no, I know what that is, and i REALLY hope they add that, the stuff on the edges of the wings, the trails, they are much more white and pronounced

' it might just be conditions, because sometimes you get ones like this, which is kind of what I want to recreate

Relaxoxo's Afterburner Mod
FireFox500 replied to Rlaxoxo's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I cannot seem to open it in GIMP, any idea how to get it to open? -
I was wondering if someone could help me with this. In DCS the wingtip vortices are very cool dont get me wrong, but they dont look as pronounced as they do in real life. The file path is (I believe for 1.5/2.0): DCS World/Bazar/Effects/ParticleSystem2/WingtipContrail and Wingtip Contrail2 are the file names. I am guessing you would use GIMP to edit them but they are just blue and green circles. How would you edit them to be more defined like in this picture of an F-18 flight. Any help is greatly appreciated, FireFox500

Does this only work for Mirage or does it work with aircraft liek F-15 and you only showed pictures of M200C? Quick Question: How did you edit the afterburner file and which file is it? This looks really cool, maybe ill give it a shot -
No, you most definitely aren't, this seems very strange to me. I don't think it means anything but yeah, I find it rather bizarre.

Enhanced Reflection Glass
FireFox500 replied to T. Jacob's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
So it works in all aircraft but the Su-27? -
i tried that before I started this thread, I will try again to start some of these planes in a few days, I was going to try and fly A-G with a few friends but I will have to stick to the MiG-29S for that, thank you very much for trying to help, i appreciate it a lot. One day it will be resolved, until then i get some much needed Fulcrum and Eagle practice! Thanks, FireFox500

downloading a free trial of Photoshop could also work if you dont need it often, you get 30 days on a trial and CS5 CS6 and CC are all very very good, but if you want it for good and dont need all the advanced tools take a look at Photoshop Elements 14. -
The A-10A still wont start, Su-27 I haven't tried, but F-15 and MiG-29S still work. With the Su-25T i would step the throttle all the way back and then start again and again but still only 13%
-
i did step my throttle back to idle and it starts!! But (on Su-25T) will not go past 12-13% RPM even at full power

I have had DCS for about a year and it has happened before but magically went away in 1.2.6 but now it's back. I own FC3 and currently the only aircraft I can get to start in both single and multiplayer is the F-15C and MiG-29S (haven't tried other versions). I have all my keys mapped correctly but they simply wont start. In the Su-25T I will spam my start buttons and the lights to indicate your engines ignited and are starting will flash very quickly but won't stay lit. Has anybody else had this issue? I turn on ground power and electronics before each flight, but still nothing in; A-10A, Su-27, and Su-25T, I have not tried the others as i rarely fly them (besides F-15 and MiG because they actually start). My friend can fly his Su-27 and Su-25T perfectly fine, started and everything, but mine for some reason will not start. Any help is greatly appreciated, FireFox500

ground texture mod high mountains all season
FireFox500 replied to snowsniper's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
It says to use with the stock texture, would using it with Barthek's textures be a bad thing or will it just look a little abnormal? -
So glad to see you got a team together Brian! Cant wait for this, if this goes through this will pave the way for an awesome new teamwork style with multiple people in one aircraft. I hope an AI is created to run the other stations if running this in single player with only 1 pilot. Even without an AI getting a group of 4 together to play this would be awesome, especially with fighter escort! Cant wait, I will buy this for sure when it comes out!

Yeah, it will definitely not go obsolete overnight, it will be relevant for a little while, I took Linus Tech Tips advice, buy the best card you can afford now and it will stay relevant longer than a lower end card in a few years. When some big technology comes out the 980 (like all other pieces of hardware) will need an upgrade Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Fair enough, it is pretty pricey Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

I recently bought an MSI 980, I'm running triple 1080 at 30-40 fps depending where I am, DEFINITELY recommend this card to anyone. BUT Pascal is soon arriving and will be better than the current gen cards, but if you cant wait (like I couldn't) then grab a 980 or somethign along the lines of that. I realize a 980 is $500 USD and that is very pricey, my 5760x1080 does not have as many pixels as a 3440x1440 display so it could run 3440x1440 at higher fps and I am guessing a 970 would still do well. But like everybody else says, wait for Pascal GPUs as they can only be better, or wait to get a price drop on 900 series cards like the 980 or 970.

I recently purchased a GTX 980 from MSI and aside from looking stunning it is an absolute beast of a card. If you have the money and want to fly DCS on 3 screens (or just 1) this has got you covered. I play triple 1920x1080 monitors with setting on high-ultra (tree and clutter is turned to about half tho) at around 30-40 fps depending on where I am. I have not tested this card on any games in triple surround other than DCS and X-Plane 10. TIPS: I have an XPS 8700 from Dell with an i7 4790, 1TB HDD, (now) GTX 980, and 32Gb of RAM (upgraded), this computer was not meant to take huge cards like the 980. MAKE SURE TO MEASURE YOUR CARD, I measured mine and I still had to cut part of my case innards to make it fit, make a mock up of the card of out of cardboard it if you have to, but MAKE SURE it fits otherwise you will be in for a world of extra setup time and less time to try out your shiny new GPU. Make sure (if you care about aesthetics) that you have ample room for cable management, I have my 2 8pin power connectors smashed against my side panel because my case is rather small and it has no side glass so you cannot see the absolute **** fest of cables inside:music_whistling: UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: My computers BIOS was out of date by several years (1 BIOS update), the card was very finicky and would not display a picture unless taken out, booted, shut down, put GPU back in and booted. The BIOS update fixed this. I removed the NVIDIA drivers and reinstalled them as I thought maybe that was the issue with it not giving a picture. That may have helped and it might not have, so if you are having issues it may be a driver thing (however I highly doubt it) So, if you are asking yourself should i buy a 980, the answer is; if you have the money, YES! It is a great card and will preform very well even at massive 5760x1080 like I run, I realize that Pascal is soon to arrive so I would honestly go for one of those as it can only be better. Also, if you are considering 3 monitors, I love my 2 Samsung S24D390s and single Samsung S23B550, they aren't new but they are awesome and look great while gaming. They are AMAZING for productivity, I can have a movie on one screen, Photoshop on the next and google on the next. I personally wish to upgrade to dual 34 inch Lg 34UC88-Bs only because of the higher resolution, thin bezel, and awesome screensplit software, plus it gets rid of a lot of wires. I don'd do much besides game so I could live with just on monitor but just being able to free up a monitor and do something else is super helpful. Hope this helps, FireFox500

FireFox500 replied to tiborrr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What settings were used for the 4K GPU architecture tests? 70 FPS + seems very high for 4K and I'm not sure what had to be turned down (if any) to attain that high of a frame rate.
