  1. I'm not sure if its been posted here before, but I'm wondering if anyone could elaborate further on the various classifications listed within the HAD page. I learned that you are able to make the HTS update faster by telling the HTS to "look" for specific radar signatures, but I have no idea what Class 1 through 11 means nor have I ran into an information that would tell me what each one entails.
  2. To be honest my guy, how I first started was honestly just simple. Just fly. Don't focus much on the systems of the aircraft just get the feel of it. Start with learning how to start the aircraft up, you don't have to know what they stand for, just understand that flipping this switch will turn on this—etc. After being fairly confident in starting it up without looking up a checklist or tutorial, you can focus on other systems. Start with the small and easy stuff and work your way up after understanding it well enough—just enough to know that this does that. Everything will come in place. It's one big jigsaw puzzle and every module is a puzzle. Understand the basics, build upon it, master it. Then you can work on the weapon systems and navigations. Just as many individuals have stated here, use resources like guides and youtube videos, but don't rely on them too much. That's information overload. Just understand their purpose and how to operate it on a basic level. After understanding how it works/to turn on then you can look at the resources in front of you to get a more advanced knowledge of it. (Example: RWR and symbologies). But everyone is different. I started out with the F-15C (FC) module and I didn't understand what anything meant. All I knew was that pulling on the stick meant I go up. Then A10A to A10C. Always treat each bird differently and try not to compare, but soon you'll see a lot of similarities and pick up on them quite easily. And lastly: Have fun. That's really all there is to it. Just enjoy the module. And all the stress included in it. Like you A10C. Ya damn big bird.
  3. So I recently got the Rift, well more like recently been using Rift for DCS, and I am encountering the difficulty of seeing targets. With desktop (non-vr) I'm able to spot targets at minimum 10 nautical miles easily. With VR that visual acquisition drastically drops to 2 nautical miles MAX. 0.5 nautical miles when viewing for planes in the weeds. I've tried doing the options people have been suggesting (SUPERSAMPLING - INCREASE MSAA/AA - WIDEN YOUR EYES - etc). Never got it to work or I'm not understanding how to get it to work. I have a GTX 1060 6gb. I've tried the DSR option, but I didn't notice any difference or didn't understand how it worked. Probably did it wrong. But anyways to my knowledge, I somewhat improved the visuals of the game with a minimal percentage of dankness, but still suffer in easily acquiring targets (Via ingame options). I know about the screen door - I mean, I can see it. But that itself isn't a problem. I'm wondering how you VR simmers are seeing anything let alone engaging anything past 2 nautical miles. I messed around with Pixel Density (Currently mine is 1.5). But that didn't really improve anything. I was reading comments like a gullible child reading advertisements of VR peeps seeing things 8 nautical miles out with these settings. Never worked. Or probably did it wrong. (To also note I got a pretty decent PC setup. Lag and all of that sort is not affecting my visual Asian eyes capabilities. i7 7700, 16gb Ram. No FPS loss either just really having trouble spotting things.) Tips?
  4. The problem for me was that the Key Binding listed was not working. I suggest re-binding the key for Sensor Select Down to some other key. Then it should work. I had the same problem but was fixed when I just simply used a different key press.
  5. One has to be reminded that you are against an AI. One of which who is capable of making instantaneous corrections and keep flying. (And considering the horrendous flight models). However, up against another player. You would be able to down them most of the time.
  6. That's what I thought. Or a modder will just take the F-18C cockpit and create a Superhornet model lmao.
  7. I'm not sure if it is already implemented, but that's the highest on my wishlist, the ability to buddy refuel. The implementation of it would, in my opinion, enhance the gameplay and everything aspect of missions. From Training to Combat Missions. And it would be enjoyable to troll your friends. The reasons are almost limitless. And immediately stop having those stupid AI's reeling those fueling lines back in after it takes 20 minutes to stabilize and catch the basket. (For newer players who aren't used to A/A refueling). Or sudden banks without warning. Or PRE-CONTACT x 20 times. You get the gist. Another example of why it should be in is for those aircrafts who don't have the distance to travel without carrying bags, hampering their combat ability for the mission. (I.E.: Harriers carrying a lot of bombs and don't have enough fuel to make it back home.) And we're getting a lot of Naval Aircrafts making their debut, as well as aircrafts who have fueling probes. EDIT: Nevermind. I assumed that the F-18C/D variant were capable to Buddy Refuel. I looked it up to make sure and just found out only the Super Hornets were capable of that feat. Bummer. Still on the wishlist though. Emphasis on the Wish.
  8. Forgot the displeased headshake after landing around 2:50 lmao.
  9. I'll leave this here. Taken from the Pocketbook Page 39. EDIT: And if I haven't said my praise to the module - it's dank. Having a blast.
  10. Swag. I'm actually quite relieved it is User Error.. I've revised my techniques and have successfully landed and taken off more than twice with little problems. I suspected it was because of the throttle at 100% (A-10C Habit). It's much MUCH better knowing that little information. I suggest a little warning on the pocketbook in big bold red letters: PROLONGED MAX THROTTLE WILL DAMAGE YOUR ENGINE AND YOU WILL DIE. HORRIBLY. lmao
  11. I wish I COULD increase my maximum throttle past 100%. If I increase it further I'd fear I'd break my precious throttle. But as far as I have read through all these posts - I have come to a conclusion that the DECU switch is not performing its intended function? Regardless, my second problem still remains that even if the Engine Life is in whatever state, doing a GROUND REPAIR won't fix it to its normal state. I'll perform more extensive tests considering one of the individuals here manage to fly and land more than SIX times. Impressive. That seems like a far fetch goal for me. The highest was Three for me lmfao.
  12. So far, it seems like the longer you're flying. The higher chance you'll struggle with landing lmao. The engine begins to die at a slow rate once it starts up it seems like. That's the main issue is what I'm getting at. Not sure if this is how it is. I mean, I'm fine if it is how it is in the real bird but even repairing won't "fix" the engine back to its normal state. The state where Temps are at a standard 700-765 range and never higher (as long as nozzles remain 0-15 degrees that is).
  13. I have found that selecting the SIDEARM on the RWR Page (I usually prefer the DMT page) I have been able to fire the missile 100% of the time. Though the procedure for selecting and firing the missile is the same, it's just that you have to make sure GUN is not present, but only SA. Selecting the Sidearm via Stores Page you will notice that GUN would still be present on the RWR/DMT Page (Top Right OSB). Clicking that would switch from GUN to SA and allow you to fire the Sidearm instead of the Gun itself. Note how I have SA selected via stores, but on the MPCD on the right has GUN on the top right of the screen.
