  1. Am running Windows7-64bit for DCS 1.5 & 2.0 Wanting to know what is a 'STABLE' problem free Nvidia Driver for ASUS GeForce GTX1060 STRIX OC 6GB which I am about to install into my PC. Am a bit wary of latest drivers as sometimes they are not the best for this game. For example am currently using Nvidia driver 359.06 on my current GTX770 graphic card. Is not the latest but is problem free. Would love to hear from someone with similar setup as me and can give me good information as to what driver is stable with the GTX1060 and my setup. Thanks ... Gary
  2. Greywoolf I am not sure if this will help, but modules must be installed from within the game's module manager. So go to module manager within each of DCS 1.5.6 and 2.0.5 - modules to be installed will show as needing to be installed within each version of DCS module manager. Hope that helps...Gary
  3. thx raso+r; and how do you find the samsung evo 850ssd for gaming? does DCS update ok if not on default drive C?
  4. With current/only install of DCS; which is DCS 1.5.6 I only have 24GB of free space on my C drive which is an Intel 120GB SSD. Want to install DCS 2.0 to a separate Samsung SSD so will not be on same drive as Windows7-64bit OS. In long term when DCS heads in the direction of a unified DCS involving Caucaus, Normandy and Nevada maps plus more; I would not be able to fit such a big install on my current C Drive. Is it possible for me to keep current DCS 1.5.6 install; which is on C drive with OS, but also install DCS 2.0 on separate drive and use all my modules purchased on both versions/installs without licensing issue. Installations will be on same computer?? Have high end MOBO, CPU and RAM, GRAPHICS CARD so will I notice any performance or other issues as DCS 2.0 will not be running on default location of C drive but on another SSD?? Are they any known issues with having two versions of DCS installed and particularly with running DCS 2.0 on separate hard drive to C drive??
  5. Noticed with the Spitfire centre view (number pad 5 on number pad) does not and cannot be assigned to the '5' key on number pad..just mentioning it as it is probably a bug or missing element.
  6. Latest 1.5.5 beta is a big update 4TB plus. I usually wait several weeks then do update so more sorted out by developers before I update. If you look at: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2941506&postcount=38 You will see at bottom they have attended to some issues with F-5 so maybe try again in a week or so as fixes get done. Gary
  7. BuggyUpgrade>1.5.5.58642.188betaMissingModules,M20 00C/F5+ &Ka50FileNotMoved Here r logs 4U. Did have Avast enabled when did update. This update took about 1hr 10min to download and I do not like leaving AV or Malwarebytes off for that long. No other DCS running. Thanks Gary autoupdate_log.txt
  8. Update to latest 1.5.5 version resulted in no M2000C and F5-E modules in module manager. Also Ka50 file not moved as per details in attached JPEG file image. Version I updated from was: 1.5.4.57288. Am just providing this to developers as bugs needing sorting out. I did a repair back to 1.5.4 version and all is working no problem. Can someone let me know if this is the right place to report a bug to? Gary
  9. i do not know if this is related but here it goes. updated to DCSWorld1.5.3.50487 , think the following may be minor bug that needs attention in future. Situation is with M2000/Instant Action/Guns, Guns, Guns mission-if M2000 collides with another aircraft mid-air Windows7 closes game. The mid-air collision with described scenario only happens with 1.5.3
  10. JUST DO A COLD BOOT OF THE COMPUTER AND THAT FIXED IT PERMANENTLY FOR ME. MAKE SURE TO LEAVE POWER SUPPLY OFF FOR SEVERAL MINUTES UNTIL ALL MOBO LIGHTS ARE NOT LIT WITH ANY RESIDUAL POWER.
