Left handed stick recomendation please
JDarksword replied to imk's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Must jump in here, I'm a lefty, I learned to use my right hand and have better coordination now than i ever did with my left. Its all an adaptation, if you take the time to sit down and play with your right hand for a couple of hours it stops feeling weird. -
Belsimtek is making one, not the topic of this discussion though.

Problem with that, is that I’m not going to get killed by an A-10A or Su-25 that spam fires all missiles at the first contact they get because they’re ground pounders and have no radar. The CAP aircraft do need to be balanced to the CAS aircraft as they directly affect the ability to play and have fun as a ground pounder.
-
Actually, dogfighting in the A-10 takes skill, especially with its lack of a radar and capability to only carry AIM-9Ms. You’re right about the F-18, all the slots will be full. It’s the most anticipated modern module for DCS and is also a major missile truck.

My statement about being around on OC for awhile had nothing to do with superiority, it’s only to point out that there was a time before airquaking that I personally feel was the most entertaining point of time on the server, and that this is what we want to go back to. My statement about the A-10C is because you are complaining about 5 minutes of additional start time, so I’m doing the same about my 10 minute align time. If you don’t want to wait, simply don’t align and use F10 map, I don’t see why that’s an issue when most people do this anyway.
-
First off I will start by saying that both dustoff and Bert, as well as myself, have been around since the early days of OC and remember what it used to be like when people actually played instead of air quaking. Secondly, you should quit your complaining, 8 minutes for an align is nothing, for the A-10C if I do the start by the books as is the norm for this sim it takes me ~20-30 Mins. If I cut corners I get it down to 15-20, only to take off and get shot down by an M2K, or FC3 aircraft that started and took off in 60 seconds or less and dropped 4 missiles on the first contact it found only to die, respawn and do it again.

I have access to a Prowler guy with +2K hours in the jet. PM if you want me to ask him about anything, I'll have to see if he's open to disclosing information though (obviously not classified stuff).
-
You'd be surprised, while the exact operations of displays and effectivity of ew are classified switch operation can be found or reasonably guessed.
-
In the video you can see he folds the wings while moving and that they fold at a slower speed with more constant motion.
-
I don't fully agree with this as it's possible to succeed without GCI but to fly the aircraft how they were designed proper GCI with full vector capability is necessary.
-
I'd like to chime in and say I support a bluflag style, man in the loop GCI in addition to the skynet GCI. Main reason for this is allowing proper use of the MiG-21bis. I'm sure your GCI would be adequate but having a man in the loop system allows GCI to give complicated vectors that will maneuver you around threats, etc. and vector you directly to the target as the Soviets used to do it.
-
I wouldn't consider it to be a bug, you can program the landing waypoint in, it just requires you to actually do work.
-
It'll have the AIM-120, considering the OFP and Lot we are getting supports it.
-
Use AIM-120. It's worth it.

A better solution, at least to me, is to make the Eagle pilots actually work for their gas. Station an invincible tanker behind the edge of the conflict zone for each team, Eagle pilots could pull out and hit the tanker to get gas if their running low. Either that or make the current tankers respawn faster. This gives a means for Eagle pilots to stay on station and also increases the challenge in the server, a good thing in my eyes. The other problem is that most of these Eagle drivers run around in full AB all the time, learning to pull it out of AB can save a lot of fuel.

A little O.T. but could I get that livery? It looks beautiful and would fit right in with Green Thunder.
-
I'll send it to you today if you're on TS Dust, it's back about 50 or so pages but I still have the dl link. I could also throw up a G-Drive link or something.
-
Just because the flight manual is out doesn't mean you can model the aircraft, you also need the performance manual and the 1-2 classified manuals that detail full MFD and weapons systems operation.

I am. I'm using cabled lan and still have the issue so that can't be it. Yes, same issue occurs.
-
Anyone have any ideas? Ive tried everything I can think of and still can't get DCS to connect.
-
I checked the firewall and virus protection and made sure that DCS was excluded from all.
-
Multiple times. Strange thing is that all other programs seem to have access to internet other than DCS. Im going to test a few multiplayer games to see if they work. EDIT: Other online games work, DCS is the only failed application.
-
Idk if this is the right place to put this, but after the latest Windows update my game started saying "No Internet Connection" whenever i try to log in. I already tried my AV/Firewall, renaming DCS.openbeta, and checking ports as well as portforwarding the ports that are required to be opened. I use Norton (i know, gross) and strangely the DCS Updater seems to run fine. Any help would be appreciated.

That TA-4J is in fantastic condition, good price for a totally overhauled aircraft too.

I recommend bullseye BRA calls. Irl they are used to obscure aircraft locations as the enemy won't know where the bullseye is AFAIK. I like the option to use it and know that some users use it all the time.
