  1. i had that issue the other day. didnt get take off clearance....no response
  2. hahaha, i'm moving too much at work. i dont have a desk job.
  3. whenever i get into bed, i read the flight manual. the problem is, it puts me to sleep........ everytime, anytime, like clock work....you guys suffer from the same thing?
  4. yep, so true
  5. if i'm not mistaken, every time you hit tms right it should create mark point a, b, c, d, etc etc.......and on the CDU you need to switch to markpoint to cycle through them using the DMS up/ down command. i could be wrong about that.....
  6. the thing that pisses me off is i scribbled most of that paperwork into notes......then i found out i couldve just printed them out after you gave me that link.
  7. and thanks shagrat for the link. i ended up printing out about 4 of those documents for future reference.
  8. ya i meant turn steerpoint into SPI. i just typed the words backwards.
  9. haha, thanks....where were you when i first started this thread? i did lots of online searching and never found that.
  10. just for future refernece if anyone needs it. great charts in the manual showing what each joystick button does for each SOI. for the flight stick (DMS, TMS, CMS, NWS, & master mode button) pages 88-89, for the throttle buttons (boat switch, coolie, mic switch, pinkie switch, china hat) pages 91-92. seeing what the pinkie switch does....makes me wish i had a TM warthog
  11. i usually deploy flaps when i need to trim. as the nose starts to fall due to deceleration, i'll lower flaps halfway so i wont need to trim. then as i slow more and the need to trim becomes greater, i extend full flaps. i am not sure if this is the technically correct way to do this, but i find it easier.
  12. ya the speed/angle & throttle/altitude relationship seems backwards. i remember this from playing lo-mac years ago. when i started playing A-10C, landing came natural quickly because i already have had that landing experience. like riding a bike
  13. right, but they are cool so i want to try them out
  14. awesome, thank you for the link
  15. i have been playing this game non-stop for the last three days. my skills have definitely improved and i am loving it. i'm killing the instant action easy missions. i'm struggling with a few odds and ends here and there. but over all its going great. one question.....i notice i send requests to my wingman to kill targets at my SPI. how does he receive this information? how would i receive this in formation from someone else? all i really feel like i need to practice is air refuel and buddy lasing. i'm sure there is a bunch i can learn about mark points....TAD....navigating....the CDU.......but i'll put those on hold till i get everything else dialed in. send me any pointers or knowledge you guys have. thanks a ton
  16. yep. when i hit the keypad enter 'normal zoom' button it returns to default view....where it should be.
  17. i followed this and it fixed what was going on. http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Snap_views follow directions for 'Customising the Default View' maybe that fixed the zoom issue i was having as well. not sure yet, i'll test it and report
  18. anyone?
  19. thats the one sorry for the confusion man, its bugging me that you cant get it to work
  20. i know its old, thanks peter. much better.
  21. some how i really screwed up my default zoom. when the game starts my face is against the UFC. i have to zoom way out to see the cockpit. this all started when i hit the numpad enter key which is mapped to the "normal zoom" option can i change this "default" zoom somehow? i've tried and tried to fix it to no avail. every thread i have found is either really old or doesnt work.
  22. try uninstalling everything. i have been reading stuff how people were installing 1.60 over 1.5 and face track would stop working. you also need to do this when you uninstall everything: That's strange. Did you install an older version, before v160? You must go to Control Panel/programs and features and remove the 'Intel IPP Runtime' software. Then you must re-install v160 again (that should install the IPP again, with a different parameter). try uninstalling then reinstall v1.60 be sure to restart the comp before re-installing
  23. did you remove the first version you installed before installing the 1.60 version?
  24. thanks for the suggestions. i find myself just coming in hot if i happen to be approaching the runway straight on. if i come in from the side i use viper's technique. all in all.........i'm just doing whatever needs doing
  25. you could try downloading the 32 bit version of the a10c.ini file......try that?
