I did as you said Snowtiger, and it took only 2 more tries to do the 'On the other side' mission. After reading about AI datalink (and watching youtube datalink guides) and working with the AIs, the mission was quite easy. The AIs destroyed the hinds and remaining ground units were easy targets afterwards. I managed to launch a vikhr on a Hind, but it missed, as the Hind moved transversely (forgot to press the A/A target button). Actually locking and engaging a moving air target makes me proud :thumbup:

oh man, I'm at fourth try on this mission. Even flying over the hills was a challenge in itself, I crashed twice. Looking forward to getting owned.

Ok, now it is solved. Well, changing HW without reinstalling Windows was never a good idea. My fault was, that I did not realize that I need to reinstall win, it was about half a year ago and DCS 1.2 worked OK

I had the same the problem and I solved it. My log said this> 00000.037 ALERT SOUND: Can't init SND_Renderer. Consider updating the DirectX Runtime. 00000.037 ERROR SOUND: render init failed 00000.084 INFO SOUND: loaded 1074 sdefs from "sounds\sdef" 00000.113 INFO DCS: try to write dump information So I ran directX setup from DCS World\distr folder. Also did msvcr repair, which is in the same folder. And I noticed my graphics card driver is not up to date, so I did upgrade too. And it works now, one of those things helped, DX most probably

Thank you for your replies. The problem is, that I uninstalled everything DCS-related and tried to do a clean install, but even after installing the 6.4MB web installer, the updater stops right away. This night, I realized, that my current installation is not a very stable one. I did some HW changes about half a year ago and did not reinstall Windows, I managed to make it somehow run, but its not optimal. I will reinstall Windows and try again. And I will report back, if there will be more problems. I doubt it, I'm almost certain, that the problem lies with the fact, that I did HW changes and now have a ragtag Windows installation. Specs are: Intel i3-4170 3.7GHz, Gigabyte B85-HD3-A motherboard, NVidia GTX650, 2x4GB DDR3, Win7 64bit, with Intel SSD 128GB as game disk. I will provide the logs if it fails again after complete system reinstall, but I highly doubt it.

I also downloaded web install, no success. Uninstalled everything. I'm now down to Ka-50 BS1 and no DCS world. Everything uninstalled. still the webinstall refuses to do anything. Error as above. damn it, I'm stuck to viewing Hadwell's DCS Mig-21 YT videos, as I envy him. I purchased Mig-21 yesterday but I'm unable to do anything as it is right now.

Hey I'm struggling all evening with this. Was hapy with DCS world 1.2, now 1.5 is online and up to date. I want to upgrade, but I'm unable to do so. I tried update from 1.2 by means of dcs_updater.exe, also tried dcs_updater.exe repair, no success, always this error. DCS updater ends with this and I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?

I tried it out now, indeed selecting all stations works only when there is identical loadout on all stations. Tried that with rockets, bombs. It makes sense, if you have different weapons, it does not make any sense firing them all at once.

I started with deployment about a month ago. The simulator is amazing and this campaign really begins slowly and gradually. So far my favourite mission was a night ambush, ending with a car chase :) perfect mission design. I am a bit late to the party I feel. I purchased BS1 when it was still new, but didn't have the PC to operate it. Now I have a PC powerful enough, but I feel I missed the peak of this game by a few years or so :( No matter, happy flying to all :thumbup:
