im confused... so how do i actually install normandy map? I have dcs 2.0 and pre purchased normandy. Apparently you can update 2.0 (but thats not working) or am i right in thinking you can download a fresh version of 2.0 using the installer via the website and once done normandy should be there? EDIT Tis working now... i just used the updater icon in start menu, eagle dynamics... took a few goes, but finally it has bitten!.. only getting 1mg per second.. 5 mins in 22 peers... so yes its slow!

So a while ago i used to play a P51 mission, but i can no longer find it? I was very simple.. you started in the air with a wing man. directly in front of you to the right was a big lake, going away from the lake to the left was a road with a convoy on it. Protecting the convoy was ground to air weapons of some description too. Also i believe there was frost or snow on the ground. Any help finding this would be great! Thank you.

Ah yes.. sorry! when i say sata drive i actually mean HDD. Anyway since i put dcs on the ssd drive i no longer experience the brief pausing.

Pikey can i ask.. when you upgraded to ssd did you originally have ssd for OS and sata for games/storage? but then you upgraded your games/storage to ssd from sata? so you still have 2 seperate hdds correct? only i have ssd for os and sata for storage. today i tried something by installing dcs onto my ssd os drive and the pausing seems to have gone. What im thinking is if i upgrade my sata (storage/games) to ssd even though its a seperate drive do you think i will see the same good results as having the os and dcs installed on the one ssd drive?.. that sounds confusing but what im saying should make sense!.. sorry!!

Sorry to be a "whinge" again! but in fairness its been quite some time now! ..nearly a year in fact! and the problem still exists. Wolf Rider I will try to keep my findings to a minimum and not report so often to what i'm experiencing. I mean that would be a silly thing to do seeing as though that's what this thread is about. Regarding you not understanding the philosophy Ill try to explain..... If someone has a problem and they start a thread to explain the problem, they usually say what they are experiencing if it be good or bad and other forum users usually try to help and share advice in most cases. Then you have people who don't have a problem and generally tend not to start threads explaining they don't have a problem. I don't mean to be disrespectful - I just didn't understand your philosophy.

I started my ticket on the 25th of Jan, I finally got a reply on the 5th of Feb, but was not given any information to my problem. I was simply asked a question that I promptly replied to... Ive heard nothing since. Im a little upset. Ive invested a lot of money and time into DCS. Ive never had a ticket before either.. ive always made the effort to ask the community for help without bothering anyone else. I do feel a little badly done by. Hopefully this post will prompt a reply to my ticket?

Yeah, i still have had no reply. And your right, asking people is the best way. I did all this well over a month ago. So i thought to try the ticket option... ill try the mod next. thanks again.

Thanks... i have asked on here. People have helped but not fixed. I sent my ticket about a week ago now, but no reply.... ill hang in a little longer and see what happens. Thanks though

Incredible!.. this worked!! Ive been flying around now for the past hour or so.. changed missions, planes etc.. even put everything on ultra and runs smooth as silk. I cant thank you enough!! Im gonna take the day of work now. Ill just tell them it was your fault. Amazing. I didnt look at the power saving options, just nvidia control panel. So my advice to anyone out there having this stutter/pausing/lag(offline) issue with NVIDIA card, try changing the Nvidia control panel settings to what Wolf Rider and The_Nephilim have suggested. It worked for me. THANK YOU!!!! EDIT Actually non of the above worked.... i dont know why it did for that brief moment?... back to square one.

So..... I still have stutter problems. The reason why I thought it was fixed last night was due to me flying same mission editor setup and using the same plane after doing the changes. Once I change map area and plane it returned. I find though if I fly around in the same area (almost like loading the surrounding graphics) it stops stutter, or at least reduces it to almost nothing and runs smooth. I have shadows on flat, visibility of trees about 50% etc. so in not pushing anything by any means. Msaa is only x4, no depth of field, no civ traffic etc. all with my 980ti. It has to be DCS surely? I'm happy to move on from this and just try to live with it. Now and again I will bring this subject up to see if anyone has more info in the future. But thank you for helping me with all this. I'm still happy to try other options, but also happy to leave it and just move on in the hope DCS fix this if it is their issue? Maybe I should write to a mod explaining my issue just to get a confirmation that it's not me. Anyone know who I should contact. Thanks again!

I will screen capture my settings in NCP if you think you can help me better understand it. I've never done a stress test on my cpu. I'll look up on how to do that and report back my findings. Thanks for your support and help. Will post back soon!

Yes i have tried all the above and it seems it is DCS. See i never played 1.2 as i came into DCS world just as 1.5 came out, so only a few weeks really. Thanks for the info, its actually made me feel better. I thought it was just me.

Sure, would it be too much to ask how to do this? Thank you for the reply. EDIT, Ok so I have done this and set the page file to SSD. Hopefully this will make a difference? I have not selected a custom size as i dont know what to put? I have 16gig RAM. I have simply left the 'system managed size' ticked. Anymore advice is welcome. I will also mave my DCS saved games etc folder from my OS HDD to my game install SSD and see if that helps too? Ill report back my findings. Thanks!
