just noticed that it appears that only the F16 and FA 18 have this feature????

I have tried the command "record on" (left alt lef sh r) & off, can't seem to find how to replay the recorded flt???

DCS!!! bout 1/2 way comfortable in the FA18C. Just wish the A2G radar would be released to complete the a/c's suit! Good with A2A BVR, dumb bombs, Harms, Harpoons, AGM154's counter measures, and CQ. WIP laser weapons, A2A furballs!:)

VFA 31 trying to reform after a years stand down! PM for chat or TS or Discord!

We began many year ago in this sim (named different now) moved to FSX/P3D for last 7 years. I am now trying to reform a group of "sr." types to seriously fun fly! US based ( I am in Pensacola fL and a retired USN aviator) I fly the FA18, but have most modern A/C. just pre ordered he Super CV. like to fly at 2100CST almost any night. I understand the system now and have if functioning! Problem now is locating the tgt on the flir. If in the "auto" delvery mode, is there a method to "slave" the laser to the tgt set on the HSI? I would feel that small changes might need to be done with the TDC, but at least I would "see" the tgt on the FLIR screen.:)

Disagree with a "good job on release of new system". Wags say in almost all vid " this may not be what the release looks like,,,but" Would prefer to wait 2 days and get some good info on system.. understand the "Open Beta" thing, but to perform meaning full test we need to know systems should workings. Understand if there are some bugs, but just how to make systems work would be great! Some releases make me think of an old NAVY term, and only "old Navy can appreciate it--"Liberty and no BOATS"!!!!:)

GOT IT NOW! Combination of fuse settings and "assuming" the preset weapons laser code was 1688! :) looks as if there is a very small diamond on HUD and MFD at the TGT location! it helps line up!

I have used FC/ED/DCS since day 1,and I go back along way! It appears to me that currently the inmates are running the nut house, pushing stuff out with good info, which make it useless to the average joe! We get patches/updates/new weapons, etc with little or no documentation as to how to use them. We get vid from ED which state "this may not be how the patch/release will work but..." Then we get, and thanks to them, other users posting vids as to "how to", some are great, others lack accuracy. After spending MANY $ over the years on DCS products if think it is time for them to provide customers with accurate data on their systems. I have read post here saying it is better to have the new items released rather than waiting for the "how to"! I totally disagree! It is frustrating to attempt to get a new system/weapon to work by " guess and by God"! I have spent the last several day working on the laser Guided weapons. Wag's vid is almost useless ("the release may not work this way"). Viewed maybe 4 other "how too's". Posted several items on the forums (thanks for your help guys), but still have no clue as to assure a good lock and drop! Any weapon, system released should include detailed instructions, or don't release it! We should be severed better!:mad: Rant over:doh:

gbu Still can't get a good drop/hit. I don't see the small box over the tgt??? I think all switchs are correct. watched 2 vid and got really confused!:cry:

follow up question. do you release the weapon with the "weapon release" button, then depress the trigger to fire the laser? if so how long to wait to fire the laser?? Thanks for the info guys:)

I believe a lot of misunderstanding stems from in the “controls” settings there are 2 switches named “dispenser” switch. One moves fwd and aft as discussed on page 61(see below). The other “dispenser” switch on page 173 (see below) is also a 3 position switch, up and down. It should IMHO be called the “dispenser mode switch). Positions are off, on and bypass. Functions as noted below. Fig 24 pg 61 Dispense Switch, AFT – OFF – FWD. This three-way switch allows manual and semi-automatic use of the ALE-47 countermeasure system. • Forward [E]. Start EW countermeasure program. Each press of the switch will initiate the program set on the EW page. • Center. No function. • Aft [D]. Dispense single chaff / flare in manual mode. Fig 173 Pg295 Dispenser Mode Select Switch. This switch has three positions: • OFF: Turns the CMDS power off and ALE-47 legend on the EW page has an X through it. However, the ECM JETT button will still function. • BYPASS. This selection bypasses the countermeasure programmer and will release a single chaff or single flare based on the HOTAS countermeasure release command. When set to bypass, the ALE-47 indication on the DDI EW page will have a dash through it and the EW page BIT element will indicate NOT RDY ON: When set to on, there is a five second warm up period and a BIT is conducted. After five seconds, it is ready for operation. When in ON mode, the release modes of STBY, MAN, SEMI, and AUTO can be selected. o When first set to ON, SF TEST will appear for five seconds below the EW legends on the DDI EW page. After which, PBIT GO will be displayed for ten seconds. Once that is complete, OFF or the selected mode will be displayed.

Correct me if I am wrong. with MAN mode selected,my understanding is with the dispenser switch in the "on" position, forward dispenser will fire the selected program, aft will fire program #5. with the switch in "bypass" fwd will fire chaff and aft will fire flares.

the "Navy Way"! Stick controls airspeed, Throttle controls altitude in any configuration, but very important in CV work! if slow, first correction, stick fwd! then adjust nose to adjust ROD/altitude ! If low first correction, add power! then adjust nose to maintain AS.

With 26 years in the USN,2 tours in training command, one as a CO, NATOPS instructor in T28, S2, C1 and about 10000 hrs experience. I state"Hold landing attitude until touchdown". Now I also have many hours in land based multi engine (P2/P3) and you did flair those a/c. When you maintain the correct AOA the a/c is set at the best attitude to engage a wire, fairing changes that attitude. "Only fly the a/c one way no matter where you are landing"!!