  11. Using DCS 1.52xxxxs and settings close to max the Nvidia 77OGTX is fine. No clamping, stutter or crash etc. Can really crisp up and sharpen the quality by manipulating the DOF (depth of field settings) with Notepad as : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=154950 The 306.59 driver is fine and I think my PC is slightly more responsive for it...seems snappier. Was using 331.82 before. Newer graphical engine in 1.5.2xxxx seems more efficient at processing video for this game. I am using same settings as 1.2 but getting a much sharper smoother game experience. Only thing is my modules do not have serials listed?? ...but all installed and play fine. Occasionally the game exits as I travel from the options window to the main UI where all planes images at bottom of screen. Happens 5% of the time. Figure it is a bug for DCS to sort. Had some updater issues initially but found going the torrent download seemed less hassle as it stopping as in HTTP download for update updater. Updating to the newest updater helped too. I installed 356.09 well before the game. Attached is the DOF change how to .. copy the original DOF file somewhere safe beforehand. Thanks .. Gary Depth of field and Vaseline external view.zip
  12. thx Don...glad to hear the new graphics engine of DCS World is more efficient and streamlined for GPU to deal with+DX11. yes was running DCS1.2 before and its older graphics engine. my GPU is: ASUS GeForce GTX770 DirectCU II OC 2GB onboard RAM ..like the Asus quiet and well built quality wise. regarding RAM my physical RAM is: Kingston Hyperx 16GB (8GB x 64-Bit x 2) DDR3L-1600 and my page file is set to 8GB. Windows set it to automatic at 16GB which most seem to think is excessive and a space hogger much like the hibernation file which I have also removed. By the way if you go the Windows10 down track it does not crash when RAM hits the roof ... so no crashes...instead it will pause the game and notify you to make changes such as hardware, vram or shutting down other applications. i do not bother with any kind of overclocking as stability issues are not worth all the bother often for very little gain. I should mention that I only run DCS on one monitor though I have a dual monitor setup so card only has to deal with the one monitor. plan to leave DCS2.0 for about a year or so as it is too alpha/beta at this point and I guestimate it will take that long to be really sorted. have purchased the Nevada test range but will need to shelve it until then. Just got the Mirage 2000 which only works with 1.5 onward not 1.2 I will have to experiment with settings once I am up and running after install.
  13. Thanks Don...that is good info and reassuring for me. I like to do my homework before I install DCS1.5 OB...saves a lot of frustration trying to solve crashes, bsod etc. I do not know if you can answer this but how do you think my rig would cope with extra demands of the 1.5 and it new graphical engine? Of course it may be less demanding as the software may be more efficient and streamlined? My specs are: Computer type PC/Desktop OS Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 CPU Intel® Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Z87-C Memory 16.00 GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 Sound Card Asus Xonar Essence STX Monitor(s) Displays 2X Dell U2713H Screen Resolution 2560 x 1440 x 32 bits (4294967296 colors) @ 59 Hz Hard Drives (1) INTEL SSDSC2CW120A3 ATA Device (2) WDC WD1001FALS-00J7B0 ATA Device (3) WDC WD10EARS-00MVWB0 ATA Device (4) Generic- SD/MMC/MS/MSPRO USB Device (5) HP Photosmart C6180 USB Device (6) SanDisk Cruzer Switch USB Device (7) ST2000DM 001-1 Antivirus Avast Pro Antivirus Thx....Gary
  14. Thanks for that dburne. I have just recently done a fresh install of Windows7-64bit and am about to reinstall to DCS World 1.5beta (before was using version 1.2). I have installed Nvidia driver 359.06 and after a bit of research on net it seems somewhat problematic for users of Windows10...so was wondering how it goes with W7+DCS+359.06 combination. I have installed with just only driver and physX and really dislike that GeForce Experience software. It can cause BSOD with it Nvidia Streamer service which must be disabled in Services and seems to like making update not your choice, even if you configure it not to update. Really is GeForce bad experience. I believe DCS World 1.5beta is about to be made into a stable release (non-beta) and was wondering how have you found its stability? Also did you or have you used it with 359.06? Thanks again...Gary
  15. Hi, have Windows 7-64bit running DCS World1.5Beta with my Nvidia GTX770 Graphic card. Can someone tell what is the best 'stable' driver version with my setup. Currently using 359.06 driver and it is not stable. Maybe someone out there with same setup may have some idea of which driver version is trouble free. Thankyou in advance....Gary
