  1. There is a video of how to turn off core parking on youtube, have to go through registry...Once its done, its done and helped my stuttering for sure...Until a Windows Update, I have had it reset to default on once or twice...so just go back and do it again if so...
  2. Thought I might add the fact that using W11 Pro for server OS, I have applied a lot of settings that one would normally use to stop stuttering/lag/low fps on a pc flying as a client. Such as ED folder and saved games folder have Windows Defender exclusions, core parking turned off, HAGS off, ultimate power plan, turned off shadows and transparency, setting pagefile size, reducing mouse polling rate to 1000 or less, Game Mode off and disable USB selective suspend. Not sure how many of these are actually helping server performance but I figured since it works well for my flying pc, it couldn’t hurt for server either.
  3. @Actium dedicated server is not multi-threaded... I rented a server for a few months with 6 cores/32gb ram and 10gb storage for mods. Ran a heavy mission regularly, after about 2 hours, missions started to have lag, desync and rubberbanding issues. I ended up building a server with spare parts after a huge hardware upgrade to my flying PC. Now running a dedicated server out of my home with a dedicated fiber connection at 1gbps up/down speed, i7-12700k CPU/Z690 mobo, Windows 11 Pro, 64gb of DDR4-3600 ram and a 2TB Samsung 980Pro Gen4 SSD with 7000mb/sec read/write speed. I now have several very heavy missions with 2400 static/ai units (think populated air bases with static aircraft, ground vehicles and ground crew all over the place...static units are in 1800 unit range, the rest AI/client units). Server gets rebooted every 5-6 days, mission stays up with resume on client to pause when server empty. Have had 10 people on from different parts of globe at same time and have absolutely no issues whatsoever...CPU usage, Ram usage, SSD usage, internet usage/ping all low with 10 people.
  4. I just updated a large server mission to save with new update. All ground units are still appearing properly for me, verified visually with ctrl-f11 view that all redfor tanks, btr are still there.
  5. As a mission creator/dedicated server host, after waiting for so long to see this feature come to fruition, its frustrating to see it so poorly implemented at start. No static object save, AWACS with orbit times, Carriers with ICLS, ACLS, Link4 as well as any AI unit with advanced waypoint actions wont be saved. I'm not sure which mission creators ED collaborated with to come up with the release features but there is nothing in here but things that will make a comprehensively built mission unusable after saving.
  6. @-Scrat- i did a hardware upgrade and clean reinstall on my pc recently and noticed TrackIR/track clip pro stuttering after installing latest software, I think 5.5.2 or 3? Was using 5.4.2 with no issues up until that point. I got mine semi-reasonable with the latest software by setting custom smoothing and speed but I plan on giving the downgrade a in the near future. You can determine if the stuttering is from TIR by just looking straight ahead. If u have stutters like that, it’s not TrackIR, I got my stutters only when looking around which indicates it is most likely TrackIR issues. Also, set your fps to either 60 or 120. TrackIR polls at 120 so u need to have fps set to either for it to work properly.
  7. Make sure you have completely uninstalled all of the TrackIR and Natural Point folders before reinstalling the 5.4.2 software...You can google the post about the full instructions. The simple uninstall app will not work. Also, make sure you have Windows Defender exceptions for TrackIR in 2 different places. You can google that part also.
  8. On our server I had a mission that used AI mi-24, mi-28 and Ka-50 helicopters. On average it took 5-6 manpad shots to kill a helicopter and I also watched an Mi-24 take 10, yes 10 direct manpad hits before it was destroyed. One manpad should be able to bring down a helicopter with a direct hit and 2 should most certainly get the job done. This has been an issue for a ridiculously long time already and seriously degrades the immersion level and enjoyment of DCS. Can we finally get someone to address this?

  9. @Special K It starts as soon as the main menu opens and stays that way even when flying. As soon as I close DCS completely, core usage drops down to normal. Setting affinity or priority does not change the core usage for me either. And at this point I have just about every single recommended setting implemented to stop stuttering, lag and get best fps.

  11. That was for new stutter that appeared after I had messed with the settings in GPU Tweak III, the 100% core issue is still present. Ill send you a new DCS log when i get a chance.

  14. I’ll remove my mods again and start it up to get a fresh log. Special K took a look at it a few days ago as well when I posted in ED discord but didnt find anything concrete.
  15. I noticed some stuttering 2 updates ago and its only been getting worse. Checked Task Manager and found 2 P-cores consistently reaching 100% usage even with just the main DCS window open and it stays the same in game as well. W11 Pro, Nvidia drivers, mobo bios all up to date. Removed all mods, ran long repair, confirmed core parking is off, hardware acceleration off, game mode off, high performance power plan on, setting priority or affinity, nothing makes a difference, all pc temps are pretty low so no thermal throttling... As soon as I hit launch button and DCS starts, its happens. Even in completely empty SP mission with only a single client aircraft... Specs are i9-13900k/64gb DDR5 6400 ram/Z790E mobo/asus 4090oc/2tb gen5 ssd Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  16. Not necessarily in this order but… 1 - For new fog features, have each fog key with sliders to control time/thickness so the fog can be gradually reduced. In missions, I would like to have fog slowly dissipate as time goes on and sun comes up as well as introduce fog as sun goes down. The current fog keys are cumbersome to use. Also have fog have patches where it’s thicker and thinner instead of just whatever the setting is. 2 - Have air temperature slider so I can increase temps as sun comes up and decrease as sun goes down. 3 - Have a setting for location randomness of weather settings like light rain one. Say I am using Afghan map and light rain 1 setting, the rain always seems to be in the same location. 4 - Super carrier, make an checkbox option to disable one or more catapults so I can add static aircraft/objects without messing up the launch crew system. Also provide a detailed map or instruction guide of where spawn locations are on carrier and where deck crew handlers go and be able to disable the directors for each cat as well. Possibly be able to block spawn locations as well. 5 - When placing client aircraft with take off from ground option, can only adjust placement direction in 1 degree increments, add 1/10th of a degree increment as you can do with static objects. 6 - AI aircraft have option to take off from ground in addition to take off from ramp only. When using take off from ramp, in ME the orientation and placement of the aircraft is not true as it is in mission. 7 - More selection of AI aircraft with better 3d models. C-17, CH-53, SH-60 models are horrible and seriously detract from immersion. Add new static aircraft like T-7, T-38, F-22, F-35, airliners, GA aircraft/helicopters even if they are only statics and not AI. Remove airliners built into terrain modules and offer as new airliners as objects to place, they currently look terrible.
  17. Do u have any mods installed? Specifically LOTatc, SLmod or Olympus. I have had issues where I have seen that before in my logs. LOTatc was a big culprit as well as Olympus. That being said, I have an installation of SLmod that I just can’t figure out how to remove and I’m sure it was causing some of the conflicts with the other mods. Now I just don’t use Olympus or LOTatc and I have no issues.

