Paradise Lost Campaign - Overweight or wrong engine managament?
Smartis replied to Smartis's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Thanks Yea, Had some luck using translational lift, though just skimming the trees. Nice take-off you did. I flamed out my engine on the LZ hover, dropping off troops. Guess I should work on my translational lift takeoff to lessen the engine stress in the transition phase TO->Flight->LDG -
Paradise Lost Campaign - Overweight or wrong engine managament?
Smartis posted a topic in DCS: UH-1H
So, I just started out on the Paradise Lost Campaign. and boy is it awesome. Though, I am having quite some problems, played throught first mission and started on second. But I keep finding myself out of power, either to *barely* takeoff land, or keep up with the AI flight. My throttle is at max, and the exhaust temperatues is but a hair from the redline. I am by no means a great helicopter pilot, so wondering if I'm missing something key here, or if I'm overweight and need to just deal with it. Regards. -
correct as is [NO BUG] AGM-88 fired when jettisoned
Smartis replied to Arink429's topic in Bugs and Problems
When selective jettisoning HARMs, their rocket motor engages and flies off to the nether.. Pressing "Emergency jettison", and they fall off as expected. Tested on newest open beta build 2.7.7.14727, in Caucasus, Marianas and Persian Gulf.. All with same results. Harms_Jettison.trk -

So, I've found this very nice collection of Aerodome charts https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3312200/ And wanting to add these to their respective terrain, I've come into problems with Syria. The was no Kneeboard folder in "DCS World\mods\Terrain\Syria", so added one myself, but to no avail. This did work for Nevada Terrain though. Also tried to add a "Syria" folder in "Saved Games\DCS\Kneeboard" but again, to no avail. Is there any other clever way to add this to Syria map only? /Smartis

So, I've been going through some trouble with DCS-BIOS not connecting to DCS World as well. Even tried backlogging through older versions to no avail. I did though find a solution. It seems DCS-BIOS doesn't pickup on the dcs.openbeta folder structure, and only sees release version folders. So to fix this. Install the Release version from DCS website (Don't downgrade through the updater) and then afterwards update to openbeta if that's your jam (But who am I kidding, who even use release ;) (JK)) This methods maintains the release version folder structure while running an openbeta build. Hope this works out for others as well.

So, here's my entry for the contest. A fictional skin for the Danish airforce, based around the 70-80's. Made two variantso, one standard, and one with some tailart.

Thanks! Just what I was looking for ;)

So, tried making a skin with the default template for F-5E, but after tinkering around with it, I seem to get weird blocky textures instead of the numbers at the nose. Can't really figure out why, so hope you people have a good idea. ;)

Try either #B62626 or #C52419 ?

Primarily I employ the A-10C, recently started on M-2000C, which I find very addicting. Other than that I occasionally try to get better at the Huey and once in a while I take the MiG-21 for a spin. The rest; KA-50, L-39, F-86F, FW-190, P-51D, Hawk and F-15 I rarely fly, but once I do it's usually a week at a time.

So, just got through the first of missions, and while taxiing I came across this amazing parking job by a fellow eagle :pilotfly: One would almost think that is a harrier..
