Between this, Bunyap tutorials and other kind souls out there I've got a good shot. Watching it now actually, very cool. Just a question, you mentioned in the beginning re:waypoints, using the MK key on the UFC to designate waypoints, does TMS right short acheive the same result or is it better to use your UFC and also was wondering how to designate a MP as a WP with TDC when it's so far ahead of you? Maybe I should shut up and keep watching :)

MAVs I wait for the Expanded Break Lock Crosshair then I manually slew the center of the cross over the target and then that changes to Crosshairs that fill the TGP, I think they call it collapsed or something. Then I can launch but sometimes the missile just hits the ground and I think it's cause I don't AFT my TMS before I slew over my target. My head hurts. I get better success rate with that method than the Wagon Wheel.

MAV's Yes thanks, I realise that , the problem is usually the Wagon Wheel locking on the SPI, so now I'm more often than not using the FC Track but that's also not given either.

Wow! Thanks man, appreciate that. Hey just a few mins ago had some success in # 9 of Stone Shield. I got MAV to work in force correlate mode, with Boat Switch in the middle I think I was forgetting to short AFT TMS before manually slewing onto target to ground stabilise. I was going short FWD TMS then trying to slew onto target. Anyway it worked, although I got a SAM up my clacker but I didn't care as long I find a way that works as that Wagon Wheel thing just seems to fly all over the place no matter how many times I China Hat FWD long. And I will check those links you left, thank you very much.

Thanks kindly and no worries with the Acronyms, all good. Yes I'm making the MAV SOI and I always TMS up short command. Maybe I'm missing the CCIP? but I think that's the default setting anyway? I'll dble check. As I mentioned in my prev post I've had some success with the manual slewing of the MAV onto target but this only seems to work when a certain setting of my Boat Switch is selected (aft, centre or fwd, I can't recall now) . Anyway, thank you for that suggestion, I appreciate it.

Apologies to all for my last post, that was shear frustration talking. I do everything I can by the book and more to make my MAVs work correctly. I climb to around 8000 and come back in with plenty of time for a SPI Target that is slaved to receive a good lock. TGP no dramas there, get a nice lock but then when I switch to my MAV targeting pod, it locks and I'm getting closer and closer but the cross hairs don't flash. It's so frustrating, especially when the window of opportunity is very slim and by then SAMs have gone crazy and I'm ducking and diving. I'm actually having greater success with my CBUs in a CCRP. The Maverick missile is easier to use when I manually lock it onto a target but even then most times it seems to miss the target. I'm very disparaged and quite bewildered with this weapon and it's a shame cause they are an awesome munition and my favourite, although the CBU is amazing. I've been checking out the "On The Range" uTube clips and that guy is really really cool and so helpful but yet to find one on MAVs he's done. Maybe I'm doing something wrong I'm not aware of, I don't know. Again, sorry for venting my angst. Oh well, still fun and slowly progressing through the Campaign. :)

Hey good pilots, has anyone seen or knows what "GGGGGGGGGGG.. GURDA" means? This message has come up in mission 7 of Stone Shield Campaign accompanied with a sound that's similar to the mission fail sound and I'm not sure what it all means, no mission failure mesg is given tho. Any ideas anyone?

Ahh of course yes, I've changed that to ILS a few times but found I have to zoom out too far to use the HSI.

Sometimes my EAC light on the Caution Light Panel is lit even when the switch behind my throttle in the cockpit and on my HOTAS throttle is in the ARM position yet the light still stays on, sometimes I can extinguish it by flicking the switch to off then back to ARM again and at times my Auto Pilot doesn't work and I was wondering if both are linked?

Hey all, anyone recall mission 7 Stone Shield "Suppression", two pesky Rotors, some Sams and a long Tank and Artillery convoy. Man I been stuck on this for days now, done it 20 x. And there's no option to radio your wingman a request to help with the Helos, only Artillery and Sams which I thought was a bit weird. I've managed a few times to take out the Helos but it seems you have to destroy all the of what's in the column and also sometimes there's this weird thing that happens.. a sound as if you fail the mission but it doesn't say that it says only a mesg saying "G.....URRRRRRRRRR" I think that's right, like what the hell?! I dunno. Any tips, much appreciated, actually no! will pay money.. desperate here

Yea, that's what I've been doing with this one. This manual is really good I reckon cause it relates specifically to keyboard and HOTAS functions and explains the tech stuff in a way that's understandable for newbys and the average Simmer. I think Falcon 4.0 was too techy, well back in 98 I guess it seemed that way. The whole DCS program and support base here is excellent.

..but yea your right, that would be a bit drastic and only as a last resort.

Driver? Who said it was a Driver issue? And I've done many reformats, it gets your PC back to a "out of the box" state, anyway whatever, not here to argue with anyone

Hey there, I use a "55 inch Samsung 4K TV using high speed HDMI cabling, Win 10, MSi Dominator Pro LT Nvidia 8GB 980M DDR both my MFCDs work fine. Check your GPU for latest drivers or do a Win reinstall or a reformat is always good for a nice fresh start :)

Falcon 4.0 Ah yes your right was Falcon 4.0, man that was ages ago and I remember it came in this three inch thick blue ring binder manual with a CD. I thought that was the best thing. I mean it was like 1998. Problem was you needed a seven thousand dollar computer to run it smoothly, for it's time the graphics engine was amazing and prob still comparable today. I saw it on Steam for around $10US recently so I bought it for nostalgia sake but couldn't get off first base with it, refund the next day but it was a beautiful thing back in the day.

Oh cool, I used to love doing that in Falcon 4.1 way back in the day ;o)
