  1. Eaglewings go to: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/ and download the 2.5 beta installer and run it...do not delete you 2.2 Alpha as much will be copied from it to new 2.5 beta during the install process. Later on you will be given the choice to delete 2.2 alpha however I suggest you keep it if you have the space on drives to do so. Later on if all is well after some time and it suits you then uninstall 2.2 alpha...Gary
  2. Thanks Azrayen...it does seem that there is quite a bit of variation as to how to land M2000C. My method works well for me and considers the real world situation where landing is one of the most risky aspects of flying and a busy time for any pilot. I like it to be as least busy as possible so I can focus (without annoying beep of master caution) on the motor skill of flying; especially regards balancing of throttle and joystick to touch down like a feather. Am good at it as I have practised landing well over a thousand times at least on this plane using this method. For example I like landing the Mirage on the very short Echo Bay airport in Nevada as it is very difficult to do this especially with a Delta wing jet such as the Mirage. Using LALT+A prior to landing works for me and causes no problems to cause a bad landing. Understand that others will have their own version of how to land this plane which I respect. After many attempts I recently managed to land the Harrier Jet VTOL at the bottom pad of the Hoover Dam. I should mention I have something of an obsession with fine motor skill aspects of flying and doing it in a manual way even though many aircraft have much automation. Gary
  3. Keep It Simple...Landing of M2000C Am quite surprised how complicated some users landing process is. Download Chuck's Guide for M2000C and study pages 50,51 &52 and look at the training video 1 of 3. Chucks's Guides for DCS aircraft are excellent to study things. Free and clear and easy to understand and are at: http://www.mudspike.com/chucks-guides-dcs/ Forget about trim upon landing and instead balance throttle and joystick to do it smooth and gentle upon touchdown...if alarm bothers you then use LALT+A (autopilot into standby mode) before landing/touchdown which will set trim to neutral position....if it is no bother then do not use LALT+A and tolerate the alarm. I recommend: *raising pilots seat with 5 right clicks of mouse *enable FBW G-Limiter mode (toggle down) - is just below landing green lights, as this will make joystick input not so sensitive, then reset warning light. *always align plane to airstrip a long way out *landing gear down at 230knots or less *do not apply brakes until 100knots or less and do so in a pulse manner...apply for 1second, off for 1 second *upon touchdown keep front wheel of the ground for as long as possible so wings act as huge airbrake *use airbrakes too for extra braking as well upon touchdown *turn on nose wheel steering under 50knots Hope this helps with Landing of M2000C......Gary
  4. Effective Solution After much trial and error this is what works consistently: LALT-A to put autopilot into standby mode before landing/touchdown which will set trim to neutral position. *There is no clickable button on joystick to reset trim to neutral setting* "Autopilot on>Autopilot off" does not work consistently "You can double tap the AP standby to reset the trim" just one execution of LALT-A is enough "trim before landing, by pressing on Autopilot Standby" cannot be pressed as in no such button available on joystick ... use LALT-A Hope this helps others, as it will get rid of that annoying Master Caution Lights (top left of cockpit) and associated buzzer sound...beep, beep, beep......Gary

  6. I have worked out the button is not a clickable on the stick. But answers on two posts so far are: "Autopilot on>Autopilot off" "You can double tap the AP standby to reset the trim" Does this mean LALT-A twice? "trim before landing, by pressing on Autopilot Standby" "Reset FBW' "Use LALT-A to put autopilot into standby mode" Nothing consistent though, so shall just experiment until one of these works better than the others. I was looking for one straightforward action to reset trim before landing. I gather all of these are about resetting the trim to a neutral position before landing and take off. Thankyou..Gary
  7. Where is this button on the stick..does not seem to exist?? Where is this button on the stick..does not seem to exist?? Can see it in manual but is not accessible and on other side (not visible) in cockpit on stick
  8. in a real world M2000 this button is behind the stick away from the pilots perspective...the side facing the front of the plane. It does not appear to be in the game as how would you select it... behind and out of sight. I suppose that is why DCS mapped it to LALT-A. gary
  9. Autopilot standby is done by keyboard LALT-A...however I cannot find a button in cockpit or along the Autopilot row of buttons top left of cockpit...called Autopilot Standby...any idea anybody where it is located. Pic would help. None of the Autopilot button seemed to be called this...thx Gary
  10. Often when I land M2000C just after touch down I frequently set off the Master Caution Lights (top left of cockpit) and associated buzzer sound...beep, beep, beep. Not sure what is causing this and wonder if anyone has any ideas. Seems to be worse upon a harder landing? What is the fix? Can happen also upon a reasonably soft landing too. . . Gary
  11. Install Process Prompts. Only have 2.2 Open Alpha installed and shall do the download update when 2.5 Final is released. Am aware that once I download the installer from: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/2.5 Final, download process will start and at some point will copy from 2.2 Open Alpha modules, Nevada, Normandy maps to 2.5 Final. New Caucasus map of course is new so will need downloading with 2.5 Final. Question1. What prompts will I see during the install process? What do they ask/mean? Question2. What is the approximate download size of 2.5 Final and new Caucasus map? Would really appreciate info from someone who has done a download install of 2.5 Beta where 2.2 Open Alpha is their only DCS version. I have all modules and Nevada and Normandy already. Thx...Gary
  12. Thanks BIGNEWY...makes sense now. I gather the empty orange squares fill up or progress in some manner should a user receive a warning....Gary
  13. Thanks Yurgon...I still do not know what 5 'orange' squares mean...are they a thumbs down or a thumbs up as in from other users. I also cannot find a post from another user anywhere in Forum pages who has them. Is a minor thing really but tricky to interpret. thx..Gary
  14. The 2.6.24.27 is the updater version ... not the game itself... it often updates before game update...hope that helps
  15. I have 0% warnings but also have 5 orange squares. What does that mean? Please look at pic attached. Why are some green squares lighter and others darker? What do red and green squares mean? What does a black square mean? Where can I find something that explains all of this in a clear manner. Confused. Gary
  16. Efficiency of New 2.5 Open Beta-Graphical Settings. Currently I have 2.2 Open Alpha and will not be doing the big update until 2.5 Final happens. Would like some feedback if possible regarding how efficient the new version is in terms of game and Nvidia graphic settings. Does it allow one to increase ones settings or is it even more resource hungry and therefore one would need to decrease graphical settings. Am wanting feedback from anyone going from 2.2 to 2.5 and their thoughts re my question. I only play in single player mode.
