[REPORTED]Oculus View Reset No Longer Works (Hotfix 3)
unclejacko replied to Deano87's topic in General Bugs
oculus rift center pilot key not working? Before I could re-center my pilot hitting num5. Will the latest update it doesn't seem to work on any aircraft. I tried searching for oculus in the controls menu but didn't see anything. Is there a new command for it? -
So quick question....really enjoying flying with the rift in Open Beta. So when I've been recording the footage it records what on the screen. I'd like to have it record the two-eye view so I can watch it in 3d later like other oculus rift footage. How do people do that? I currently use X-split to record footage since it lets me layer things like...but I'm open to using another application if it'll work.

Opinion: Devil's Canyon or Skylake?
unclejacko replied to Mt5_Roie's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Great info! I'll hold off a bit then. Appreciate all the opinions. -
So I understand correctly, then in order for me to use ADF set to 20 (which is actually 200 kilohertz) I need to set the frequency to 0.2 megahertz. Is that correct?
-
Doesn't FM use a different radio though? I though it used the one below the ADF. Ideally I'd like one that used ADF and one that uses FM so I can practice using both. I need it to play a certain wav file so I know I"m on the right frequency.
-
So I"m new to mission editor and trying to create a Huey mission where you have to basically rescue a downed pilot. I want the pilot to transmit on a frequency for the ADF and then pop smoke when the huey is near. I have the smoke part working right...but can't seem to get up the transmission right. I added on the pilot "set frequency" for 200 AM. I also added a "transmit message" with a wav file that is looped. But when I tune my ADF to 20 I get nothing. Any ideas? I've been trying to find tutorials on this, but not finding anything for ADF.

Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range
unclejacko replied to KEULE's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I clicked on on pre-purchase but don't see it in the shop...am I missing something? -
A couple friend of mine with the Oculus Rift started up a Facebook page for Virtual Reality pilots. The site is for DCS, FSX, and any other flight sim that can use the Oculus Rift or other virtual reality system. Were trying to get people to share their experiences....hope you guys can contribute. https://www.facebook.com/VRAviators

Is there a way to position the kneeboard on the A-10, or other aircraft where the knee of the pilot would actually be. I love this app, but I find that floating windows takes away from the realism. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Did a quick test flight with it...while it was fun, hoping dcs 1.5 makes the cockpit a little sharper:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PawaWa16kSo

Num-5 has been doing the trick. It's been very interesting flying DCS with the oculus. I'll probably make a video about it sometime. So far the Huey and the A-10C have been the best to fly. Will try to test out the other modules sometime this week.

Yep hitting num 5 did the trick. Didn't get a chance to fly, but the seating is much better. It's amazing how big these aircraft look from the oculus. Any tips on other settings like vsync, MSAA, anti aliasing? Hoping to try to get some flights in this weekend to give it a good test.

So got my oculus today and testing it out. It's a really interesting device in that it was able to fool my body quite a bit into thinking were moving. But I wanted to get some advice from those who've had it a bit to try to make the experience better: -Is there a way to adjust the pilot seat? In the A-10C it seems I'm right in the control stick way up. Makes it hard to fly so close to cockpit. The Huey was almost dead on with the position and by far the coolest so far. But if there is a way to modify the pilot position so I start correctly it would be cool. -Is there a method to make thing look a little sharper? It was very hard to read the hud numbers or any of the dials. It seems if I didn't move my head I could maybe read them, but wanted to know if you guys figure out how to view things better. Any general settings you guys could recommend both on the oculus config (which I exit before going into DCS) or in DCS itself would be greatly appreaciated.

Which Q&A? What was the answer? Seems like if Direct Mode needs DirectX 10/11 then it should work with DCS 1.5 that uses that. Hoping for a good Sept! I'm getting my DK2 on Tuesday and looking forward to testing it out. For DCS I'm hoping to go from using four monitors to one+rift. I know the CV1 is around the but I do development on apps and figured it would be great to play with. Plus my kids are going to freak at playing minecraft with the rift.

Is there an instruction for how to set up the oculus rift with DCS. The last post I saw with directions was from 2014 and I'm sure a lot has changed since then. I'm getting my rift on tuesday and am looking forward to setting it up.

So this morning I loaded up the mission again. I added a A-10C starting on the runway. I went to the ordinance and selected something there. It didn't ask me to save but took my selection. So I figured I'd create something completely new. Just added some pods and rockets. Loaded it up, selected the aircraft on the runway, and looked at DSMS - still shows red around stations weapons should be on. At this point I think I'm going to have to recreate the whole mission with the latest version of the ME. Kinda of sucks.....

I''m coming back after taking a break for a couple years. I remember there used to be a great tutorial about how to do nose art for aircraft, but can't seem to find it. I tried search for like a half hour with no luck. Ideally, I'd like to create nose art for the A-10C and maybe the side doors of the Huey. It also looks like the locations of the art has changed from when I last did it so would be good to learn about the new locations and such. Thanks.

So I recently got back into simming and I upgraded my DSC World to the latest version. I have a map I like to train on and fly so I fired it up and noticed an issue. If I do a ramp start, when I go to load the DTS after re-arming, the DSMS window shows red where the weapons should be (like I didn't load them right). If I do a hot start on the map same issue. Same thing if I do an airstart. So I assumed it's because my map wasn't saved with the latest version. I added a couple new A-10C jets to a new airbase and tested it out - same issue. Can't load the weapons on the jet. So I created a new test map and loaded a A-10C in there...and it worked fine. So is there a way for me to update my old map to work? Or do I have to re-create the whole thing. It's a pretty intense training map with lots of ranges, so re-creating it would take quite a bit of time.