  20. The dedicated server has all anti virus exclusions already, problem is when I put up mission on server to test and my pc crashed. But I also have all anti-virus exclusions for DCS, SRS, etc…was able to recover log of anyone could be so kind as to check it out for me. dcs.log
  21. I have a mission on server that just gave me a CTD to my desktop with the same shipTrail.lua being called multiple times. I have 2 carrier groups and some armed speed boats in mission but no trigger zone for the carrier to go through. No trouble loading on server and fixed wing seemed fine the other day. Flying Apache and got the CTD after about 20 minutes in and about 2-3 minutes after destroying speedboats with hellfires. Anything else that could be causing it? Unfortunately I loaded DCS again so log is no longer available
  22. Not this... We massively bought into EA and pre-purchases with certain expectations, whether those expectations are provided by ED to the customer or implied by ED to the customer. If customers had expectations that were not provided nor implied then that is their own fault. Nobody is blaming "others" and certainly we are not weird. There are issues and they come from both sides and the solution for the customer side is to not massively buy into EA or pre-purchases in the future. If we do not buy in, then the solution for ED is to change. You stated they wouldn't survive the other way but I am quite certain they would change the way they do business if EA purchases dropped like a hot rock. That being said, history is full of stories of companies that didn't adapt their business models to the future and either became a fraction of their former selves or went out of business completely. Telling us that we have to accept it or else is just not acceptable. The F-16 was one of the worst releases to date and those expectations provided or implied were not met. Did they eventually fix it, yes, eventually. I am not a cynical person by nature but one has to wonder whether ED is trying to set a lower standard of expectation of what early access provides, whether this is due to financial strain or workforce issues or mismanagement.
  23. This... I have also previously purchased every module as they became available while knowing that a majority of them would become hangar queens. I did this to "support" ED and 3rd party developers as well. Not to mention all of the money spent on hardware just to fly DCS. For the last few years, I have only purchased models that I know I will fly regularly. At some point I feel that ED has changed the lens in which it looks at its customer base but I do also feel that we as customers gave them the new lens to look at us with. By such a large portion of the base purchasing modules in early access we surely remove the urgency and priority that would otherwise be present, allowing ED to adopt what appears to be a "we'll get to it when we get to it" approach. If we as a customer base were to stop purchasing modules in early access and waited for at least a majority feature and quality release, they would eventual need to get back to providing what the customer actually wants and not what they want to give us. There are so many other core aspects of DCS that are so far behind as well, such as basic mission editor issues that keep getting broken or dont get fixed at all. My favorite is flying my fancy new module in 4k, admiring the incredible level of detail to my aircraft, then pull up next to an AI C-17 or any other aircraft not having an updated 3-D model that absolutely looks horrendous. It is such an immersion breaker for me, especially after seeing the same model not changed for the better part of a decade or more but since it is not a revenue generator and we as customers don't address these issues with our wallets, nothing will change. That being said, I don't want to bad mouth ED, just expressing some frustration with the way things are done. I'm sure that creating any map or aircraft along with all of the other mechanics of DCS is a daunting task and I give them credit for slowly moving DCS along to where it is now.
  24. I have noticed that in this thread, nobody has mentioned mods as a culprit. For an example, a few updates ago I was getting major stuttering and fps drop. After trying everything, I went to ED discord help and Special K checked some files for me. Turns out that the OH-6 mod had a script that was now causing major issues. Removed the mod and my issues went away. Not saying that all mods can cause issues but...after alot of trial and error, alot of mods can cause issues...If you arent using mods, this may not apply to you but if you are having issues and are using mods, do yourself a favor, remove them and check for stuttering. If it solves it, put them back one by one until you find the offending mod...
  25. Any news on this bug? I have so many missions, especially larger MP server missions that are broken because of it. If you have say 30 infantry running around buildings or even DSHK trucks and you are shooting at them in an Apache, they start running/driving around. Sometimes they run/drive inside buildings and you can no longer target them with George or by using a JTAC to lase. The group alive less than trigger allows you to compensate for a few troops/trucks stuck so you can add other triggers to it like an area cleared message. Please fix this...And while we are at it, can we fix the root issue and make them not run inside buildings? I wouldnt need the group alive less than trigger and could just use group dead trigger instead...
