing I have not touched either the mouse or keyboard for 25 minutes- the same period of time as my set standby period. As all of my controls to fly FA-18 Hornet are on my joystick and throttle; in my case it is possible for me to play for 25 minutes without touching either the keyboard or mouse, and then PC goes into standby while I am still playing DCS using just Thrustmaster joystick and throttle. If I simply move mouse or touch any keyboard key monitor comes back on as expected so I can continue to see and play DCS. Sounds like a bug where exclusive use of just joystick and throttle for 25 minutes without touching mouse or keyboard; does not prevent standby from happening. Problem has only happened after this latest update.
  22. Thanks Bitmaster...I will experiment a bit more but notice your system specs are higher than mine which are: w7/64 and using a MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Duke OC 11GB, 16GB RAM Kingston Hyper X Genesis-DDR3L-1600 on Asus Z87C MOBO, CPU is i7 4770, no overclocking, OS on an Intel SSD and DCS on dedicated Samsung 850Pro. I have not bothered with the W10 nightmare though know DCS performance is increased with W10. Support stops for W7 early 2020 so may have to use W10 especially if DCS ever stop support for W7. Maybe by then Microsoft will have improved the W10 experience. Maybe not? GAry
  23. Shimmering Issue + My Settings, Gary Thanks Bitmaster here are my settings. Shimmering for Causcus map is greatly improved with latest update as mentioned; but still exists mostly in Nevada and other maps. Something has changed at DCS end with Causcus map. SSAA I do not use at it greatly increases stutter. Can u suggest any other setting NV or with game I could improve on? Gary **running w7/64 and using a MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Duke OC 11GB, 16GB RAM Kingston Hyper X Genesis-DDR3L-1600 on Asus Z87C MOBO, CPU is i7 4770 **no overclocking
  24. Just updated to OpenBeta 2.5.4.25729 today 21Dec18 and can say shimmering issue has improved considerably. Looks like something done with this update has mostly solved the issue. Especially with the Causcus map. A lot of the changes with this update related to textures so assume something about the textures within DCS was a major cause of the issue. Hopefully they will do the same thing with the other maps like nevada etc. Is good news so am happy with that. Gary
