  1. LOL, is the F-22 development finished yet ?
  2. It should be considered as spam and forbidden.
  3. In F-22 ADF there was that kind of snake for AA gun aiming. What a PITA. With the very high rolling rate of the Mirage, I don't expect it to be easier.
  4. Yes, however, turbulences, wind, landscape and obstacles render the process very chaotic and difficult. But if developers can make something as hard as AFM for an aircraft, they should overcome the sound issue as well. I also think about the doppler effect and sound speed. If you press F3, does the sound engine has to continuously pre-calculate the sound rendering for you to get instant result ?
  5. MiG-21s killing F-15s is just a matter of pilot skills. Technically, everybody seem to agree that the Mirage is superior. For the pilot part, see you online. I'm learning nothing from this thread.
  6. Creating a sound processing algorithm to simulate sound through atmosphere and environment would be a challenge indeed. :)
  7. I think his point is: Why spend precious time on a unit much superior than any other ones present in the game and unbalance it ? Without sufficient data btw…
  8. So I'm in pedantic trouble because I've made a caricature… Can it stop now plz ?
  9. meh Is it supposed to be a valuable contribution ? Jokes aside, if Zeus stated once for all that they made the best from all the data they could get, I don't see the point to pursue me again on that matter. I got the answers I wanted. And I thought we talked about the procedure to start up all the systems, not only the engine ??????????
  10. +1  And that precious full procedure is supposed to be classified.
  11. Man, not all fighters of that generation start so fast. And the point was that many people took infos from a document of questionable worthiness… Not to press the most buttons as possible. But if the Mirage has to be like that, so be it. ;) I love that aircraft and I want it realistic, like everyone here. But if I read somewhere that the staff working on the real stuff said that there are errors, I will naturally have doubts and not continue to blindly lick balls instead. And yes I preordered the product.
  12. I did not noticed there are two different commands. Thanks for the tip, ralt+\ is what I need.
  13. OK :D
  14. No, but I saw startup sequences videos and it's indeed one of the most simple aircrafts to start. However, in F4 BMS, the sequence is extremely complex and detailed. The F-16 got much more systems to be switched on, and much more comparable to the Mirage than a gen 1 jet fighter… I presume the ground staff keeps the aircraft in a condition to be taken off quicker than a 100% cold start. Like keeping the oil warm (I think) and the INS pre-aligned Mmmkay, maybe but I don't care about airliners.
  15. This looks like a systems state check list. There is almost no switch operation listed and I seriously doubt it requires to press on the red engine start button only like a douche's supercar
  16. Extreme refraction in the Mirage's canopy. I wonder how much the visual realism could be enhanced with such an effect in DCS.
  17. Some steps may be removed because of secrecy, but it is said on some French forums that there are some errors in the procedure compared to the real checklists.
  18. Hi all, I'm tired to always ask to myself what number/callsign I must set to each aircraft. For the russian aircrafts' bort number, I got some answers from here. But is it ok to define random numbers ? Or do they have some logic like consecutive numbering because a squadron's aircrafts were probably from the same production batch ? What were the soviet rules for callsigns ? Were they just color+bort number ? Do I just have to copy the bort number into the callsign field in the mission editor ? About the US Navy aircraft, it seems to be clearer but more complex (and funnier) according to this wikipedia article. However, according to this article the digits 8 or 9 are not to be used. Is it true? Except some exceptions (F-5E?), bort number for USAF affects the three digits on the aircraft on the right of AF/fiscal year made block. But I've not managed to find the signification yet… More information is welcome :)
  19. Hi all, I cannot spawn the radio menu while in air by pressing the regular radio key. I must click on the button at the tip of the throttle instead. Quite annoying to direct my AI wingman in dogfights… However the key works just fine during ground operations. All of this happen during the same mission play without changing any radio setting. Is it a bug ?
  20. What do mean SFM, AFM and PFM anyway ?
  21. This pilot manual contains scarce information. It's more like a quick reminder than a true educational media.
