Still happening as of Sept 6 on open beta

AG radar doesn't seem to work in Normandy AG radar normandy.trk

Same, usually not the entire wing but sections will not render, I cannot tell if it is because these sections have been damaged and perhaps are missing a damaged state texture or something.

[REPORTED]Setting target coordinates glitches target coordinates
Rolds replied to Rolds's topic in Bugs and Problems
No you don't seem to understand the nature of the bug, if I try to input target coordinates numerically the target point glitches out and is set somewhere off the map to the east. -
[REPORTED]Instruments are frozen in zero readings since last update.
Rolds replied to Aernov's topic in Bugs and Problems
On mine the stick and pedals are also frozen in place, by that I mean they are not animated in the cockpit even though the plane seems to fly as it always has. -
Would be neat to have, would require being able to link a towed object to an aircraft which would be a useful base feature for dcs for towing things like gliders.

Here's another track, the rate of occurrence of this is very high. Since the failure seems to be part of the random system failures as it shows up in the mission log, perhaps just take that out? It fails for me about one mission in three. Aug 16, 2020 spitfire reticule failure.trk

In multiplayer (not in single player) the tracers coming off of bombers (B17, A20, JU88) always appear in the same orientation to the aircraft, for example tail gunners always appear to be firing directly aft. The tracers aren't lining up with where the bombers are actually shooting however as they often score hits, but they always appear at the same angle from the aircraft. Another player I was in the SOW server confirmed he sees the same thing, and I imagine a number of multi-player pilots can also confirm.

I am not too sure how to report this but it is a definite change in how war birds have responded to damage compared to previously. I am not sure at what point this changed. When damaged, aircraft have a nose down tendency as if there is an up force on the tail. The result is that aircraft before quite easy to wheel land, and very difficult to three-point land. I end up doing wheel landings and the roll out on the runway takes place the tail up in the air until a very low speed is reached, even with full aft stick. It happens a lot in the anton so I am posting it here but I've seen it in the P51, Dora, and K4. I don't have a track for this, it mostly happens in multiplayer.

The operation of the starter handle is backwards, push spins up the flywheel, pull engages and starts the engine

A track with the P51 issue Belly land issue.trk
-
I just had another instance where I belly landed the P51D, something I've done many times over the years, but the pilot dies a few seconds after the plane starts sliding just like what is happening when I try this in the Anton. I feel like some damage model change or something else has messed up how belly landing works. I really wish someone from ED would look at this.

Would be a nice "damage model" addition

Anyone from ED interested in taking a look at this? -
This is very much like my other thread about the S/K C18 naval gun about which no action has yet been taken. See here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=258961 The Sherman tank cannot even register a "hit" in the mission log against the bunker 2 unit, and cannot damage this bunker unit. Both HE and AP rounds were tried. I didn't try the other type of bunker, I'm happy to leave that as an assignment to others to test. One might be tempted to think that my test track was tried at a longish range and I may have been missing, rest assured I also tried at point blank range. Bunker no hits no damage.trk

This affects many WWII planes but definately the BF 109 K4 and the P51D. As a plane is coming in to land say, or taxiing not a very long distance away from me on an airfield, I can see the airplane but the landing gear does not become visible until the airplane gets fairly close. If would be great if the landing gear was modeled at the same distance as the rest of the plane.

Hi Nick! In a previous interview I believe you mentioned that you'd had a chance to do some mock dogfighting in the P47 and maybe other warbirds, is that correct? If so could you please tell us more about these experiences? What sort of rules are followed in these engagements, what altitudes, what planes are used, how many g do you reckon you pull to in these etc etc I'm sure we would find all the details very interesting.
-
How is the investigation of this one going? Please let me know if you need any more tracks, because this happens every time I fly the spitfire.

I'm attaching a track which is just one of a few tests I ran. With the bomb rack dismounted, the pilot seems to always die while the aircraft is sliding. With the bomb rack mounted, the plane catches fire, noses over and bounces around in a weird, glitchy looking way. After several tests I wasn't able to belly land at all without the pilot dying, is this consistent with the experience of others? Belly land problem.trk

Spitfire current DM clients can fly with missing wing
Rolds replied to Rolds's topic in Bugs and Problems
O3O3 I think you are right some things aren't synchrinized, but in this case the wing is shot off at the fuselolauge, I saw the hits on each of three occasions as of today. The spit fire continues flying at a strange attitude and is clearly struggling. but it can still fly. -
Yeah I'm talking about the 88mil flak, and maybe to an extent 40mil, it seems keeps firing at you and tracking you even when you are at treetop level and there is no line of sight. I'm pretty sure in the classic flak defense video from WWII they say heavy flak is not effective below 4000ft so it would probably be helpful to set a minimum engagement altitude for larger caliber guns.
-
I agree with this, heavy flak shells exploding all around when you are at treetop level is one of the more annoyingingly unrealistic things about DCS WWII right now.
