  1. The messages were almost simultaneous. First I was told to turn, then almost immediately after was terminated.
  2. Yes sir, I've watched it several times. I got terminated ( after being told to turn onto the base leg off of the downwind leg) for going off course. Can't win
  3. This campaign is messed up, I have the FE telling me to turn, then terminates me for going off-course. I quit
  4. Ok thanks, I made it to the cross-wind leg of the pattern and got flown into the side of a mountain! I guess I missed another trigger? Why isn't the altitude based on radar altitude?
  5. I'm wondering at what altitude should I make the turn after takeoff, also if it's OK to use auto pilot during these missions?
  6. OK, thanks. I've done the ocean flight twice now, not fun.
  7. Hi Sabre, thanks for your reply. No, I didn't get the PO start message
  8. I'm on step three of the training and the thing has me flying heading 260 at 260 knots at 8000 ft forever. I'm 35 miles out over the ocean and I get no further instructions. If I deviate from my heading, speed or altitude, I get a reprimand. How long does this take? Anyone fly it before? I can't take much more of this!
  9. I can't find the switches in the cockpit to control the lights. The pinky on my TM HOTAS throttle doesn't do anything. It seems the only lights I can use in the SIM are the nose wheel lights when taxiing
  10. I've pretty much got it now, I soon as I learned where the speed brake control was on the HOTAS I've had perfect landings!
  11. Thanks GurbY, just ordered the paperback. ( $200 for the hardcover :( )
  12. Awesome! I'm well on my way! Anyone know it there are "hard copies" of the flight manual available anywhere? It would be nice be able to have it handy while in the SIM.
  13. I just retired from over 33 years of public service and building a gaming computer was on my "bucket list". After completing the build, I searched around trying to decide what games I was going to use it for. Then I found DCS A 10C and my decision was immediate. I'm glad I found it. It's going to be a real challenge to learn this simulation and I realize it's going to be a long process. I look forward to getting to the point where I can contribute to a successful multiplayer mission. I have plenty of free time and am determined to get there. Time to "hit the books" !!!
  14. I've at the point where I can get it on the ground (after four attempts) but I keep ending up stuck in the grass. I just need some practice and I'll get it. Thanks for all of your help!
  15. Got it Mick! Thank you!
  16. Like I said, I'm totally new to all of this. Do you know where I can learn how to reassign the trim to the trim hat? I know nothing about mapping control switches. My flaps switch doesn't seem to do anything when I'm in the air either, when I'm on the ground, the HOTAS flaps switch do manipulate the flaps in the SIM though.
  17. I wasn't issued a manual :( . No, really, I've been trying to get a manual but, it's been taken down for violating some "terms of service" Do you know where I can get one?
  18. OK, I know about the wheelbrakes. What about speed brakes? What are they and how are they used? I have the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle and stick. Are flaps used in landings? If so, how do I adjust them?
  19. Hi, I am new to DCS and have no experience with flight SIMs. I am enjoying the challenge of this A 10C module. I took my first training session on landings and was able to place the plane on the runway threshold, however, I think my flight instructor bailed out on me after having to go around three times to line up my approach. The thing is, he never mentioned how to slow the plane down once on the runway and I crashed. Can someone please tell me how to apply brakes? Thank you
  20. Wow!! that's much better!!!! I can see!! Thanks again
  21. OK, Ill give it a try, thank you
  22. WIN 10/i5 6600k/ GTX970 x2
  23. Hi Gang, I just finished building my first computer and am completely new to DCS. I got the A 10C module and am starting the training mission. I am having difficulty in that when in the cockpit, I can't read the lettering on the panels. It's all blurry and illegible. Is it me, is it my settings, or the SIM itself? Thanks
