Logbook not working & Hung CBU's Question pls.
Phantom_Mark replied to Phantom_Mark's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Custom trg mission made by me with modified load out setup from within editor. Targeting set to AG and set as the soi just like I would point the pod for LGB's (which I always hit with) Weapons profile is default and only a single 105 on the inboard station. I will try the Man Release tip tomorrow thanks. -
Logbook not working & Hung CBU's Question pls.
Phantom_Mark replied to Phantom_Mark's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
That's the problem, I am holding it for at least 5 seconds minimum, as soon as I release the button it has hung, I will try again tomorrow however, is the 105 a retarded fall unit, maybe it's simply because I am expecting release earlier ?? -
Great tips thanks guys.

V1.07 (holding out on 1.08 until I see more feedback) Logbook does not seem to be recording my pilots activities for some reason, a known problem ?? Having some problems with CBU's hanging, in ccrp mode and releasing in exactly the same manner I loose my GBU12's, I just don't seem to be able to let one go without hanging, the other CBU's which support ccip drop just fine no problem, forget the models ?? 87's Any advice ? I'm sure I have had these drop ok before ?? Tia S!

Ace thanks. After poking around a bit I also discovered the comms hat pushes in as well, guess I need to read a little lol, no doubt the damned thing would feed me coffee if I read the manuals properly right :)p

Excellent thanks guys, all up and running with the cms stuff properly now thanks :) Re: Cms push, you mean it pushes down as well as aft/fwd/left/right ?? Tia.

I started out with a few hours flight time back on version 1.05? Using my old msff2 and a x45 throttle quadrant, then I saw the Warthog Hotas and fell in love, spent a couple of months talking myself into the purchase, took the plunge and also got a pair of mfd's at the same time (not hooked those up yet tho), before I bought that I was really struggling to understand all the terminology and what controls were important to have mapped to my setup, thus beyond flying and dumb bombs and guns had no success with the mavericks and lgb's etc, once I got the proper hardware and learnt exactly what those buttons do properly it's all just fallen into place to be honest. Can anyone suggest good guides for my above remaining tasks? Are the ingame training sorties ok for that ?? If I had one tiny moan it would be the canned damage skins, hell, even B17 ff had real time bullet holes and other damage based on the hits you took using a simple opacity layer on the skin, worked great all those years back !! Off to take another flight now before bed, btw, my decoys switch does not seem to be releasing flares, chaff only (fwd), left and right change profile I get that, moving rear seems to do nothing at all ?? I have flares in my load out ?

Well after buying myself the warthog hotas and about 10 hours worth of self learning trial by error I completed my first weapons delivery test scenario, dropping lgb's and cbu's and firing mavericks at bridges, armour, aa and some troops, all with a kill in a tame live fire environment :) God damn this sim is awesome, not even missing the ffb by changing from my msff2. I can do basic nav and weopons now, the flying part os peezy any way so landing and take off no biggie from the start, in fact the SU25 felt more fickle in lomac tbh, wish I could merge those two into one sim as I loved flying the frog. I spent lots more time with ka50 and never felt this comfortable so quickly, and I still fly that like crap tbh, user error for sure eh !! The feeling of satisfaction went of the scale once I cracked my test mission, really need to grasp nav, flight systems fully now, I had a wing fire the other day with no idea how to cut fuel to that tank and transfer it (if possible), that stuff can all come in time and practice now I have learnt the meat and potatoes of this sim !! Tactics, weapon deployment envelopes., missile evasion all high on my next hit list. Man this rocks, did I say that already ?? :)

Well at least I never missed something obvious then lol. Already pretty comfortable with 82/84's of different variants, including deployment options etc, wanna get started with smart bombs next which seems the next logical choice but no clue where to start ATM Thanks again.

