  1. Has anything changed in 2.5.6 about how you use this system? I can't seem to get info from an AWACs aircraft just by turning it on. SURV is boxed in the sensors section of the SA page.
  2. I haven't seen anyone mention this, but most vehicles of the WWII asset pack can now be controlled by combined arms. The tanks all have new sight systems which makes me think this wasnt just accidentally left in 2.5.6. I think this is the first time these units could be controlled since they first came out.
  3. Yeah, agreed definitely a bug. I don't think any track is necessary, just put an A10C on the ground at night it should be apparent if you observe the movement of the light on the nose gear compared to the cone of light it produces.
  4. The bulk cargo ship yakushev seems to have a draw distance of less than 3 miles.
  5. Repair seems to have fixed it for vehicles for me but not all categories of objects. Fortifications like armed watch tower and road outpost for example still have the very short draw distance.
  6. They just stop if crossing from east to west, and west to east I had a humvee drive through the water rather than across the bridge. If a player is driving via combined arms the bridge works fine.
  7. I see the same, one unit that appears not to be affected is the T-55.
  8. The light cone that the nose gear light appears to be fixed straight ahead of the aircraft, while the light itself appears to be mounted on a part of the gear that swivels left and right with rudder input when nose wheel steering is activated. I think it is probably a bug, I can't remember if it swiveled left and right before. Edit, version 2.5.6
  9. I get why they (and probably all other flight sims) do this. People sitting at computers with random peripherals wont have the fine sense of motion or control that a pilot sitting in the aircraft with full controls will have. They need to consider newbies playing with mouse and keyboard or twist sticks as well as people with mfg crosswinds. When they changed the Bf 109 to make it more slippery this was basically the reasoning they gave, see replies in this thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=217751. The change was made to make up for limitations in the sim. I can get behind that and understand that the simulation experience as a whole needs to be considered for a wide range of users. What I want is the option for people with better peripherals, especially rudder, to try a closer to real tire friction. I think having it as an option is the only way to satisfy all camps.
  10. For me this is happening in all three German war birds but I'll post it here since I have a track. Using the radio to issue a command to AI wingmen sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I need to issue the same command several times (like flight, engage bandits) before I hear the voiceovers and get a response from the wing. Sometimes it works the first time, sometimes the second, sometimes the fifth time, there is no noticeable pattern but if I keep hammering in the command I want eventually it does work. On open beta, and again this affects the FW190 A and D as well. german WWII radio bug.trk
  11. Especially for WWII aircraft, which has been discussed at length, but what I would really love to see is a setting that allows players to choose a higher lateral friction value for tires across the board. Thanks! Rolds
  12. I think wakeshift's idea sounds reasonable if it can be implemented relatively easily.
  13. This implementation is very rough. If inputs to the fine tuning knob smoothly translated to changes in the selected frequency (for me they don't both with click and drag and especially with mouse wheel) that would help a lot.
  14. One thing at a time I suppose, the vehicle hits infantry mechanic should be an easy fix since there seems to be an improvement in the taxiing aircraft hitting infantry already in game.
  15. Is this what you are looking for? dcs - Log requested.zip
  16. Hi newy, not sure where to find this log any idea where it might be?
  17. The program freezes but does not crash and doesn't produce any logs I can find. When this happens DCS needs to be forced closed by alt+ctrl+delete. It appears this only happens when flying a single player mission where a lot of events occur in the log, otherwise I can find no pattern. It does not happen after simple missions. This is using open beta, and has been going on through several versions. Specs i7 7700, 64 gb ram, RTX 2080ti, dcs is on an SSD. Also DCS is being run in administrator mode.
  18. Ok so this is more of a request than a bug, and a somewhat morbid one at that. If you run over infantry in a plane, like the F18, they die. If you try to run them over in a tank, like the M1A2, the tank comes to a halt and no damage is done to the infantry. It would be nice (and cruel) but mostly nice if we could have the same plane hitting infantry mechanic for vehicles hitting infantry.
  19. It happened again, this but is occurring very frequently for me it seems to take fewer than 5 flights to reproduce. Here is another track. Spitfire reflector sight bug 2.trk
  20. I notice DCS never seems to be eating up more than 8 of my 64gb of ram, but I still find objects are not visible unless I zoom in, then larger objects noticeably pop in, like ships and contrails. Of course this is not just a ram issue but it is occuring when the system is producing more than 90fps. I would like to see if DCS could keep more objects loaded for high end systems.
  21. Here is a track where the spitfire gun sight disappears. I would say I noticed it was gone about 30 seconds before I quit the mission. Spitfire reflector sight bug.trk
  22. I can't find any of these right now, will we be getting illumination bombs or rockets for the F18? Would be sweet... Thanks, Rolds
  23. I second this, I used to use the emergency flood lights for this but after the new cockpit update I find the emergency flood lights too dim.
  24. I've tried this weapon on a couple of targets, T72's and BTR-80's. I set the HOF to 300ft and used 4 weapons at a short interval to ensure a tight concentration of the bomblets. The T72's could take "hits" from the weapon as shown on the mission log but did not take damage. The BTR-80's did not register any hits nor any damage. See tracks. A little bit of research suggests this weapon is used against armour so I did expect at least some damage to be done, could someone please look at the tracks and let me know? CBU87 effectiveness 1.trk CBU87 effectiveness 2.trk
  25. Could we please have a trigger condition "rocket in zone"? There is a bomb in zone and missile in zone, however the mission I am trying to create would use white phosphorous rockets fired from a Huey to trigger AI actions, and I can see any way of setting that as a trigger condition. Thanks!