  17. Questions Q1. Can I update from current install of DCS World 2.2 OpenAlpha to 2.5 after DCS2.5 FINAL done, so less bugs and also not doing download/install when rush on servers happening? Am patient and can wait for a smoother journey with change. Q2. Will DCS 2.5 include new Caucasus map, so is integral to 2.5 and not a paid for module? Q3. Should I disable Antivirus and Malware software and Windows Firewall prior download process? Q4. My only and current install of DCS World is DCS World 2.2 Open Alpha which has Nevada and Normandy Map and every aircraft module included, so is 85GB used of a Samsung 238GB SSD. This means I have 153GB free. Is this enough total space to do the update to 2.5 FINAL, as at some point both my current 2.2 and 2.5 FINAL will both be on this drive together. When prompted after install I will dump 2.2 so just 2.5 FINAL? ...........Thanks Gary
  18. Antivirus, Malware Software & Windows Firewall Exclusions REMINDER After all done with big update to DCS 2.5 don't forget to redo paths for Antivirus, Malware Software & Windows Firewall Exclusions for folders, files and processes to be excluded. Also make sure to disable them during the update..Gary
  19. I keep hearing positive feedback about 388.71 and some negative feedback about 390.65, so shall keep 388.71 .................Hopefully it will work well with DCS big update to DCS2.5 So glad we have DDU as an effective uninstaller...Gary
  20. Thankyou Art-J and miro071. Be careful of Windows Update. I only update for 3 months after OS install and then do not bother unless they attend to a specific issue I need to solve. Avast and Malwarebytes have served me well and I have not seen a virus or malware for years. Little by little Windows Update will make your OS problematic. It will result in need for a clean install of OS much earlier than if you do not use it. Gary
  21. Hi Miro071...would you be able to tell me what fps you are getting within M2000C and Harrier within cockpit ( with cockpit related settings at max ). If unable thanks anyway... Gary
  22. Nvidia Driver 390.65, Windows7-64bit, GTX1060 Graphic Card Am running ASUS GeForce GTX1060 STRIX OC 6GB graphic card, Windows7-64bit with DCS World 2.2 Can anybody give my feedback about latest Nvidia driver 390.65 who has similar rig as me. Any issues, is it smoother etc. Gary
  23. Am currently using the latest Nvidia driver 388.71 and it is the best so far with my particular setup: ASUS GeForce GTX1060 STRIX OC 6GB, Windows7-64bit running DCS World 2.2 is the smoothest for graphics and any stutter/lag seems to be DCS related...Gary
  24. Am running Windows7-64bit OS with Asus GTX1060 graphic card using latest 388.71 Nvidia driver and 16Gb of quality Kingston RAM. *Problem is one of severe video jitter/stutter when landing/touchdown AV8B N/A Harrier Module at airports around Los Vegas within the Nevada map. *Problem is worse at Nellis airfield but can occur at other airports around Los Vegas area. *Problem occurred with my previous graphic driver Nvidia 378.66 as well; and DCS support indicated with update to DCS World 2.2 I should update to latest driver which I have done; yet problem still exists. *Problem does not occur with any other module including Mirage 2000C by RAZBAM. *Problem is worst when landing at Nellis airfield or when taxing from ramp onto Nellis airfield runway to take off. *Problem sometimes does not occur but on most occasions does occur. *Problem does not occur with AV8B N/A Harrier when flying within the Normandy map of DCS World. *I run the game graphic setting slightly less than max setting which allows me to use other module aircraft with smooth video graphics with occasional minor stutter Sounds like some sort of bug with AV8B N/A Harrier Module that needs sorting out as it does not occur with other modules. Is this a known issue or a new issue and does anyone have any solutions? Or is this a case of a new early release module problem that will be sorted out as the AV8B N/A Harrier Module is updated and improved? Any information would be appreciated. Thx......Gary
  25. Thanks Art-J and Amazingme. I tried your suggestions and turning MSAA on (2x & 4x) and increasing it did reduce the shimmering but would not get rid of it; and at the expense of smooth game play (stuttering). I prefer smooth game play over shimmering so have passed on these solutions. Shimmering is an issue with open alpha DCS2.0 anyway and may improve in future as game evolves. Part of the solution rests with DCS crew on this one as they improve the software... Thankyou for your help...Gary