Had a good look in the manual and a general poke around the forum but I have failed to find detailed info on the weapon specs, stuff like ranges, min/max/opt release heights, speeds etc etc etc. Seems like the ingame reference is a missed chance to store this vital info. Getting better at not peppering my aircraft with shrapnel from mk82/84's but it would be nice to save myself all the trial and error and do it properly from the start, well aware of the HUD symbology for blast height but still seem to trip up on occasion. Headtracker interface cancelled???
Phantom_Mark replied to the_soupdragon's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
TrackIR is a quality product and still relatively cheap, I can see why they dont want free track coming along and trying to steal their ideas -
Recommended training before Black Shark arrives?
Phantom_Mark replied to McVittees's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
LMAO, thats insane :D -
Recommended training before Black Shark arrives?
Phantom_Mark replied to McVittees's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
My eyes so far have been on perma stalks whilst flying BS, no other sim has done that, my concentration levels are in the roof, and I still screw up lots lol.....hovering has to be the most difficult and intense thing ive ever tried to do in a sim. -
Questions about buttons and stuff!
Phantom_Mark replied to drummer's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
LMAO That sounds familiar............ Im hoping to get to grips with all these damned auto pilot features and where and when each is applicable, so bloody annoying for me atm when I mess up some targeting to have my chopper auto turning towards an invalid target and me fighting the damned rudder all the time to move away lol, off to read the key guide again, bash some buttons, watch some vids...........damn this is gonna be so satisfying when I can jump in and do the shizzle second nature, I had exactly the same pleasure from cracking all the SU25T systems :D, and of course Falcon4, thats the fun of it tho - right ? -
My Nipple just fell off ???
Phantom_Mark replied to Phantom_Mark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
:D Best I could come up with to make something so boring sound more interesting ;) Its still working atm, but I can see the need to upgrade, considering a helo dedicated setup but maybe something I can still use with the old SU25T..........thats the sticky bit atm. -
Gawd dangit, my end of my rubber nipple just fell off my X45 throttle quad mouse stick thinmy, guess its a good excuse to look into something else in the future to play BS with :) Any recommendations ?? Im using my trusty MSFF2 stick as the flight stick atm and the X45 throttle quadrant, my X45 stick is pulled apart and using the switches in a switch panel etc...........I fully intend on still flying the SU25T because I still think that rocks dong...really enjoy flying that old girl :)

Questions about buttons and stuff!
Phantom_Mark replied to drummer's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Thankyou, I have now fired my first rockets and guided munitions :) Still trying to get my head around the targeting system so im more fluent in use, but its coming, nice to be finaly able to shoot something other than the cannon :D If I could just learn to bloody hover properly I could sit and practice aiming at stuff, making a right pigs ear of it atm even tho iv'e got to grips with landing and takeoff now :) -
I seriously hope to see a decent Harrier flight model one day :)
-
Sounds stupid maybe but the biggest let down for me is the trees are not solid meaning you can fly straight through them, the whole point of masking becomes pointless and skill'less to me at least, apart from that im really enjoying myself even if im flying it like a drunk staggering his way back from the pub :) I knew about the trees situation long ago btw...........still dont like it tho :D
-
Hopefully you can teach them the difference between a Warrior APC and rocket launchers then eh :), or just the Nato Orange "dont shoot im friendly" markings will suffice if thats too complicated :D
-
Great work, well done :)

I posted this in another thread already, but I think its worth repeating here as its probably the more suitable place for my comments :D ===================== Well my story so far is as follows :D Instant action...... First thing I did was try to get into a hover and put it on the deck, so I could buy some time to click around and find things etc, I had reasonable control of things but the final 5 metre drop to the ground was extremely difficult, like an ever changing feeling of a cushion of air below, then I touched down too hard, mashed the blades and ended up on my side :D 2nd, 3rd, and 4th try saw the same :D 5th try I got a nice smooth touch down, however I fear I touched down slightly with the front wheel first, chopper yawed excessively forcing the blades into the ground, end ex.....lol 6th and 7th try the same :D, 8th try I made a good touchdown rear wheels first but shut the throttle too sharp maybe, yawed and killed those freaking blades again lol Anyways I have now managed a couple of landings, with all my blades in tact :D, taking off is bloody hard as well tho :S, you really have to keep on top of things 110% of the time of you just end up losing control in a snap, I can see this is really gonna focus the mind, my first take off and landing in the SU25T was a breeze by comparrison :D, and nothing broken lol Havnt fired a shot yet...........off to read the key guide and see if I can figure out some stuff now, and watch some of the official vids for some pointers in the right direction. BTW, runs much better than LOMAC FC on my system, I think I have everything in HIGH detail, but maybe not, lol, dunny speaky russhan :D
