  1. Yes, it looks more fluid around 120fps, but that is not why I am complaining. I have no problem in running 60hz instead of 120, the problem is that at least on my monitor 60hz looks really bad (doesn't look like "real" 60hz -Blurry,Strobbing effect). Plugged in my TV @60hz and the problem disappeared, but it gave me a really bad latency.. I have been trying to fix this problem for a really long time, tested everything from Drivers to different TrackIR unit, reinstalled windows etc etc. What I have found is: Locking FPS to 60 or 120 removes the Tick-Tock motion from TrackIR, but in my case using 60 introduces this other image artefacts.
  2. I have the same issue, driving me nuts.. my rig: 8700k, TrackIR 5, Asus PG279Q g-sync, GTX 1080, 32gb DDR4 ram. I have tried using my friends TrackIR5 without any luck... V-sync ON/OFF, G-sync ON/OFF doesn't make any difference... Locking to 60FPS gets rid of the Tick-Tock motion, but intruduces a blur effect on my screen.. Works perfect on 120FPS and up, but it is really hard to keep DCS in that range.
  3. I find these sync issues to be the biggest problem in mp. Issues ranging from not seeing other players gear deployed to seeing someone else flying in a big fireball, when on their screens everythings fine.. This is must fix issues regarding MP experience

  5. Hi guys! Are you still considering adding more powerful/realistic external sound? I think soundFX is a pretty important part of dcs aircraft as you often can get a sense of power and thrust. While the internal sounds are great, I feel the lack of power whenever I see viggen flyby or engaging thrust reversal.
  6. The damage model of the Eagle seems broken atm. Even compared to another slightly damaged airframe the Eagle will suffer way more damage in a mid air collision.. Recorded in 2.0 alpha mp with no AI aircraft.
  7. Wow! Nice video! When normandy and nttr merges in 2.1 version, is there someone who knows if nttr will have this lightning/pbr/water effect after normandy release?
  8. This is my biggest concern with assets pack’s. I see a future where the name of servers is gonna look like this:
 — Air Combat: F/A-18c + Nimitz Pack + Pack 3 — — Air Combat: SU-33 + Kuznetsov Pack + Pack 2 — For me this would lead to servers with players who are interested in the same stuff, where there will be a server with ”Carrier Pack” there will be people interested in Tomcat/Hornet. But what about all other people flying MIG-29,F-15C etc? Are they gonna buy packs they have no interests in just to fly against a Tomcat/Hornet in multiplayer? I think the diversity of aircrafts in the air will go down significantly in the future, there is gonna be hornet fighting hornets etc because they are interested in the same Assets packs. This goes for all future packs be it Cold War, Vietnam etc. Im really looking forward to carriers and more modern fighters, but that doesn’t mean from time to time I like to hop in a WWII aircraft and fly.. But let’s say the servers has slowly begun to upgrade with 2-4 packs of WWII material, would I buy them just to play once in a while? Im sorry but no. And thats why I think this is bad for the MP side of the sim.. __________________________
 This Is only a concern for the future, with made up packs they have said nothing about.
  9. Ok, well is the "new" FPS indicator always red, or does it turn red when something is wrong? Going from Open Beta to Stable and back again to see if it fixes the problem
  10. Hi, recently after a computer restart my DCS performance has degraded significantly, one thing I noticed ingame was the built in FPS indicator has turned red instead of yellow... Any ideas? Repaired DCS without any luck. i7 4790k, GTX 1080, 16gb ram, ssd
  11. Don't know if this has been asked before, but if i input coordinates to make a waypoint is there anyway to tell the QFE? Like updating the kneeboard or something..
  12. Thanks guys! I know I would see an update tomorrow if Im in the right branch... But for now my autoupdate.cfg says "Release", Uboats mentioned it should read "open beta". Sorry for being troublesome, just don't want any bad hiccups tomorrow =)
  13. you are probably right, just want to be prepared to download viggen tomorrow not having any issues with DCS branches at the last minute :)
  14. Having a little issue trying to get release version to open beta, tried using Skate´s GUI and also CMD. It run's the updater as usual but I'm still in "release" when i open autoupdate.cfg. Right know I'm in stable "1.5.5.60565.216" and as Open Beta is also in "1.5.5.60565.216" I'm guessing that the updater believes I'm running the latest version and therefor won't update.
  15. I updated to Open Beta using Skate's GUI updater as I have done before, but now I don't know if im still in Release Version or Open Beta because they have the same version number.. =/

  17. A question regarding the release on friday, you mentioned earlier that you have created new external sound but that it had to be implemented by ED.... Is this something we can expect upon release? And thank you so much for creating one of my favorite aircrafts, it's awesome to see number 7 on the bare metal skin as I live just outside Såtenäs (Lidköping).

  21. Hi guys! Just got the CV1 yesterday. Im having what seems to be a problem with the lenses. If I look straight trough them it's like a big smudge, but when i look trough them at the most upper part of the lense/or sometimes really low its really clear and sharp, like looking at a normal monitor (not able to wear the rift at this position). Seems like it has degraded since yesterday, not even possible for me to read the text in F-5 (Load/Lock - No Film) witch is located under the HUD, and even a fairly big text. Tried Running pixel density at 1.5 and 2.0, even in the oculus debugger.. I know about godrays etc, but this looks just like smudge. i7 4790k, Gtx 980, SSD. Settings both textures to High, rest to low or off.
  22. yes the simulated iris is the cause for the ground to look so dark, it is a really nice effect but causes some problems in certain areas like making aircrafts look like black silhuettes, when in the real world it is plenty of light to make out the color (unless your pointing your pupils at the sun). But as soon as the ingame camera is pointing in the sun's direction it is causing this, for me it would be perfect to simulate this effect if only let's say the center of your monitor meet's the sun.. (maybe they have done that?) =) Reason for all this writing (first time on forum) is that in the version we have now it is hard to get the feel of a proper warm summer day, feels like it somewhat toned down, when in real life colors in nature are really vivid.. Anyhow just trying to make this beatiful sim the best ever by saying what i feel =) CANT WAIT FOR SEPTEMBER!
  23. yes of course the camera is a massive factor, maybe i have been watching to many movies that plays out in the sunset =) But the second thing i dont understand at all, why would the ground (tarmac??) be dark when the sun is shining directly at it? Instead of something like this

Was thinking about that, I have no idea how it looks in real life (not from US) but for me i always thought the rocks where golden/red in color, it may very well have the look of "dirty green" as seen in this screenshot, but i can imagine the green look if it is very cloudy.. But one thing that i notice is that sometimes the image looks really dark in both videos and screenshots, I know its WIP and I'm confident it will be great when released =)
