Did you miss when other people posted the actual options and times for the INS alignment? Hint: it's less then 8 minutes for all but one, which, in practice, won't be the most often used/needed. So there's indeed no good reason not to model them as they are IRL. I fly DCS to get as close to the real thing as possible. I don't even have nor an I interested in the FC3 planes. I get it that you enjoy quick MP fun and that's all right : you can get your quick online dogfight fun WITH the real INS settings modeled by RAZBAM. Everyone happy that way !

Well, this is a bad decision. It's not a case where data isn't available and they have to "fudge" numbers. It's not even a case where playability would really be compromised (like the Ka-50's 30 minutes alignment time) by keeping the real numbers. Offline, you can use time acceleration. Online, use ALCM or hot start. Really Razbam should reconsider. It is setting a bad precedent and carrying doubt on their willingness to provide an accurate model. This is DCS not War Thunder. :noexpression:

Yes! It would give more richness to missions. Allow better planning, for, say, setting up a waypoint dedicated to INS drift correction before going on a ground strike. More stuff to do in the simulation.
-
Same here. Especially as, in this case, the real settings can already address all the community's needs.

Now if we could have a Mirage 4000 module... I'm daydreaming again :joystick:
-
Besides for now they're Hydra placeholders.
-
This. Though it just gave me the idea of writing a HOTAS macro for calling Raygun and Buddyspike with a single button press...
-
On the matter of ECM, I believe a simple and effective solution would be taking a page from CMANO and setting up "technological generations" of hardware.
-
Well I can't buy it but congratulations on building this awesome piece of hardware !

Some honest talk about the Mirage Hear, hear ! I've been waiting for the module, I preordered it, impatiently waited to install it. Now yes, it's not a finished product. Important features need too be slotted in. I can't wait for radar antenna slewing, IFF, better modelling of missiles, all that stuff. But I'm relearning fast jet operations anyway (last I played falcon 4 was in the early 2000s). I have yet to try ground attack, ILS approach, air refueling... With the Mirage. So I have a full plate already. And most importantly, I do trust RAZBAM for performing updates and keeping us in the loop. So, no I don't regret my pre-order [emoji2]

I know, but I'm daydreaming :-)

Wouldn't it be nice if we could load more missiles on the fuselage pylons [emoji3]
-
I haven't tried refueling yet, but I'm thinking maybe using autopilot with trim commands for small adjustments ?
-
Actually there are slew controls (mapped them on my HOTAS) but I haven't tried yet if they work. I mean not the TDC but actually moving the radar search area (for finding targets at different altitudes)
-
For me, since I only flew helos and "old" planes in DCS so far, I'll have to relearn all the BVR fast jet stuff. So not having IFF will force me to build SA the old way (by setting and listening), which is good training.

Very much seconded, as well as the ipad app idea.

Mirage 2000 release date I know when the Mirage will be released: on 15th, just so as to steal the hype from Star Wars [emoji11]
-
Will do ! In time... Of course, now I want a stick extension for it... But my bank account says no more [emoji41]
-
Fat Mamba MkIII is back!!!! Indeed, it was on the French eBay, at 81€ (winning bid). Far less than similar, stick only offers. Seller says it's in mint condition. We'll see...
-
Well I preordered the Black Mamba Mk III. And a Warthog stick on eBay. Unreasonable but hey, it's almost Christmas [emoji1]
-
Income check arrived, Mirage preordered [emoji2]

Using torrent download speed was adequate (on a 1gbs fiber optic line) during the main part of the dl, but it petered out in the end. Which makes sense actually, since the updater closes after it had finished downloading... Therefore stops uploading to peers as well ! A mix of both methods would be acceptable I think !
